The B4FM is compliant with Bluetooth Specification V5.0, supporting the following profiles: Headset Profile (HSP), Hands-Free Profile (HFP), and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It offers universal pairing with most Bluetooth headsets.

Battery:

The B4FM features an 800 mAh battery, providing up to 15 hours of music playback or intercom talk time, with over one week of standby time.

Function Priority:

The B4FM operates with the following priority order:

  1. Mobile phone
  2. Intercom Talk
  3. Music/FM Radio/GPS

A lower-priority function is always interrupted by a higher-priority function. For example, stereo music can be interrupted by an intercom call, and intercom talk can be interrupted by an incoming phone call.

The package contents are illustrated with various components laid out. These include the B4FM Main Unit, 36mm HD Ultra-Slim Speakers with wires, both Boom and Button Microphones, a Boom Microphone Holder, Mounting Bracket, Clamp Plate, Add-on Mounting Pad, 3M Tape Bracket, User Manual/Quick Start Guide, USB-C Cable, Speaker Pad, Allen Wrench with Screws (x4), Rubber Pads for Clamp Plate (x2), and a Dismounting Stick.

Installation Instructions

Installing Bracket for B4FM to Helmet

  1. With Screws: Mount the bracket between the internal padding and external shell of the helmet. Tighten the two screws between the bracket and Mounting Pad using the included Allen wrench.Note: Adjust with 0-2 rubber pads based on helmet thickness. Use longer screws if adding the plastic mounting pad. (Diagram Description: Shows a helmet with the bracket positioned between inner and outer shells. Arrows indicate screw tightening.   2. With Adhesive Pad: Peel off the protective backing sheet of the 3M tape bracket and adhere it onto the helmet. Press for 15 seconds and allow 24 hours to dry.Note: LEXIN recommends bracket mounting but offers the 3M tape as an option at the user's risk. Mounting the B4FM Unit to Bracket

  • Mount the B4FM main unit on the bracket. Slide the unit down until it clicks firmly into the bottom portion.
  • To remove, insert the Dismounting Stick between the unit and bracket, then push the unit up. (Diagram Description: Two sequential diagrams show the B4FM main unit sliding onto the bracket. A third diagram illustrates using the dismounting stick to detach the unit.)

Installing Speakers

  • Note: The shorter wire is for the left ear, longer for the right, to enhance FM radio reception.
  • Step 1: Place one half of the speaker velcro pad into the helmet's inner padding.
  • Step 2: Push the speakers firmly against the velcro pads. Use provided spacers for helmets with deep ear pockets.
  • Step 3: Hide wires between the helmet liner and shell.Note: Speaker pads can increase thickness for deep ear pockets. (Diagram Description: Shows speaker velcro being placed in the helmet. The speaker is then pressed against it. A separate diagram shows speaker pads.)

Installing Microphone

  • Note: Button and boom microphones are interchangeable for full-face or open-face helmets based on preference and fit.
  • Full Face Helmet/Button Microphone: Step 1: Locate an area in the center of the mouth section, adhere half of the microphone velcro pad. Step 2: Attach the button microphone to the velcro. Step 3: Connect the cable to the headphone connector from the left.   • Open Face Helmet/Boom Microphone: Step 1: Adhere one half of the velcro pad to the microphone base, and the other half inside the helmet under padding. Step 2: Adjust microphone direction so the triangular mark points towards your mouth. Step 3: Use the boom microphone holder for additional support if necessary. General Operation Instructions

Powering On/Off

Power on/off: Hold [power-symbol] (Power Button) + [intercom-symbol] (Intercom Button) for 1 second simultaneously.

  • Power On: Long press [power-symbol] and [intercom-symbol] for ~1 second. LED blinks blue. Speaker reports "power on" and battery level.
  • Power Off: Long press [power-symbol] and [intercom-symbol] for ~1 second. LED blinks red. Speaker reports "power off".

Battery

  • Charging: Plug USB-C cable into the unit and USB into a DC 5V power supply (charger, computer, power bank). LED is red while charging, turns blue when fully charged. Takes ~3 hours.
  • Low Battery Alert: Notifies when battery drops below 30%, with alerts every 5 minutes. Indicates ~1-1.5h use remaining. Shuts down below 20%.
  • Battery Life Prompt: Unit reports current battery life on startup. In standby, long press [down-arrow] for ~1 second to hear battery level (100%, 80%, 50%, 30%, LOW).

Pairing B4FM with Bluetooth Devices

In group intercom, one LX-B4FM connects to two other LX-B4FM devices and one mobile phone simultaneously. Auto-connects to last paired device.

Pairing Phone

  1. With unit powered off, long press [power-symbol] for ~5 seconds until LED flashes blue/red alternately to enter pairing mode.Note: Use [power-symbol] for pairing, not [intercom-symbol].
  2. On phone's Bluetooth settings, select "LX-B4FM". Enter "0000" for PIN if required.
  3. Confirm pairing on your phone.Note: Blue LED blink on B4FM indicates connection.

Pairing Bluetooth GPS Navigation

  1. With unit powered off, long press [power-symbol] for ~5 seconds until LED flashes blue/red alternately to enter pairing mode.
  2. Follow GPS pairing instructions.Note: You will hear Bluetooth voice instructions from GPS after pairing.

Phone Calls

  • Answer Call: Click [power-symbol] when a call is incoming.
  • Auto Answer: Incoming calls answered automatically after 12 seconds.
  • Preset On/Off Automatic Answering: With power on, long press [up-arrow] for ~5 seconds (blue flash x3 for ON) or long press [up-arrow] for ~5 seconds (red flash x3 for OFF).
  • End Call: Click [power-symbol] to end the call.
  • Decline Call: Double click [power-symbol] to reject.
  • Redial: In standby, double click [up-arrow] to redial the last call.
  • Voice Dial: With phone paired, double click [down-arrow] to activate Siri or S-Voice. Speak name from phone list.

Volume and Music Controls

  • Volume Up/Down: Long press [up-arrow] or [down-arrow]. Prompts at max/min volume.Note: Volume adjustment is only active in music, FM Radio, Intercom, or Phone Call modes. Adjust phone volume for louder output. Single click for gradual change, long press for continuous.
  • Pause/Play: Click [power-symbol] to pause, click again to resume.
  • Change Song: Double click [up-arrow] for next song, double click [down-arrow] for previous song.

Music Sharing

Device A (playing music) can share to Device B. Double click [power-symbol] on Device A to enter music sharing. Device B in standby, double click [power-symbol] on B to search and connect. Music plays on both.

Stop Music Sharing: Double click [power-symbol] on either device.

Intercom Connection

Full-duplex Bluetooth intercom talk. Supports 4-way and multi-way intercom (up to 10 riders).

Clear existing connections before pairing for communications. Long press [up-arrow] + [down-arrow] for ~1 second (red flash) to clear all previous connections.

Default is 4-way intercom. To switch to multi-way (5+ riders): In standby, long press [power-symbol] for ~8 seconds on all units (beep sound, red light flashes quickly). This must be done each time for multi-way.

Bluetooth Intercom Pairing & Connection

Step 1 (2-Way Pairing):

Press [intercom-symbol] to pair 2 B4FM devices.

Power on two B4FM units. Long press [intercom-symbol] on both units for ~1 second. LEDs flash red/blue alternately (pairing mode). (Diagram Description: Shows two B4FM units. Click [intercom-symbol] on either unit to search and pair the other. LED flashes blue quickly. Upon completion, LED blinks blue slowly on both units.

Start the intercom talk: Once paired, click [intercom-symbol] on any unit to start. LED blinks blue/red simultaneously in intercom mode. Click [power-symbol] to temporarily disconnect; click [intercom-symbol] again to resume.

Step 2 (3-Way Pairing):

After Step 1 (units 1&2 paired), press [intercom-symbol] and [down-arrow] to pair the second and third B4FM devices. Power on second and third units. Long press [intercom-symbol] and [down-arrow] on both for ~1 second. LEDs flash red/blue alternately. (Diagram Description: Shows three B4FM units. Unit One and Two are paired. Click [intercom-symbol] on either unit to search and pair. LED flashes blue quickly. Pairing complete, LED blinks blue slowly on all three units.

If unit 2 disconnects, others disconnect.

Start the intercom talk: (Same as 2-way).

Four-way Pairing:

After Step 1 and Step 2 (units 1&2&3 paired), press [intercom-symbol] to pair the third and fourth B4FM devices. On standby, long press [intercom-symbol] on the third and fourth units for ~1 second. Voice prompts "pairing", LEDs flash red/blue alternately. (Diagram Description: Shows four B4FM units. Units One, Two, and Three are paired. Click [intercom-symbol] on either unit to search and pair. LED flashes blue quickly. Pairing complete, LED blinks blue slowly on all four units.

If one device disconnects, the group splits. Click [intercom-symbol] again to reconnect.

Multi-way Group Intercom

Default is 4-way. To switch to multi-way (5+ riders): In standby, long press [power-symbol] for ~8 seconds on all units (beep, red light flashes quickly). This must be done each time.

Group Pairing:

Pair with more than five B4FM devices.

Each B4FM device can only be paired with two other B4FM devices at a time. Pairing is done in series (e.g., Unit 1 -> Unit 2, Unit 2 -> Unit 3, etc.). If Unit 3 is paired with Unit 2 and Unit 4, it cannot pair with others. Start the intercom talk: (Same as previous).

Clear The Pairing:

Long press [up-arrow] + [down-arrow] simultaneously for ~1 second (red light flashes quickly).

Universal Pairing

To enter pairing mode:

  1. With power on, long press [intercom-symbol] for ~1 second until LED flashes blue/red alternately.
  2. Follow other Bluetooth device pairing instructions.
  3. Click [intercom-symbol] on B4FM to search. LED flashes blue/red quickly. Pairing complete, LED flashes blue slowly.
  4. To initiate universal intercom, click [up-arrow] + [down-arrow] together.
  5. Click [power-symbol] to end the intercom talk.

FM Radio

  • On/Off: Long press [power-symbol] for ~1 second to turn On or Off.
  • FM Radio Station Search:
    • Turn up: Double click [down-arrow]. Voice prompts station adjustment upwards.
    • Turn down: Double click [up-arrow]. Voice prompts station adjustment downwards.
  • Store up to 6 FM Radio Stations: When favorite station found, double click [power-symbol] to save. Supports storing up to 6 stations; new stations overwrite the oldest. Click [power-symbol] to cycle through saved stations.

Maintenance & Certification

Maintenance and Care

The B4FM should be treated with care to maintain your warranty:

  • Do not use or store the device in dusty or dirty environments.
  • Do not store the device in high heat areas.
  • Do not store the device in cold temperature areas.
  • Do not attempt to open the B4FM case.
  • Do not drop or knock the device.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
  • Do not paint the device.

These suggestions apply to the headset main unit, speaker-microphone clamp unit, and power charger.

Warranty

LEXIN warrants this product to conform to published technical specifications and written materials, and to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase by the original consumer purchaser. The warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable. LEXIN's liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective products. LEXIN is not responsible for failures due to misapplication, misuse, neglect, accident, or use of non-LEXIN equipment. Limited warranty service requires delivery of the product to LEXIN or an authorized distributor with proof of purchase. Customers are responsible for shipping charges and risk of loss or damage during transit.

Waivers and General Release

By using the Product, you waive substantial legal rights and agree to this agreement, forfeiting the right to pursue legal action. You irrevocably release, indemnify, and hold LEXIN harmless for any liability, loss, claim, or expense (including attorney's fees) arising from bodily injuries, harm, death, or property damage resulting from the Product's use, regardless of circumstances or jurisdiction. You, your heirs, legal representatives, successors, or assigns voluntarily release LEXIN from all litigation, claims, debts, demands, actions, and liability that may arise from using the Product, including distress, pain, suffering, discomfort, loss, injury, death, or damages to any person or property, whether arising from negligence or otherwise. You assume all risks associated with the Product's use, including risks from negligent acts or omissions by others. You confirm you are physically capable, have no medical conditions that infringe upon safe use, are at least eighteen (18) years of age, and have been advised of the risks. You confirm you will not consume alcohol or mind-altering substances that may affect alertness before or during use. You acknowledge risks in traffic, including injury, illness, strains, fractures, paralysis, or death, which may be caused by manufacturer negligence or unforeseeable causes. You assume all risks and responsibility for any losses or damages.

RF Exposure Information

This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. Users must follow specific operating instructions for RF exposure compliance. The antenna must not transmit simultaneously with any other antenna or transmitter, except as permitted by FCC procedures. This product complies with FCC RF Exposure requirements. This device complies with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s) under two conditions: (1) it may not cause interference, and (2) it must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

This EUT complies with SAR for general population/uncontrolled exposure limits in IC RSS-102 and has been tested per IEEE 1528 and IEC 62209. Install and operate with a minimum distance of 1cm between the radiator and your body. The device and its antenna(s) must not be co-located or operating with any other antenna or transmitter.
