Service Notes
- Chassis Removal: Remove four screws from the Rear Cabinet Panel and two screws from the top of the Cabinet. Detach speaker wires from the speaker. Slide the Chassis toward the rear of the Cabinet.
- uDSP PCB Assembly Removal: Disconnect the Ribbon cable on the uDSP PCB Assembly. Release the tabs on the plastic Stand-offs securing the uDSP PCB Assembly. Removal may be necessary for Digital Effects malfunctions.
- Bullet 15 DSP Main PCB Removal: Remove all knobs. Remove one screw at the CD Input Jack, two nuts and washers at the Input and Headphone Jacks, and two screws at the Heatsink. Desolder Transformer Leads at P1, P4, P5, P6, and P7. Disconnect Yellow and Black wires at the Power Switch (P2, P3). Disconnect Ribbon Cable at P8.

Circuit Description
Pre-Amplifier
The guitar input signal passes through a high-pass filter (U1-B) and splits into Normal and Drive channels. The Normal channel (U1-A to U3-B) is active until the Drive Select switch engages the Drive channel (U2-B to U3-B). Differential amplifier (U4-A) and follower (U4-B) adjust signal level and provide bias voltage to the uDSP effects card. The preamp is in series with the uDSP card; disconnecting the card interrupts the signal path. The signal is recovered at U6-A, amplified by U6-B to restore its level before the uDSP card. The signal then passes through the Passive Tone Control circuitry to the summing amplifier (U3-A), where it is mixed with the CD/Tape Input. It then goes through the Headphone buffer amplifier (U8-A, U8-B) to the Power Amplifier. FET Q2 mutes U6-A during power shutdown to prevent transient noise.
Power Amplifier
The power amplifier uses Current Feedback topology. The Power amplifier IC (U5) is configured as a non-inverting amplifier. Diodes D7 and D8 provide common-mode protection. Current feedback is achieved by sampling current at the negative speaker terminal and feeding it back to the inverting node of the power amplifier via R41 and C25. The negative speaker terminal is grounded through R42 and R43. FET Q1 provides a mute function at the power amplifier input.
Power Supply
Standard bridge rectifiers supply high voltage (+/- 22V). Zener regulation (D14-15) provides the +/-15V supplies. A +5V supply for the uDSP card and digital user interface is provided by U7, a 7805 regulator.
Digital User Interface
The uDSP Effects control (R65) is a linear potentiometer that generates a DC level (0-5V). This level is read by an A/D converter on the uDSP card to select the desired effect.
Digital Noise
The uDSP effects card may generate high-frequency noise (>50 kHz) as a normal byproduct of DSP processing. This noise does not impact amplifier performance but may be visible on an oscilloscope.
