Range of Application
This submersible pump is usually installed in basements, providing protection from flooding. Additionally, the pump can be used for transporting water from one spot to another, e.g., at home, in agriculture, in gardening, for sanitary work, and so forth.
Resistance
- The maximum temperature of the pumped liquid should not exceed +35 °C in continuous operation.
- The pump must not be used to pump flammable, gassing, or explosive liquids.
- The pump must not be used to pump other liquids, especially motor fuels, cleaning agents, or other chemical products.
Installation
The pump is installed in a fixed position, either with fixed or flexible tubing.
Attention!
- When installing the pump, do not freely suspend it by its pressure line or power cable. The submersible motor pump needs to be hung up by the appropriate handle or placed on the floor of the shaft.
- To ensure the impeccable functioning of the pump, the shaft floor needs to be kept free of mud and dirt of any kind.
- If the water level is too low, the mud on the shaft floor might quickly dry and hinder the pump from starting. It is therefore necessary to regularly check the pump (by performing tests before operation).
- The float switch is adjusted to allow the pump to start immediately.
Note: The pump shaft should have a minimum size of 40×40×50 cm, so that the float switch can move freely.
Mains Connection
The purchased pond pump is equipped with a protection plug. It is meant to be connected to a 220/230 V~50 Hz safety socket. Ensure the socket is sufficiently protected (min. 6 A) and fully functional. Plug in the plug, and the pump is operational.
Note: If the cable or the plug is damaged due to external influences, the cable must not be repaired. It must be replaced with a new one by an electrician.
Operation Settings
After carefully reading all information and instructions, the pump can be operated by following these steps:
- Check if the pump is resting on the bottom of the shaft.
- Check if the pressure line is properly attached.
- Check if the electric source is 230 V~50 Hz.
- Check if the socket is in a good condition.
- Make sure that the electrical connections and circuits are sufficiently protected from moisture and water.
- Do not allow the pump to run dry.
Maintenance Guidelines
This submersible pump is a certified quality product subject to strict final inspection. Regular inspection and maintenance are recommended to ensure a longer lifespan and interruption-free operation.
Important Instructions!
- Properly disconnect the pump from its power supply by removing its plug from the socket before performing any maintenance work.
- In case of the pump being transported or moved around a lot, clean it with clear water after every use.
- If the pump remains stationary for a longer time, check the function of its lock switch every 3 months.
- Fibrous material that might have accumulated within the pump housing should be removed with water.
- Every 3 months, the shaft bottom should be freed from mud.
- Remove residues on the float switch with clear water.
Cleaning the Impeller
If there are excessive residues collected in the pump casing, the bottom part of the pump needs to be demounted as follows:
- Remove the suction cage from the housing of the pump.
- Clean the impeller with clear water.
- Important! The pump must not be placed or supported on the impeller.
- Follow the previous steps in reverse order to reassemble the pump.
Setting the Switch-Point
Fix the cable of the float switch to the cable clip found on the casing of the pump to set the desired switch-on and switch-off height.
- The float switch is installed so that the switch-on and switch-off point can be reached without any problem. To check this, place the pump into a container filled with water, carefully lift the float switch by hand and lower it again. Observe if the pump switches itself on and off.
- To ensure the pump switches itself on and off properly, the length of the cable comprised between the float switch and fixing clip must be a minimum of 10 cm.
- When setting the float switch, make sure that the water has a minimum level of 15 mm to prevent the pump from running dry.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Pump does not start | No power supply | Check power supply. |
Float switch does not switch | Place float switch in a higher position. | |
No flow | Inlet filter clogged | Clean inlet filter with water stream. |
Pressure hose kinked | Adjust hose. | |
Pump does not switch off | Float switch cannot sink | Place pump properly on the shaft floor. |
Insufficient flow | Inlet filter clogged | Clean inlet filter. |
Reduced pumping performance due to dirty water or water containing abrasive material | Clean pump and replace worn parts. | |
The pump switches itself off after short running period | Thermal switch stops pump due to waste water. | Pull power plug. Clean pump and shaft. |
Water too hot, thermal switch stops pump | Ensure that the maximal water temperature does not exceed 35 °C. |
