Futaba T10PX Software Update Method

This document outlines the procedure for updating the software of your Futaba T10PX radio transmitter. Updates can provide improvements and new functions, and are available free of charge online.

Required for Update

To perform the software update, the following items are required (purchase separately):

Note: Before updating, ensure the T10PX battery is fully charged. It is also highly recommended to back up your model data before the software update to prevent any loss or changes.

Updating Procedure

  1. Download the zip file of the update data from the Futaba website or your local distributor's website. The URL is: https://futabausa.com/
  2. Extract the zip file on your computer.
  3. Insert the microSD card into your PC and copy the expanded FUTABA folder to the microSD card. If a FUTABA folder already exists, overwrite it.
  4. Insert the microSD card with the copied FUTABA folder into the T10PX transmitter.
  5. Turn on the transmitter power while pressing down the "HOME" button. The update screen will appear on the T10PX LCD, and the software update will begin.
  6. When the software update is completed, a "Completed" message will be shown on the T10PX LCD.
  7. Turn off the power of the T10PX.

Possible Problems

If one of the following error messages appears on the T10PX LCD, the software update will not be completed:

Version Check

T10PX Version Check

The version of the T10PX transmitter can be displayed by navigating through the system menus:

Screenshots illustrate navigation from Home → Menu → System menu → Information, showing details like User name, Language (English), and Unit system (Metric system).

R404SBS(E) Version Check

To check the version of the R404SBS(E) receiver:

Screenshots show the T10PX transmitter in link mode, the receiver status ("Linking..."), and the R404SBS(E) receiver itself. The receiver display shows "ID XXXXXXXX Version xx". The process involves turning on the R404SBS(E) and pressing the SW button.

Note: When using UR servos, ensure they are Ver2.0. Ver1.0 servos cannot be set wirelessly for UR mode and require an upgrade to Ver2.0.

Software Updates and Features

1. Software fix S.BUS servo screen (ACCESSORY MENU)

A problem that occurred when using SR servo on the S.BUS servo screen has been fixed.

T10PX Software Update Ver. 2.0 - Ultra Response UR Mode

1. About Ultra Response UR Mode

The T10PX F-4G system offers the fastest Futaba response when used with the Futaba New UR Servo. UR mode is compatible with F-4G systems and requires T10PX / R404SBS (E) Ver.2 or later. Updates can be downloaded from the Futaba website (https://futabausa.com/).

Procedure for changing T10PX settings

It is necessary to relink and restart the receiver power supply after changing settings.

  1. Turn on the transmitter power. From the Home screen, press [HOME] or tap [Menu]. Select [Receiver] from the Linkage menu to access the setup screen.
  2. In the F-4G system, 4 types of response settings are available for each channel: UR mode (for UR servo), SR mode (for UR/SR servo), and Analog servo. Select UR mode when using a UR servo.
  3. Bring the transmitter and receiver within 50 cm of each other (antennas not touching) and turn on the receiver power.
  4. Touch [Link] on the T10PX screen. The transmitter will enter link mode for 20 seconds.
  5. During link mode, press the receiver's link button for at least 2 seconds. The receiver's LED will change color, indicating successful linking when the T10PX beeps and displays "Link with receiver". Release the receiver button.
  6. Power cycle the receiver. If "Receiver not found" appears, linking failed; check settings and repeat.
  7. Once settings are complete, turn the receiver off and on again. Response and battery fail-safe settings take effect after restart.

Illustrations show T10PX menu navigation for Linkage menu and Receiver settings. Another illustration shows the transmitter and receiver being linked. A note states: "UR mode can only be used with the F-4G." Another note: "In UR mode ON, normal servo, ESC, and standard gyro will not operate."

Receiver Mode Precautions

⚠️Caution: Be sure to use the T10PX receiver setting and servo under predetermined conditions. Using other parts may lead to malfunction or failure to display specified performance. Futaba is not responsible for problems caused by non-genuine Futaba parts.

UR Servo Setting Change Procedure

The initial setting of the UR servo is Normal mode. To use it in UR mode, follow these steps:

Illustration shows the UR logo and text "The initial setting is Normal mode". Below it, selectable modes are shown: Normal, SR type 1, SR type 2, SR type 3, UR type 1, UR type 2, UR type 3, UR type 4.

  1. Connect the UR servo as shown. The servo has a communication port labeled "COM".
  2. Turn on the T10PX and navigate: Menu → Accessories Menu → S.Bus servo screen.

Illustrations show the T10PX menu navigation for S.Bus servo settings, reading servo data, and changing mode settings. A note states: "UR TIP: Servo parameter setting 'Frequency' - Hunting occurs when the servo frequency is set high, but this is not a malfunction. Use by lowering the frequency value."

Compatibility

Trim / Dial Function Enhancement

A function to change data on the setting screen has been added to the trim / dial function of the linkage menu. This allows changing values by trimming/dialing instead of using [-] [+] buttons.

  1. Open the Trim / Dial Settings screen and select the trim/dial to assign for changing setting data.
  2. From the list, select "Rate".
  3. Open the screen for the function you want to adjust. Data changes by operating the assigned trim/dial.

Illustrations show the Trim/Dial select screen, selecting "Rate", and an example of adjusting data on a function screen. A note explains that if the item is not selected or [-]/[+] buttons are not displayed, the data will not change.

Brake Display on Home Screen

The brake display can now be selected for the instrument panel on the home screen.

  1. Touch [Normal] on the Upper side in the Home screen settings of the Accessories menu.
  2. Touch the Instrument panel to be set on the home screen to select it.
  3. Select [Brake].

Illustrations show the Home screen settings navigation and the selection of "Brake" from the instrument panel options, displaying brake percentage and related telemetry data.

Fixed Issue

6. Fixed an issue where the current time might be initialized at startup in rare cases.
