The Smart Pet Feeder with Camera Version is an automatic feeding device designed for various small pets. It allows users to schedule feeding times, control portions, and monitor their pets remotely via a camera and a mobile application.

Assembly and Preparation for Setting

1. Connecting Power

  1. Insert the 5V power adapter into a wall socket and plug the power cable into the feeder.
  2. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit. Install 4 Alkaline AA batteries (not included) for backup power in case of an outage.
  3. The LCD screen will light up automatically, indicating the feeder is on.

2. Assemble the Food Hopper

Assemble the food hopper by following these instructions:

3. Filling Food Tank

Fill the food tank with dry pet food. Close the lid and lock the safety lock.

Note:

  1. Do not use canned, wet, or moist pet food.
  2. Recommended kibble size ranges from 5-10mm (0.12–0.4 inches) in diameter.

4. Assemble the Food Tray

  1. Align the bulging part of the food tray with the holes in the base and push upward to connect the two.
  2. Place the stainless steel feeding plate onto the food tray.

Button and Display Description

The feeder features an indicator light and three main buttons:

Start Recording: Press and hold for 3 seconds. A beep sound indicates recording has started (within 10 seconds). Press again with two beeps to stop and save the recording.

Delete Recording: Short click for 2 seconds.

Check Recording: Short click once to broadcast the recording.

? WIFI Reset ButtonReset the Wi-Fi by long pressing for 10-30 seconds. A "DingDong" sound will be heard, and the LED will start blinking blue, indicating the device is ready for connection.
? Feeding ButtonWhen pressed, the recorded voice will broadcast first before dispensing food.

App Installation

Download and install the "Smart Life" App on your mobile device. It is compatible with both Android and iOS systems.

Search for "Smart Life" on Google Play (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS).

Note: Make sure to enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone before attempting to connect the device.

App Logging In and Feeder Connecting

Log in to the App

  1. Open the "Smart Life" App.
  2. Click "Register" to create an account. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Note: One device can only be attached to one account at a time, but one account can connect to multiple devices and be used on multiple phones.

Add the Feeder

After logging into the App, click the "+" icon at the upper right corner to add the feeding device.

Note: Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi with favorable network speeds.

Connect the Feeder to WLAN (Wi-Fi)

  1. When the blue indicator on the feeder is on, long-press the "WIFI Reset button" on the center of the feeder until it buzzes like "Ding-Dong", then release it.
  2. On the app, click the option "Make sure the indicator is flashing quickly or prompt tone is heard" then click "Next".
  3. Select your Wi-Fi Network and type the password, then click "Next".
  4. A QR code will be generated on your phone. Use the feeder's camera to scan it at a distance between 10-20cm until you hear a "beep" sound.
  5. On the app, click the option "I Heard a Prompt".
  6. Wait for the device to be connected.

After Connection

After successful connection, click the "Done" option to enter the video and controlling interface.

  1. Click "schedule" to set the meal.
  2. Enter the meal setting interface.
  3. Click "Add timing" to set the time and portion.
  4. Set the meal time and meal portions.
  5. Set the cycle (normally from Monday to Wednesday-Day).

  2. If the connection fails, try using the device hotspot connection method.

Device Hotspot Connection

Note: First, check that the feeder's blue indicator is flashing blue slowly. Then click the "QR code scan" on the top right corner to switch to "WIFI-Mode".

  1. Select "AP Mode".
  2. Enter the Wi-Fi connection interface to connect to the Wi-Fi Network and type the password. Then click "Next".
  3. Connect your mobile phone to the device's Wi-Fi (SmartLife-xxxx). Note: No password is required for this Wi-Fi.
  4. Wait for them to be connected.
  5. After properly connected, click "Done" to enter the video interface.

Remove the Device

  1. Press and hold the device icon for 3 seconds to enter the device removal interface.
  2. Click the option "Remove Device".
  3. Click "Confirm" when prompted with a message "Delete device or dismiss group".

Notice: To protect the individual details of all users, one device can only be logged in to one account. If you want another user to use your device, remember to remove the device from your phone first.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the reason for cellphone connection issues and how to handle it?

A: Check whether the machine is functioning properly. Observe the device indicators; normally, the blue light should be flashing or solid blue. Check if the feeder has been connected to Wi-Fi. Search for the feeder's Wi-Fi signal on the cellphone, which should be named "Smartlife-xxx". Uninstall and reinstall the App, ensuring you authorize the App the right to acquire location information during installation. Check whether your router has set up a restriction on the number of online devices. It is recommended that WPA/WPA2 PSK encryption be applied. Please use the 2.4 GHz network only.

Q: How to re-connect the device to the network quickly after it is disconnected?

A: 1. Exit the App, click it again, and wait for the data to update. 2. If issues persist, try powering the device off and on.

Q: Why can I not log in to my account?

A: Ensure your network is working. Then, check if your account has already been logged in on another mobile phone. Remember to delete the device from the mobile phone in time if you want to use another phone to control it.

Cleaning & Care

It is recommended to clean the feeder regularly for your pet's health. The washable parts of the feeder include the food tank, food tray, and lid (without the desiccant bag). These parts can be put into a dishwasher or submerged in water.

Disassembly for Cleaning:

  1. Press the release button to detach the food hopper from the main unit.
  2. Twist and pull the food tank upwards to separate it from the main unit.
  3. Remove the lid from the food tank.
