Operating Range
The operating range graph illustrates the relationship between conveyed weight (kg) on the Y-axis and conveyed speed (m/min) on the X-axis for different RSG cylinder models (RSG40, RSG50, with and without auto switches).
Lateral Load and Operating Pressure
This section provides guidance on setting operating pressure based on lateral load. The graph shows operating pressure (P [MPa]) on the Y-axis against lateral load (F [N]) on the X-axis. It indicates that a larger lateral load requires higher operating pressure for the stopper cylinder. The graphs are applicable for round bar, roller, and non-rotating type rod end configurations.
Spring Force (Single Acting Type)
For single acting types, the spring force is provided in N {kgf}.
Bore Size (mm) | Extended | Compressed |
---|---|---|
40, 50 | 13.7 {1.4} | 27.5 {2.8} |

Auto Switch Mounting
Auto switches should be mounted following the procedure below. Ensure correct mounting to avoid diagonal bands.
Caution: Do not tighten beyond the prescribed torque. Mount so the band does not run diagonally.
Mounting Steps:
- Wrap the mounting band around the cylinder tube and position it.
- Insert the auto switch mounting area into the band's holding brackets and align the mounting hole.
- Pass the mounting screw through the hole and screw it into the band's bracket.
- Slide the assembly to the detection position and tighten the mounting screw (0.8 to 1 N-m {8.2 to 10.2 kgf-cm}).
- Adjust detection position as needed.
Auto Switch Hysteresis
Hysteresis is the distance between the position where a piston movement operates an auto switch and the position where reverse movement turns the switch OFF. This is included in the operating range.
- Reed switches: 2mm or less
- Solid state switches: 1mm or less
Note: Hysteresis can vary based on the operating environment.
Contact Protection Boxes/CD-P11, CD-P12
For applicable switch models (D-C7/C8, D-C73C/C80C), contact protection boxes are recommended when:
- The operating load is inductive.
- Wiring to the load is 5m or more.
- Load voltage is 100VAC.
Using a contact protection box can prevent premature contact wear.
Contact Protection Box Specifications
Part No. | Load Voltage | Maximum Load Current | Lead Wire Length |
---|---|---|---|
CD-P11 | 100VAC or less | 25mA | Switch connection side 0.5m, Load connection side 0.5m |
CD-P12 | 200VAC, 24VDC | 12.5mA (200VAC), 50mA (24VDC) | Switch connection side 0.5m, Load connection side 0.5m |
Contact Protection Box Internal Circuits
Descriptions of internal circuits for CD-P11 (Surge absorber, Choke coil) and CD-P12 (Choke coil, Zener diode) are provided, indicating lead wire colors for connections.
Contact Protection Box/Dimensions
Dimensional drawings and measurements for the CD-P contact protection boxes are available.
Contact Protection Box/Connection
To connect a switch unit to a contact protection box, connect the lead wire marked 'SWITCH' to the switch unit's lead wire. Keep the switch unit as close as possible to the box, with a lead wire length of no more than 1m.
Auto Switch Internal Circuits
Internal circuit diagrams are provided for various auto switch models, including Reed switches (D-C73, D-C73C, D-C76, D-C80, D-C80C) and Solid state switches (3 wire/D-H7A1, 3 wire/D-H7A2, 2 wire/D-H7B, D-H7C, 3 wire/D-H7NW, D-H7PW, D-H7BW, D-H7LF, D-H7NF).
