1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the LX-B4FM Motorcycle 4-Way Bluetooth Conference Intercom. This product offers a 1,600 meter (1 mile) bike-to-bike full-duplex intercom range, includes Bluetooth stereo wireless helmet headset(s), and is designed for installation into most open face, modular, and full-face style helmets.
With the LX-B4FM, you can:
- Call hands-free on your Bluetooth mobile phone.
- Listen to stereo music or voice instructions from GPS navigation.
- Activate wireless Intercom for rider-to-rider or rider-to-passenger conversation within a range of 1600 meters when four units are connected.
The LX-B4FM is compliant with Bluetooth Specification V3.0, supporting the following profiles: Headset Profile (HSP), Hands-Free Profile (HFP), and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It supports universal pairing with most Bluetooth headsets. The unit allows activation of Siri or S-Voice for voice dialing and commands. An integrated FM radio tuner supports station scanning.
Superior audio fidelity is provided by high fidelity, non-ported, ultra-slim helmet speakers. The headset also offers excellent wind and ambient noise reduction with its miniature boom microphone.
The main unit is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion/polymer battery, providing 10-15 hours of active use from a full charge. Standby time exceeds one week. Please read this User Manual carefully before using the product.
2. Package Contents
The package includes:
- LX-B4FM Main Unit
- Stereo HD Speaker with Interchangeable Microphone (for Open Face Helmet or Full Face Helmet)
- USB Cable
- Clip Mounting Bracket
- 3M Tape Bracket
- User Manual
How it Works
The LX-B4FM facilitates various communication modes:
- Rider-to-rider intercom: Full duplex communication between multiple riders. (Depicted with 4 motorcycles).
- Rider-to-passenger intercom: Full duplex communication between rider and passenger. (Depicted with 1 motorcycle).
- GPS Navigation: Listen to voice instructions from a GPS device. (Depicted with GPS icon).
- Mobile Phone Connectivity: Make calls and listen to music via a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone with A2DP profile. (Depicted with phone and music icons).
3. Installation Instructions
3.1 Mounting Bracket
Clip Mounting Bracket: Insert the bracket between the internal padding and external shell of the helmet. (Visuals show steps 1-4 of clipping the bracket onto a helmet).
3M Tape Bracket: If you encounter issues with the clip mounting, use the 3M tape bracket. Peel off the protective backing, adhere the bracket to the helmet, press for 15 seconds, and allow 24 hours for the glue to dry. (Visuals show steps of applying the 3M tape bracket). LEXIN recommends bracket mounting; 3M tape mounting is an option offered at the user's own risk.
3.2 Microphone Placement
For Full Helmets: Locate an area in the nose section, just left of center. Mount the button microphone to the velcro pad and connect it to the headset connector. (Visuals show placement on a helmet).
For Open Face Helmets: Adjust the microphone direction so the triangular mark points towards your mouth. (Visuals show microphone adjustment).
3.3 Speaker Placement
Place the speakers into the cheek pads. Push the speakers and microphone firmly against the Velcro pads.
3.4 Wire Routing
Press the wires into the gap between the helmet liner and shell.
Note: The speaker with the shorter wire is for the left ear, and the longer wire is for the right ear, which also helps enhance FM radio reception.
3.5 Mounting the Main Unit
Slide the LX-B4FM main unit down onto the bracket until it clicks firmly into the bottom portion of the bracket. (Visuals show steps 1-2 of sliding the unit onto the bracket).
3.6 Removing the Main Unit
To remove the main unit from the bracket, push it upwards. (Visuals show steps 1-2 of removing the unit).

Click the [Intercom Button] on unit four or unit three to disconnect those two units. (Visuals show button presses and LED indicators).
- Tips: To connect bridge units, double-click the [Intercom Button]. To connect a bridge unit with an end unit, press the [Intercom Button] once on the end units.
- Notes: A beep sound indicates the start of an intercom talk; connection may take a few seconds. If bridge units disconnect, the group disconnects. If an end unit disconnects, the other three remain connected. If a unit loses connection, the two units on the same channel remain connected; follow connecting instructions to reconnect. If a rider goes out of range, the intercom may disconnect; the LX-B4FM attempts reconnection every eight seconds (high tone double beeps). Press the [Intercom Button] to stop reconnection attempts. For successful four-rider communication, connect the two bridge units (red) first using [Intercom] + [Volume -], then connect them to the end units (blue) using [Intercom] + [Volume +]. Keep bridge units within range for continuous communication.
- Tips: Disconnect intercom units when not in use to save battery power.

6. Maintenance and Care
The LX-B4FM should be treated with care. The following suggestions will help maintain your warranty:
- 6.1: Do not use or store the device in dusty or dirty environments, as moving parts and electronic components can be damaged.
- 6.2: Do not store the device in high heat areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and warp or melt plastics.
- 6.3: Do not store the device in cold temperature areas. Moisture can form inside the device when it returns to normal temperature, potentially damaging electronic circuit boards.
- 6.4: Do not attempt to open the LX-B4FM case.
- 6.5: Do not drop or knock the device. Rough handling can break internal circuit boards and fine mechanics.
- 6.6: Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the device.
- 6.7: Do not paint the device, as paint can clog moving parts and prevent proper operation.
These suggestions apply equally to the headset main unit, speaker-microphone clamp unit, and power charger.
