Noctua NV-FM1 User Manual
Versatile Mounting for 120mm and 140mm Fans
Product Overview
The NV-FM1 is a versatile pivoting fan mount suitable for 120mm and 140mm fans. It can be used as a simple stand for desktops or flat surfaces, and can also be attached to walls, ceilings, furniture, or other objects using its mounting holes for screws and slots for zip ties.
Applications range from desktop and ceiling fans to cabinet ventilation and cooling of 3D printer components. It can also be used to create extra airflow for heat-emitting devices like heaters or convection ovens for improved energy efficiency, or to cool other devices such as routers or switches.

NV-FM1 Configuration for 140/120mm Fans
The NV-FM1 comes pre-configured for 120mm fans. To adapt it for 140mm fans:
- Loosen the 4 base screws.
- Adjust the position of the two side brackets so the mounting holes align with the "140mm" marked holes on the base.
- Retighten the screws to the base.

Fan Installation
To install a fan, use the included screws or NA-AV2 anti-vibration mounts. The fan can be installed on either side of the mounting bracket according to user preference.

Installing the NV-AA1-12 Airflow Amplifier
To install a fan (e.g., NF-A12x25) with the optional NV-AA1-12 airflow amplifier:
- First, replace the pre-installed anti-vibration pads on the fan's outlet side with the anti-vibration gasket included with the amplifier.
- Then, screw the NV-AA1-12 to the fan and the complete assembly to the NV-FM1.

NV-FM1 Installation
The NV-FM1 can be mounted using its integrated magnets, screws, or zip ties. Users are responsible for ensuring secure mounting. Choose the most suitable mounting method for the specific application and environment. Exercise extreme caution when mounting in positions where inadequate securing could lead to the mount falling (e.g., ceilings, walls).

Magnetic Mounting
Simply place the NV-FM1 onto a flat, magnetic surface (e.g., metal plates) to attach it via the integrated magnets in the base.
Do not use magnetic mounting on surfaces exceeding 90°C or if the NV-FM1 has been exposed to temperatures of 90°C or higher, as this may reduce magnet strength. Ensure the mounting surface is flat, as uneven surfaces may reduce magnetic holding force.
Zip Tie Mounting
Zip tie mounting is useful for cylindrical objects like poles, bars, or pipes, as well as various types of grilles. Insert the included zip ties through the indicated mounting slots and around the object, then tighten the zip ties.
Screw Mounting
Attach the NV-FM1 to the mounting surface using the specific mounting holes for screws.
The NV-FM1 includes universal standard screws and wall anchors suitable for common wall and ceiling types like brick, concrete, or plaster. Screws can also be used in wood. Always verify the mounting location is suitable and ensure screws are firmly seated after installation. Use custom screws or anchors if necessary.
Use 6mm diameter drill bits for the included wall anchors. Adjust screw positions in the slotted mounting holes to slightly rotate the NV-FM1 if needed.
