Sharp AQUOS TV User Manual

Remote Control
The remote control allows you to operate various functions of your Sharp AQUOS TV.
- STANDBY: Switches the TV on or off from standby mode.
- MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the sound.
- 0-9: Selects a TV channel directly.
- TV GUIDE: Opens the 7-Day TV Guide for digital mode.
- : Returns to the previously viewed channel.
- PICTURE: Cycles through picture mode options.
- VOL +/-: Increases or decreases the sound level.
- CH +/-: Increases or decreases the channel being watched.
- SOUND: Cycles through sound mode options.
- SOURCE: Displays the input/source menu.
- MENU: Displays the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
- EXIT: Exits all menus.
- (Navigation/OK): Navigates on-screen menus and adjusts system settings.
- BACK: Returns to the previous menu.
- FAV: Displays the favorites menu.
- INFO: Shows current/next channel information (press once) or program information (press twice).
- TEXT: Enters Teletext mode.
- SUBTITLE: Toggles dialogue subtitles on/off.
- TV: Switches to the digital TV source.
- YouTube: Launches the YouTube application.
- NETFLIX: Launches the NETFLIX application.
- NET+: Displays the AQUOS NET+ menu.
- Rec¹: PVR recording function.
- : Restarts the current chapter.
- : Advances to the next chapter.
- : Stops playback.
- Rec List¹: Opens the list of recordings.
- : Plays in fast rewind mode.
- : Plays in fast forward mode.
- : Plays or pauses content.
- COLOUR BUTTONS: Provide additional Teletext and OSD functions (availability may vary).
TV Menu Navigation
To access the TV menu, press the [MENU] button on the remote control. Use the navigation buttons (///) to make changes and press [OK] to confirm. Press [EXIT] to leave the menu.
APPS
Netflix
Netflix is a leading internet television network offering a vast library of movies and TV shows. Users can play, pause, and resume content without commercials. An existing Netflix account is required for login.
YouTube
The YouTube app allows users to discover and watch original videos. For optimal performance, ensure the TV's date and time are set correctly and that your network connection is stable and fast enough.
AQUOS NET+
AQUOS NET+ provides access to the Sharp SMART portal, offering a wide range of applications and internet browsing capabilities. Access the portal by pressing the NET+ button on the remote or selecting it from the 'More Apps' menu.
Browser
The browser allows internet access. Navigation controls include CH+ (scroll up), CH- (scroll down), Red Button (show/hide menu bar), Yellow Button (zoom in), and Blue Button (zoom out).
SETTINGS
QUICK SETTINGS
- Audio Track: Selects the preferred audio language for digital TV or media.
- Subtitle: Turns subtitles on or off.
- Subtitle Track: Selects the desired subtitle track when subtitles are enabled.
- Teletext: Turns Teletext on or off.
- Record List: Displays a list of recorded TV programs from a connected USB storage device.
- Schedule List: Allows viewing of reminders and recordings.
PICTURE
Adjust picture quality settings:
- Picture Mode: Offers presets like Standard, Movie, Game, Personal, Eco, and Dynamic for various viewing conditions.
- Brightness, Contrast, Colour, Sharpness, Tint: Basic image adjustments.
- Colour Temperature: Standard, Warm, Cold, or Personal settings.
- Aspect Ratio: Options include Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Zoom 1/2, Dot by Dot (HDMI), and Full Screen to fit the display.
- Expert Settings: Advanced adjustments like Noise Reduction, Gamma, Active Contrast, Backlight, and CMS (Colour Management System) settings for fine-tuning colour and image parameters.
SOUND
Configure audio settings:
- Sound Mode: Select from Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, or Personal modes.
- DTS Studio Sound: Enables or disables surround sound effects.
- DTS DRC: Adjusts dynamic range for DTS movie soundtracks, making loud sounds quieter and quiet sounds louder.
- Speaker: Settings for TV or external speakers.
- Digital Output: Options for digital audio output (Auto, PCM, RAW).
- Digital Audio Delay / Audio Delay (ms): Synchronizes audio with video for external speakers or TV speakers.
- Auto Volume Level (AVL): Maintains a constant volume level regardless of the input source.
- Expert Settings: Adjusts Balance and Equalizer settings.
CHANNEL
Manage TV channels:
- DVB Antenna: Selects the DTV signal type (Terrestrial or Cable).
- Auto Scan: Retunes the TV for all available digital and analogue channels.
- Manual Tuning (Analogue/Digital): Manually tunes channels.
- Auto update channel list: Automatically updates channel information.
- HbbTV: Enables or disables Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV.
- LCN: Arranges channels by provider preferences.
- CAM Setting, Signal Information, Satellite Setup: Advanced settings for conditional access, signal details, and satellite configuration.
NETWORK
Configure network connections:
- Network: Select between Cable (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi connection.
- Ethernet: Manages wired network connection status and settings (Auto, Manual, Disable).
- Wi-Fi: Manages wireless network connection status and available networks.
- WPS: Provides an alternative secure connection method.
- Network Test / Network Information: Tools for testing and viewing network status.
TIME
Set the date and time:
- Time: Includes Auto Sync, Time Zone, and Daylight Saving options.
- On Time / Off Time: Schedule the TV to turn on or off at specific times.
- Sleep Timer: Sets a timer for the TV to automatically turn off.
- Auto standby: Adjusts the auto standby feature.
- OSD Timer: Controls how long the on-screen menu remains visible.
SYSTEM
Configure system preferences:
- Language: Set preferred languages for the TV interface.
- Menu Language: Changes the language of the TV menus.
- Audio/Subtitle Languages: Select primary and secondary languages for audio and subtitles.
- Lock: Options to lock the menu, set a password, lock channels, and enable Parental Guidance.
- HDMI Settings: Configure HDMI features like CEC Control, Device Auto Power Off, TV Auto Power On, HDMI ARC, and device detection.
- Source Rename: Allows renaming input sources for easier identification.
- Expert Settings: Includes options for Hearing Impaired subtitles and Store Mode demonstration.
ABOUT TV
Provides System Information, System Upgrade options, Software Update procedures (USB), OAD settings, TV reset function, and Netflix account management.
MEDIA
USB
The USB mode allows playback of various media files (photos, music, movies) stored on a USB drive. Navigate and control playback using the remote.
Miracast*
Miracast enables wireless screen mirroring from compatible smartphones or tablets to the TV screen via Wi-Fi Direct.
Media Server
Allows access to and playback of content from digital media servers connected to your home network.
SOURCES
This menu allows you to switch the TV's input signal to different connected devices or sources.
CHANNEL LIST
Activate the channel list to quickly select a channel. Options include filtering channels by type and editing the list (adding favorites, deleting, moving, or skipping channels).
7 Day TV Guide
The TV Guide provides information on upcoming programs for the next 7 days. You can view program start and end times and set reminders.
