Remote Control Overview
The remote control is designed for comprehensive TV operation. Key buttons and their functions include:
- 1. ON/OFF (STANDBY): Switches the TV on or off.
- 2. MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the sound.
- 3. Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select TV channels.
- 4. TV GUIDE: Opens the 7-day TV guide for digital broadcasts.
- 5. Returns to the previously viewed channel.
- 6. PICTURE: Cycles through available picture mode presets.
- 7. VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level up or down.
- 8. CH +/-: Changes the TV channel up or down.
- 9. SOUND: Cycles through available sound mode presets.
- 10. SOURCE: Displays the menu to select the input or source.
- 11. MENU: Displays the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
- 12. EXIT: Exits all menus and returns to the previous screen.
- 13. Navigation Buttons (/// OK): Used to navigate on-screen menus and adjust system settings according to user preferences.
- 14. BACK: Returns to the previous menu.
- 15. FAV: Displays the favorites menu for quick access to preferred channels.
- 16. INFO: Press once for current/next channel information; press twice for detailed program information.
- 17. TEXT: Accesses Teletext mode for text-based information.
- 18. SUBTITLE: Switches dialogue subtitles on or off at the bottom of the screen.
- 19. TV: Switches the TV source to digital TV.
- 20. YouTube: Launches the YouTube application.
- 21. NETFLIX: Launches the Netflix application.
- 22. NET+: Launches the AQUOS NET+ portal menu.
- 23. Rec¹: Initiates PVR (Personal Video Recorder) recording.
- 24. Restarts the current chapter or program segment.
- 25. Advances to the next chapter or program segment.
- 26. Stops the current playback.
- 27. Rec List¹: Opens the list of recorded programs.
- 28. Enables fast rewind playback.
- 29. Enables fast forward playback.
- 30. Plays or pauses the current media.
- 31. COLOUR BUTTONS: Provide additional teletext and OSD functions, often context-sensitive.
Note: Button 23 (Rec¹) is available only with the PVR function.
Applications
Netflix
Netflix is a leading internet television service offering a vast library of movies and TV shows, including original series, documentaries, and feature films. Members can play, pause, and resume content without commercials or commitments. Access requires an existing Netflix account, or users can register via the app or the official Netflix website.
YouTube
The YouTube application allows users to discover and watch original videos. For optimal performance, ensure the TV's date and time are correctly set. Network access to YouTube should not be blocked, and a stable internet connection is recommended for smooth streaming.
AQUOS NET+
AQUOS NET+ provides access to various applications and internet browsing directly from your AQUOS LCD TV. Access the AQUOS NET+ menu by pressing the [NET+] button on the remote or selecting it from the 'More Apps' menu. The portal allows access to recommended movies, TV shows, music, games, sports, and news applications.
Settings
Quick Settings
- Audio Track: Allows selection of different audio languages for digital TV or media content.
- Subtitle: Enables or disables subtitle display.
- Subtitle Track: Selects the specific subtitle track when subtitles are active.
- Teletext: Enables or disables Teletext service.
- Record List: Displays a list of recorded TV programs saved via a connected USB storage device.
- Schedule List: Allows viewing of reminders and scheduled recordings.
Picture Settings
Customize your viewing experience with various picture modes (Standard, Movie, Game, Personal, Eco, Dynamic). Adjustments are available for Brightness, Contrast, Colour, Sharpness, and Tint. Colour Temperature can be set to Standard, Warm, Cold, or Personal (Expert Settings).
Aspect Ratio options include Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Zoom 1/2, Dot by Dot (HDMI), and Full Screen to optimize the display for different content and screen sizes.
Expert Settings (Picture)
Advanced picture adjustments include Noise Reduction, Gamma, Active Contrast, Backlight control, and CMS (Colour Management System) settings for fine-tuning colour saturation, hue, and value.
Sound Settings
Choose from various Sound Modes (Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, Personal). DTS Studio Sound enhances surround audio, while DTS DRC adjusts dynamic range for movie soundtracks. Speaker settings and Digital Output options (Auto, PCM, RAW) are available, along with Audio Delay adjustments for synchronizing sound with external speakers or TV speakers. Auto Volume Level (AVL) maintains consistent volume.
Expert Settings (Sound)
Advanced sound adjustments include Balance and Equalizer settings. Audio Description and AD Volume are available for visually impaired users.
Channel Settings
Configure DVB Antenna settings (Air, Cable). Features include Auto Scan for digital and analogue channels, Manual Tuning (Analogue/Digital), Auto Update Channel List, HbbTV support, and LCN for provider-based channel ordering.
Network Settings
Connect to your network via Cable (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi. The TV supports automatic or manual IP configuration and Wi-Fi network selection. WPS is available for secure connection. Network Test and Network Information features are also included.
Time Settings
Set the date and time with options for Auto Sync, Time Zone, Daylight Saving, On Time, Off Time, Sleep Timer, and Auto Standby. OSD Timer adjusts the duration the on-screen menu remains visible.
System Settings
Customize Language, Menu Language, and preferred Audio/Subtitle Languages for DVB channels. Security features include Lock, Set Password, Channel Lock, and Parental Guidance.
HDMI Settings
Configure HDMI functionality, including CEC Control, Device Auto Power Off, TV Auto Power On, and HDMI ARC. The 'Detect' function lists connected HDMI devices. Note: HDMI CEC must be supported by the connected device.
Source Rename
This feature allows users to manually rename input sources for easier identification of connected devices.
Media
USB
The USB mode enables playback of various content types (Photo, Music, Movie) stored on a USB memory stick. Navigate and play content using the remote control.
Miracast
Miracast allows wireless screen mirroring from compatible smartphones or tablets to the TV screen via Wi-Fi Direct. It supports content sharing from devices running Android 4.4 or newer.
Media Server
Automatically searches for and plays digital media content from media servers (DMS) connected to your home network.
Sources and Channel List
Sources
This menu allows switching the TV input signal to different connected devices or sources.
Channel List
Activate the channel list to quickly select channels. Options include filtering channels by type and editing channels (adding to favorites, deleting, moving, or skipping). Users can also manage favorites and skip channels.
7-Day TV Guide
The TV Guide provides information on upcoming programs for the next 7 days, including start and end times across all channels. Users can set reminders for programs. Navigate the guide using the remote's directional buttons.
