Cleaning and Maintenance
For product claims and problems, please contact your supplying Outwell dealer.
General Care and Setup
- Upon unpacking, note the original packing method to simplify repacking.
- Select a level campsite, free from stones, branches, and sharp objects.
- Position the awning with the door facing the desired direction, considering wind direction.
- Practice pitching the awning before your trip to become familiar with the process.
Condensation Management
- Condensation may form under certain weather conditions.
- To minimize condensation, remove wet clothing and items from the awning.
- Ensure adequate ventilation or pitch the awning on an Outwell® groundsheet.
- Note: Condensation is not an indication of a leak.
Material Care and Weather Resistance
- The flysheet is made of waterproof material. Avoid contact between the interior and the inner side of the flysheet in wet weather to prevent leaks.
- Never fully tighten guy ropes; allow slack for the awning to adapt to wind and weather.
- In strong winds, replace standard pegs with storm pegs. Do not pull pegs out using guy ropes. Use robust U-shaped pegs for stony or hard ground.
- Do not spray insecticides inside or on the awning.
- Prolonged direct exposure to sunlight can damage the flysheet. Outtex® material is used to extend the awning's lifespan.
- Outwell products are designed for camping use (typically 2-5 weeks per year) and not for permanent installation. UV effects can be amplified near sea or lakes.
- The mud valance is designed to keep out wind and water and should not be pulled on to straighten the awning.
Drying and Packing
- Ensure the awning is completely dry before packing to prevent moisture damage.
- After use, wipe all metal poles with a cloth dampened with acid-free oil.
- Remove dirt using a soft sponge and clean water. Never machine wash or dry clean the awning.
- Store the awning in a dry location.
Repairing Seams
- Seam tape may loosen after repeated use. Repair by removing loose tape and applying seam sealer and waterproofing spray. Refer to www.outwell.com/FAQ for instructions.
- Minor leaks from tape can be easily re-sealed with seam sealer.
