BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine Membrane Filter Cartridges
Technical Data Sheet
BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges are optimally adapted to the requirements for microbiological safety and long service life for the final filtration of wine and sparkling wine. They perfectly combine long durability with the complete preservation of the precious taste and color of wines.
Features and Benefits
- The asymmetric polyethersulfone membrane offers high microbiological stabilization and integrity can be tested.
- The large filter surface area and the asymmetric structure of the polyethersulfone membrane provide high yields and exceptional durability.
- Thanks to the special design, the membrane filter cartridge withstands a differential pressure of up to 5 bar in the forward direction and 2 bar in the reverse direction. This also contributes to a long service life.
- High thermal stability allows for over 100 steam sterilization cycles.
- Preserves the precious flavor and color of wines.
- For economical supplementary filtration, Eaton can recommend optimal combinations with pre-filters and membrane cartridges.
Structure
BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges are manufactured with high-quality polyethersulfone membranes. The membranes are protected by polypropylene support fleece and offer high chemical compatibility. The internal and external polypropylene support structures ensure maximum mechanical stability.

Sterilization
Steam Sterilization
Steam at 110°C / 50 kPa (0.5 bar). Duration: at least 20 minutes after steam has exited all filtration system openings.
Sterilization with Hot Water
Hot water at max. 90°C. Duration: at least 30 minutes after reaching 85°C at all filtration system openings. Water must be demineralized and filtered (approx. 1 µm) to prevent scale deposits, which can cause premature clogging of the filter cartridge.
Disposal
For disposal, BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges must be treated as industrial waste. However, please note that the directives of the competent local authorities regarding the filtered product must also be observed.
Storage
Filter cartridges must be stored in original packaging in a dry, odor-free location, protected from UV light.
Filter cartridges must be used within 60 months of the production date.
Regeneration
After each use, BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges must be flushed in counter-pressure, in the product flow direction, with filtered (approx. 1 µm) and demineralized water. This effectively removes deposited soluble turbidity substances such as polysaccharides (glucans), proteins, tannins, tartaric acid crystals, etc. With hot water (80°C) and prompt action, it is normally possible to remove even resistant blockages. Hot water can remain in the filter overnight.
Note: Detailed instructions for regeneration and chemical cleaning are provided in our User Instructions 3 A 4.3.5.1.
Quality Control
During the production process, BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges are continuously monitored for consistent and high product quality and undergo a 100% integrity test during production.
Safety
No negative effects are known when used according to specifications and with proper workmanship. For BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine filter cartridges, no safety data sheet is required.
There is no danger to people or the environment during storage, handling, and transport.
