This document provides comprehensive instructions for setting up and using the FTX LC 024 BT5 Wireless Bluetooth Laser Barcode Scanner.
Getting Started
The scanner is pre-configured for optimal performance. Avoid scanning Quick Start Guide barcodes for testing purposes. If any issues arise after scanning Quick Start Guide barcodes, use the 'Initialization Configuration' barcode.
Connecting to a PC without Built-in Bluetooth (using a Dongle)
- Connect the Bluetooth dongle.
- Open Control Panel and click 'Add a device'.
- Turn on the scanner and scan the 'Pair' configuration barcode, or press and hold the trigger button for 10 seconds. The LED will flash rapidly, indicating Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Click 'Add a device'. A dialog box will appear showing 'Barcode Scanner HID'. Select the device and click 'Next'.
- Once Bluetooth installation is complete, open a text field (e.g., Notepad) to start reading and transmitting barcodes.
Connecting to a PC with Built-in Bluetooth
- Double-click the Bluetooth icon to open the 'Devices and Printers' window.
- Scan the 'Bluetooth HID Mode' barcode, then scan the 'Pair' barcode or press and hold the trigger button for 10 seconds. The blue and green indicator lights will flash, and the scanner will enter pairing mode.
- Click 'Add a device'. A dialog box will appear showing 'Barcode Scanner HID'.
- Double-click 'Barcode Scanner HID'. After hearing a 'di' sound, the Bluetooth connection is complete.
SPP Mode Connection
- Scan the 'SPP Mode' barcode.
- Search for 'Barcode Scanner SPP' on your device.
- Double-click 'Barcode Scanner SPP', wait for driver installation, and after hearing a 'di' sound, the SPP mode via Bluetooth will be connected.
Virtual COM Mode Connection
- Connect the 2.4G adapter.
- Scan the 'Virtual COM' barcode.
- Install the driver provided by the supplier. (Windows 10 will install the driver automatically).
Bluetooth HID Mode (iOS Specific)
- Show/Hide HID Keyboard (iOS): Scan the configuration barcode once to show the HID keyboard for 10 seconds, and scan again to hide it.
- Activate/Deactivate Show/Hide HID Keyboard with Double Click (iOS): After scanning the configuration barcode, quickly press the scanner's trigger button twice to show or hide the HID keyboard.
Automatic Switching Between Wired and Wireless Modes
- When connected via USB cable, the scanner automatically switches to Wired Mode and begins charging.
- When disconnected from a USB cable, it automatically switches to Wireless Mode. If it doesn't switch automatically, re-pair the device as described in the 'How to Use' section.
