Sony Tablet S Factory / Hard Reset

This guide provides instructions for performing a factory or hard reset on the Sony Tablet S. This process is useful if you are experiencing problems starting up the operating system, wish to erase all data, or have forgotten your password, PIN, or pattern code.
Attention: Performing a factory reset will erase all your data. It is highly recommended to back up your data before proceeding.

Method 1: Via Settings
- Navigate to Settings on your tablet.
- Select Backup & reset.
- Choose Factory data reset.
- The tablet will restart automatically.
Within the "Backup & reset" menu, you can also find the option to "Back up my data".
Method 2: Via Android Recovery Menu
- Power off the tablet completely.
- Press and hold both the Power On button and the Volume Up button simultaneously.
- When the Sony logo appears, release the Power On button but continue holding the Volume Up button.
- You will now be in the Android recovery menu. Use the Volume keys to scroll through the options and the Power On key to select.
- From the options, select: Reset to Factory Settings.
- Confirm your selection by choosing: Yes - erase all user data.
- The tablet will restart automatically.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
