Important Safety Information

WARNING: Read all instructions and warnings carefully before beginning assembly.

• Always use proper tools.
• Follow assembly steps in order; do not skip any.
• Check all packing materials for small parts. Contact retailer for missing parts; do not use substitute parts.
• Periodically check that all connectors (bolts, screws) are tight.
• Keep instructions for future reference.
• Handle glass or mirrors with extreme care to avoid severe injury if broken. Never handle large pieces alone.
• When assembling products with electrical cords, ensure the cord is unplugged before assembly and avoid twisting it.
• Use a step ladder for assembling higher shelves; do not stand on lower shelves.
• Do not stand on tables (end tables, coffee tables, dining tables) as they are not designed to support a person's weight.
• If assembly requires two or more people, do not attempt alone due to risk of injury.

Bunk Bed Specific Safety Warnings:

• Assembly requires two or more adults. Allow approximately 60 minutes for assembly.
• Do not tighten any bolts until all bolts have been started.
• Replacement parts, including additional guardrails, can be obtained from Ashley Furniture dealers or by calling 1-800-477-2222.
• Do not allow children under six (6) years of age to use the upper bunk.
• Always use guardrails on both long sides of the upper bunk.
• Prohibit horseplay on or under beds.
• Prohibit more than one person on the upper bunk.
• Use the ladder for entering or leaving the upper bunk.
• If the bunk bed is placed next to a wall, the guardrail that runs the full length of the bed should be placed against the wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and the wall.
• Follow information on warning labels appearing on the upper bunk end structure and carton. Do not remove warning labels from the bed.
• Always use the recommended size mattress or mattress support, or both, to help prevent entrapment or falls.
• The surface of the mattress must be at least five inches (127mm) below the upper edge of guardrails.
• Periodically check and ensure guardrails, ladder, and other components are in their proper position, free from damage, and that all connectors are tight.
• Do not use substitute parts. Contact the manufacturer or dealer for replacement parts.
• Use of a night light may provide added safety precaution for a child using the upper bunk.
• The use of water or sleep flotation mattresses is prohibited.
• Strangulation Hazard: Never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to, hooks, belts, and jump ropes.
• Prohibit jumping on beds.

Mattress Size Requirements:

• Width: Between 37-1/2" (952mm) and 38-1/2" (978mm) (Twin size).
• Length: Between 74" (1880mm) and 75" (1905mm).
• Thickness: No thicker than 7" (178mm).

Always disassemble the bed prior to moving to a new location.

Hardware:

• Bolts: 1/4" x 20mm
• Bolts: 1/4" x 35mm
• Bolts: 1/4" x 55mm
• Other: 1/4"

Assembly Steps

1. Step 1: Connect side rails (A, B) to headboard/footboard posts (C, D). Use bolts (S) and nuts (U) for connections.
2. Step 2: Connect the other set of side rails (E, F) to headboard/footboard posts (G, H). Use bolts (S) and nuts (U) for connections.
3. Step 3: Attach support rails (R) to the posts (C, D, G, H) using bolts (U).
4. Step 4: Attach guardrails (K) to the top frame. Use bolts (R, S, U) for secure attachment.
5. Step 5: Attach the second set of guardrails (K) to the top frame. Use bolts (R, S, U) for secure attachment.
6. Step 6: Install bed slats (L, P) onto the frame. Use bolts (R, U) to secure the slats.
7. Step 7: Attach the ladder (M) to the frame. Use bolts (R, U) for secure attachment.
8. Step 8: Final assembly check. Ensure all parts are securely fastened and the unit is stable.
