PHILIPS LED Outdoor Low Voltage Pedestal

Product Overview

This document provides installation instructions for the Philips LED Outdoor Low Voltage Pedestal luminaire. It is designed for outdoor use and operates on a 12V low-voltage system.

Included Items & Required Tools

The product includes the LED luminaire and its primary mounting hardware. The following items are required for installation but are NOT included:

• Electric Drill
• Pencil for marking
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Hammer
• 4x ST4.2x30 screws
• 3x Φ6x30 wall plugs
• Additional hardware like Φ4 and Φ6 drill bits, and potentially other types of wall plugs, may be required depending on the mounting surface.

Safety and Ratings

• IP44 Rated: Protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction.
• Protection Class III: Operates on Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV), providing a high level of safety.
• Energy Efficiency Class F: Indicates the energy efficiency rating of the luminaire.
• Low Voltage Operation: This product is designed exclusively for low-voltage systems (12V) and is not suitable for direct connection to mains voltage (220-240V~).

Installation Instructions

1. Prepare Luminaire Base: Attach the mounting bracket to the base of the LED outdoor pedestal luminaire. Ensure it is securely fastened.
2. Mark Mounting Points: Position the luminaire assembly on the desired mounting surface. Use a pencil to mark the locations for drilling holes through the mounting bracket.
3. Drill Pilot Holes: If required by the mounting surface and plugs, drill pilot holes using a Φ4 drill bit at the marked locations.
4. Drill for Wall Plugs: Drill holes suitable for the Φ6x30 wall plugs at the marked locations. The depth should accommodate the plugs.
5. Insert Wall Plugs: Insert the 4x Φ6x30 wall plugs into the drilled holes. A hammer may be used to gently tap them into place if necessary.
6. Mount Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the surface using the 4x ST4.2x30 screws. Ensure the bracket is firmly attached.
7. Attach Luminaire: Position the luminaire onto the mounted bracket. Secure it in place using the provided screws, typically accessed from the underside or side of the base. Arrows indicate the direction of attachment and tightening.
8. Connect Low-Voltage Cable: Connect the low-voltage power cable from the power supply to the luminaire. The diagram shows various connector types and indicates correct (checkmark) vs. incorrect (cross) connections. Ensure a secure and proper connection.
9. Connect to Power Supply: Connect the low-voltage plug from the luminaire's cable to the appropriate socket on the Philips GardenLink 12V power supply unit or sensor.

Philips GardenLink Low-volt System (12V) Overview

The Philips GardenLink system operates on a 12V low-voltage supply, making it safe and easy to install. The system can be powered by a 220-240V~ mains adapter connected to a 12V power supply unit. It supports components such as Dusk-to-Dawn sensors and multiple luminaires.

System Limitations:

• With Dusk-to-Dawn Sensor: Maximum load of 24W for the sensor, supporting up to 3 luminaires.
• With 24W Power Supply Unit & Sensor: Maximum cable run of 30 meters, supporting up to 3 luminaires.
• With 48W Power Supply Unit: Maximum cable run of 24 meters, supporting up to 6 luminaires.

Important: This system is for low voltage use only. Ensure all connections are made according to these instructions.
