Getting Started

Battery Installation

To install the battery pack, align the contacts on the battery with the terminals inside the battery compartment on the radio and slide the battery into place until it clicks.

Charging the Battery

Place the radio or the battery pack into the desktop charger. Connect the AC adapter to the charger and plug it into a power outlet. The LED indicator on the charger will show the charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

Estimated charging time: Approximately 3-4 hours.

Basic Operation

Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power Button on the top panel to turn the radio on or off.

Adjusting Volume

Rotate the Volume Knob ? to increase or decrease the speaker volume.

Changing Channels

Rotate the Channel Selector Dial ?️ to choose the desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are set to the same channel for communication.

Transmitting

Press and hold the PTT button. Speak clearly into the microphone ?. Release the PTT button to receive.

Receiving

When another radio transmits on the same channel, you will hear audio through the speaker ?. The LED indicator will turn green.

Advanced Features

VOX (Voice Operated Exchange)

VOX allows hands-free transmission. When enabled, the radio transmits automatically when it detects your voice. This feature can be enabled/disabled via a function button or menu setting.

CTCSS/DCS (Tone Squelch)

These features help filter out unwanted transmissions from other users on the same channel. CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) use specific tones or codes. Both parties must use the same CTCSS/DCS setting to communicate.

Scan Function

The Scan function allows the radio to automatically search through programmed channels for activity. When activity is detected, the radio stops on that channel.
