Fujifilm Digital Camera Troubleshooting and Connectivity Guide
Finding the Serial Number
The serial number of your Fujifilm digital camera can be found on the bottom of the camera, the rear side of the tilt-type LCD monitor, or the back of the side terminal lid.
"CARD NOT INITIALIZED" Error
If you encounter the "CARD NOT INITIALIZED" message when inserting a media card and turning on your camera, try the following troubleshooting methods. If the issue persists, consult your Fujifilm dealer for inspection and repair of your digital camera and xD-Picture Card. For SD memory cards, contact the respective card manufacturers.
Troubleshooting Methods:
- Check for Dirt: Dirt on the media's metal terminal surface can cause this issue. Gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth.
- Check Formatting: The media may be abnormally formatted. Try formatting the media directly on the digital camera. Note: Formatting will delete all image files on the media. If your PC can recognize the media, back up your image files before formatting. Formatting on a PC may result in the camera not recognizing the media if its file system is FAT32 (except for SDHC memory cards).
Importing Photos and Videos to a PC
This section outlines the steps for transferring images and videos from your camera to a PC.
Scenario A: Using Auto Play
- When connecting your camera to a PC, a message like "Tap to choose what happens with this device" may appear automatically.
- Click "Import photos and videos".
- Note: In some cases, the process may skip to the next step without the auto play screen appearing.
- Click on thumbnail images to select the ones you wish to transfer. Click "Import" to begin the transfer. The example shows three out of four recorded images selected from an SD card. You can optionally input a folder name.
- Once the transfer is complete, the number of transferred images and their save destination will be displayed. Click "Open folder" to view the transferred images. The example shows images saved in the "Pictures library".
Scenario B: Auto Play Does Not Start
- Right-click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of the taskbar and select "File Explorer".
- Note: If a screen appears during the first connection, wait for the setup to complete.
- Open "PC", right-click the "Camera icon" under Devices and drives, and select "Import pictures and videos".
- Note: The example shows the connected state.
- If a screen appears, continue with the process.
Scenario C: Saving Selected Images
- Choose "Review, organize, and group items to import" and click "Next" to save selected images.
- Check only the images you want to save.
- Click "Enter a name" to type letters in the text box. Saved images will be classified by the "tag" of the typed letters in the next step. The example shows typing "XF10" and clicking "import" to start the transfer.
- This applies when choosing all files or specific files (e.g., the first and third file).
- Clicking "More options" in the lower-left allows you to change the save destination and set other details.
- Proceed to "Importing".
- If "Open File Explorer after import" is set, the destination folder will open automatically.
Scenario D: Saving All Images (SD Card)
- Choose "import all new items now" and click "import" to start the transfer.
- Type letters in the text box and proceed to the next step. Saved images will be classified by the "tag" of the typed letters. If no letters are typed, images are saved with a tag (folder) of the importing date.
- Proceed to "Importing".
- If "Open File Explorer after import" is set, the destination folder will open automatically.
- Choose files and click "Rename" to change file names.
- Click "select all" to select all files.
- Choose a folder and click "property" to view the folder's properties.
