4. Test Data

4.1 Test Scenario

Network Topology

Description: A network topology diagram shows two 1Gbps links. One link connects a Cisco C9500-24Y4C switch to an SFP-1G34-BX10 module. The other link connects another SFP-1G34-BX10 module to a Cisco C9500-24Y4C switch.

Interoperability Test Scenario

Description: An image depicts a rack of network equipment, illustrating the interoperability test setup.

Test Premise

  1. Confirm the brand, quantity, and placement of the switches to be tested.
  2. Prepare control cables, test software, and optical fiber patch cords. Power on the switches in advance.
  3. Locate the Console port on the switch (marked as "CON", "IOIOI", or a computer monitor icon). Connect the switch to the computer using a control cable.

Test Method

Before connecting the software, confirm the control cable's connection port in the computer's device manager (COM and LPT ports). Open SecureCRT Portable software and enter the quick connection interface.

  • Protocol selection: Serial
  • Port selection: Match the port viewed in the previous step.
  • Baud rate selection: Match the baud rate of the port on the target switch.
  • Flow control: Do not check this option.

Remaining configurations can keep default values.

Description of SecureCRT Quick Connect Interface: A dialog box with fields for Protocol (Serial), Port (e.g., COM28), Baud rate (e.g., 38400), Data bits (8), Parity (None), Stop bits (1). Options include "Show quick connect on startup", "Save session", "Open in a tab". Buttons: "Connect", "Cancel".

4.2 Test Result

Test Steps

  1. Insert the optical module into the corresponding rate port of the switch. Connect TX-RX ends with an optical fiber jumper or MTP self-loop device. Verify module connection. If not connected, check jumper or switch port configuration.
  2. Enter the test interface, input account and password, log in to the switch, and enter privileged mode.
  3. Using the switch command configuration table, input test commands and view relevant information: port status (connectivity), connection rate, alarm status, module basic information, DDM information, etc. Determine if requirements are met.
