Important Safety Information
⚠️ Danger of suffocation: Packaging material is dangerous to children. Never allow children to play with packaging material.
⚠️ Danger of death: Risk of poisoning from flue gases drawn back. Always ensure adequate fresh air in the room when operating in exhaust air mode simultaneously with a room air-dependent heat-producing appliance (e.g., gas, oil, wood heaters). These appliances draw combustion air from the room and discharge exhaust gases. Extractor hoods remove room air, potentially creating a partial vacuum. If fresh air is insufficient, toxic gases can be sucked back into the living space.
Adequate incoming air must always be ensured. An incoming/exhaust air wall box alone is not sufficient. Safe operation requires the partial vacuum not to exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). This is achieved when air for combustion can enter through unsealed openings (e.g., doors, windows, wall boxes). Consult your Master Chimney Sweep for ventilation assessment. Unrestricted operation is possible if the extractor hood is used exclusively in circulating-air mode.
⚠️ Risk of fire: Fatty deposits in the grease filter can catch fire. Clean the grease filter regularly. Never operate without a grease filter. Never use naked flames near the appliance (e.g., flambéing). Do not install near solid fuel appliances unless a closed, non-removable cover is available and there are no flying sparks. Hot oil/fat ignites quickly; never leave unattended. Do not use water on burning oil/fat; switch off the hotplate and extinguish with a lid or fire blanket. Gas burners without cookware can overheat and damage the ventilation appliance or cause fire; only operate with cookware. Operating multiple gas burners simultaneously generates significant heat; never operate two burners on the highest flame for longer than 15 minutes. A large burner (>5 kW/wok) is equivalent to two gas burners.
⚠️ Risk of burns: Accessible parts become very hot during operation. Never touch hot parts. Keep children at a safe distance. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
⚠️ Risk of injury: Components inside may have sharp edges; wear protective gloves. Items on the appliance may fall; do not place objects on it. LED lights are dazzling and can damage eyes (risk group 1); do not look directly into switched-on LED lights for longer than 100 seconds.
⚠️ Risk of electric shock: A defective appliance may cause electric shock. Never switch on a defective appliance. Unplug or switch off the circuit breaker. Contact after-sales service. Incorrect repairs are dangerous; only trained technicians should perform repairs or replace power cables. If defective, unplug or switch off the circuit breaker and contact after-sales service. Do not use high-pressure or steam cleaners. Penetrating moisture can cause electric shock; clean with a damp cloth only, unplugging or switching off the circuit breaker first.
Causes of damage:
- Caution! Corrosion risk: Always switch on the appliance while cooking to avoid condensation.
- Always replace faulty bulbs to prevent overloading of remaining bulbs.
- Humidity ingress risk: Never clean operator controls with a wet cloth.
- Surface damage: Clean stainless steel in the direction of the grain only. Do not use stainless steel cleaners on controls. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Condensate risk: Install the exhaust duct to fall away from the appliance slightly (1° slope).
- Design elements: Do not pull or place objects on design elements.
- Caution! Surface damage risk: Remove the protective film from all parts before first use.
Environmental Protection
Your new appliance is energy-efficient. Tips for saving energy and proper disposal:
Saving energy:
- Ensure sufficient air supply for efficient, quiet operation.
- Adjust fan speed to the amount of steam produced; use intensive mode only when required. Lower fan speed consumes less energy.
- For high steam, select a higher fan speed early.
- Switch off the extractor hood if no longer needed.
- Switch off the lighting if no longer needed.
- Clean and replace filters at regular intervals to maintain ventilation effectiveness and prevent fire risk.
- Use a lid to reduce cooking steam and condensation.
Environmentally-friendly disposal: Dispose of packaging responsibly. This appliance is labelled according to the WEEE directive for electrical and electronic equipment.
Operating Modes
Exhaust air mode: Air is drawn in, cleaned by grease filters, and conveyed to the exterior via a pipe system.
Note: Exhaust air must not be conveyed into a functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue or a ventilation shaft for heat-producing appliances. Obtain consent from the heating engineer for non-functioning flues. Use a telescopic wall box for exhaust through the outer wall.
Circulating-air mode: Air is drawn in, cleaned by grease filters and an activated carbon filter, and recirculated into the kitchen.
Note: An activated carbon filter is required to bind odours. Options for circulating-air mode are detailed in the brochure or available from your dealer. Required accessories are available from specialist retailers, customer service, or the online shop.
