TERMINOLOGY AND ABBREVIATIONS
- Gateway: A Z-Wave® gateway, also called a Z-Wave® controller, Z-Wave® master controller, Z-Wave® primary controller, or Z-Wave® hub, is a device that serves as a central hub for a smart home Z-Wave® network. In this document, the term "gateway" is used.
- S button: The Z-Wave® service button, located on Z-Wave® devices, used for various functions such as inclusion (adding), exclusion (removing), and resetting the device to its factory default settings. In this document, the term "S button" is used.
- Device: In this document, the term "Device" is used to refer to the Shelly Qubino device that is the subject of this manual.
ABOUT SHELLY QUBINO
Shelly Qubino is a line of innovative microprocessor-controlled devices that allow remote control of electrical circuits with a smartphone, tablet, computer, or home automation system. They operate on the Z-Wave® wireless communication protocol, using a gateway, which is required to configure the devices. When the gateway is connected to the internet, you can control Shelly Qubino devices remotely from anywhere.
Shelly Qubino devices can operate in any Z-Wave® network with other Z-Wave® certified devices from other manufacturers. All electrical... Controlled nodes in the network will act as repeaters regardless of the vendor in order to increase the reliability of the network. The devices are designed to work with older generations of Z-Wave® devices and gateways.
WAVE PRO SERIES
The Wave Pro series is a line of devices suitable for homes, offices, shops, production facilities, and other buildings. Pro devices are mounted on a DIN-rail inside the breaker box and are exceptionally suitable for new building constructions. All Wave Pro devices can be controlled and monitored via the Z-Wave® network.
ABOUT THE DEVICE
The device is for DIN-rail mounting and allows remote control of motorized shutters, roller shutters, Venetian blinds, awnings, etc. It measures the power consumption of the connected device. It is recommended to use only motors with electronic or mechanical limit switches. The motor limit switches must be set correctly before connecting the device to the motor.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The device can be mounted on a DIN connector inside the breaker box.
For installation instructions, refer to the wiring diagrams (Fig. 1-2) in this user manual.
ATTENTION! Electric shock hazard. The installation/setup of the Device to the electrical grid must be performed with caution by a qualified electrician.
ATTENTION! Electric shock hazard. Any changes to the connections must be made after ensuring that there is no voltage on the device terminals.
ATTENTION! Use the device only with an electrical grid and appliances that comply with all applicable regulations. Short circuit in the electrical grid or any appliance connected to the Device may damage it.
ATTENTION! Do not connect the Device to appliances exceeding the specified maximum load!
ATTENTION! Leave at least 10 mm clearance around each Pro device if you expect currents higher than 5 A per channel.
ATTENTION! Connect the Device only in the manner shown in these instructions. Any other method may cause damage and/or injury.
ATTENTION! Do not install the Device in places where it can get wet.
ATTENTION! Do not use the Device if it is damaged!
ATTENTION! Do not attempt to service or repair the Device yourself!
ATTENTION! Use only a single-phase AC circuit. Do not use mixed AC and DC circuits.
ATTENTION! Before starting the installation of the Device, check that the circuit breakers are switched off and there is no voltage on their terminals. This can be done with a mains voltage tester or a multimeter. Once you are sure there is no voltage, you can proceed with connecting the wires.
ATTENTION! Do not allow children to play with the buttons/switches connected to the Device. Keep Shelly Qubino remote control devices (mobile phones, tablets, computers) away from children.
ATTENTION! Do not shorten the antenna.
RECOMMENDATION: Place the antenna as far as possible from metal elements, as they can cause signal interference.
RECOMMENDATION: Connect the Device using solid single-core wires or stranded wires with ferrules. The wires must have a heat-resistant insulation not less than PVC T105°C (221°F).
RECOMMENDATION: For inductive loads that cause voltage spikes during switching on/off, such as electric motors, fans, vacuum cleaners, and the like, an RC suppressor (0.1 µF / 100 Ω / 1/2 W / 600 VAC) must be connected in parallel to the load.
Connect the two L terminals to the phase conductor and the N terminal to the neutral conductor. Connect the common terminal/wire of the motor to the neutral conductor. Connect the motor direction terminals/wires to terminals 01 and 02.* Connect the first switch/button to terminal SW1 and the phase conductor. Connect the second switch/button to terminal SW2 and the phase conductor.
*The device outputs can be reconfigured to match the required direction of rotation.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
If the inputs are configured as buttons (Fig. 1):
- Pressing the button when the shutter is static moves it in the corresponding direction until the limit position is reached.
- Pressing the button for the same direction while the shutter is moving stops it.
- Pressing the button for the reverse direction while the shutter is moving reverses its movement until the limit position is reached.
If the inputs are configured as switches (Fig. 2):
- Switching on the switch moves the shutter in the corresponding direction until the limit position is reached.
- Switching off the switch stops the shutter movement.
NOTE: This device does not support the use of two separate ON/OFF switches. It is recommended to use a single double-position center-off switch.
AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION
Automatic calibration is a process during which the device memorizes the position of the limit switches. A successful calibration is indicated when the device completes a full movement cycle: up, down, up, down to 50%.
Note! For correct position operation, the device must perform a calibration procedure!
Note! The motor must be equipped with electronic or mechanical limit switches and the limit positions must be set correctly before calibration!
Automatic calibration with SW1 button:
Note! Calibration with the SW1 button is not time-limited and can be started at any time.
- Move the shutter to the uppermost (top) position.
- Press SW1 4 times within 3 seconds.
- The device will start calibration and perform 3 cycles: down, up, down to 50%.
- Check the LED status to see if the calibration was successful.
Automatic calibration with S button:
Note! Calibration with the S button is not time-limited and can be started at any time.
- Enter setup mode by pressing the S button for less than 0.5 seconds (short press).
- Continue pressing the S button until you select calibration, which is indicated by the yellow LED color.
- Start calibration by pressing the S button for more than 2 seconds.
- The device will start calibration and perform 3 cycles: down, up, down to 50%.
- Check the LED status to see if the calibration was successful.
VENETIAN MODE
NOTE: For more information on Venetian mode and this device in general, refer to the extended user manual.
