1. Product Overview

Joystick and Button Functions

Joystick

Controls camera movement. Directions: Up, Left, Right, Down.

Bluetooth Shutter Button

Single tap: Photo

Long press: Video

Explanation: Press and hold the Bluetooth shutter to power on to empty the Bluetooth when smartphone did not connect gimbal.

Function Button

Used to switch working modes, power on or power off the gimbal. Refer to "Modes / Functions" for details.

2. User Guide

Attention!

• Please install the smartphone before powering on the gimbal.
• When not in use, turn off the gimbal and then remove the smartphone.

Charging

Please ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

Option 1: Charge with USB cable (user-provided).

Option 2: Remove the battery and charge it with an external charger (user-provided).

Install the smartphone

Step 1: Attach the smartphone with the quick-release adapter, ensuring it is secure.

Step 2-3: Use counterweights based on phone weight:

• Without counter weight: Phone weight < 165g (e.g., iPhone 5/5s)
• With counter weight: 165g < Phone weight ≤ 180g (e.g., iPhone 6s/6)
• With Heavy counter weight: Phone weight > 194g (e.g., iPhone 7/7 Plus / 6 Plus)

Tip: Remove the smartphone's protective casing before installation.

If not balanced, follow Step 4 for re-balancing.

Balance Adjustment

Adjust the counterweight to ensure the smartphone remains balanced in all directions. If the smartphone inclines left, add counterweight or use a heavier one. If it inclines right, remove counterweight or use a lighter one.

Power on / off

Power on: Press and hold the function button until the green light is on.

Power off: Press and hold the function button until the red light changes from quick flashing to always on.

Download and connect App

Download and install the "Feiyu ON" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play/other Android app stores.

Connecting App

Start the "Feiyu ON" app on your smartphone and follow the instructions to connect the gimbal via Bluetooth. The gimbal's Bluetooth name is typically "FY_SPG C_XX".

Attention: In case of low battery, the indicator will flash red 3 times every 5 seconds. Please charge the SPG C or replace the battery.

3. Modes / Functions

Working Modes

• Panning Mode: Tilting and rolling directions are fixed. The camera lens moves according to hand movement. (Default boot mode)
• Panning and Tilting Mode: The rolling direction is fixed. The camera lens moves according to the hand movement of the user.
• Lock Mode: The orientation of the camera is fixed.

Vertical Shooting Mode

The gimbal can be switched to vertical shooting mode by tilting it.

Note: The shutter button is only functional when the gimbal is connected to the smartphone app.

4. Mode / Function Operation Instructions

Function Button

• Single tap: Switch between Panning Mode and Lock Mode. In Panning and Tilting Mode, single tap switches to Lock Mode.
• Double tap: Make the lens rotate 180° (horizontal).
• Triple tap: Reset the tilting axis of the gimbal to initial orientation and initial mode.
• Long press until red light flashes quickly: Enter standby mode.

Trigger Button

• Long press: Enter Lock Mode. Release to return to the previous mode.
• Long press + joystick up and down: Control the App Lens Zoom.
• Double tap: Panning Reset. Restore the initial follow state of the panning.

Explanation: Single tap the function button again to wake up the gimbal, or triple tap to initialize the gimbal.

5. Firmware Upgrade

Firmware can be upgraded via PC or smartphone.

Option 1: Connect to PC

Connect the gimbal to a PC via a micro USB cable. Download necessary programs (USB driver, firmware upgrade software, product firmware) from the official website (www.feiyu-tech.com), install them, and follow the upgrade process.

Option 2: Connect to Smartphone

Connect the gimbal to your smartphone via Bluetooth using the "Feiyu ON" app. Navigate to the firmware upgrade section within the app settings. If a new firmware is available, follow the prompts to upgrade.

6. Gimbal Initialization

Initialize your gimbal in the following situations:

• When the camera is not level.
• If not used for a long period of time.
• In case of extreme temperature variations.

Adjusting steps:

1. Long press the function button and release it until the red light flashes. The gimbal enters standby mode, and the blue light flashes 3 times periodically.
2. Lay the gimbal on a static flat surface.
3. Triple tap the function button. Initialization is successful when the blue light changes from constant on to flashing 3 times periodically.

Click the function button again to wake up the gimbal.

7. Parameters

Compatible Smartphones

iPhone series, HUAWEI P9 / HUAWEI P9 Plus / Mi 5 / MEIZU MX6 / SAMSUNG NOTE 5/S7, or other smartphones with similar dimensions.
