Living With Your Robot
Prepare Your Home:
- Your robot uses sensors to navigate around obstacles.
- Obstructions: Remove cords and objects smaller than 11.5 cm in height from floors for best coverage. Open interior doors to ensure a complete map.
- Stairs: Cliff sensors prevent the robot from falling. Ensure rugs or carpets are at least 20cm from stairs or extend over the edge of stairs.
- Scheduling: Schedule whole-home vacuuming runs with the app.
- Carpet Mapping: The robot will identify carpeted areas during its initial explore run. If carpets are moved, re-mapping may be needed.
Doorways and Thresholds:
Your robot can climb over most thresholds up to 2.5cm. For higher thresholds, set up a no-go zone in the app.
Avoid Moving the Robot or Self-Empty Base:
Moving the robot or base during cleaning will impact mapping. If the base is moved, remapping is required.
Start Mopping Mode Manually:
If the base has enough water and a mop pad is attached, press the WET icon on the robot or start a wet clean in the app.
Manual Setup:
- Fill the robot water reservoir with water.
- Attach a mop pad to the pad plate.
- Attach the pad plate and insert the robot dust bin.
- Press the WET icon on the robot to begin mopping.
Can't Connect to Wi-Fi?
Shark Robots use 2.4 GHz networks. Typical home Wi-Fi supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
- Troubleshooting Steps:
- Restart your phone.
- Reboot your robot by pressing and holding the DOCK icon for 5-7 seconds, then placing it back on the base.
- Reboot your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
- Follow app instructions for Wi-Fi setup.
Robot Base Set-Up
- Place the base against a wall on a level, bare floor in a central area with a strong Wi-Fi signal. Avoid placing it near heating elements or in direct sunlight.
- Remove all packaging from the robot and base.
- Ensure there is 0.3m clearance on the sides and 0.6m clearance in front of the base. Carpeted floors should be at least 1.2m away from the front of the base.
- Plug in the base. The indicator light will illuminate green when powered.
