Human Touch PC086 Serenity Plus Zero-Gravity Recliner

Use & Care Manual

Welcome to Human Touch®

Where heat, waves, weightlessness and beauty come together lies serenity—The Perfect Chair Serenity® Plus, to be exact. This amazing zero-gravity recliner seamlessly integrates earth's natural elements and the healing arts of the Far East into an amazingly luxurious top-grain leather chair that soothes tired, aching muscles, elevating the body to a new state of comfort and relaxation.

Inspired by the neutral body posture chaise position developed by NASA to support astronauts' ascent into orbit, the Perfect Chair's frame ergonomics put the body in a virtually weightless position that physicians recommend as the healthiest way to sit. Within the chair lies an equally stunning advancement—jade stones that radiate far-infrared heat up to three inches into muscle tissue to create healing warmth that can be felt long after you leave the chair. Add to that full-body, gentle-wave therapy and you've reached the perfect bliss. Or, Serenity, as we call it.

To ensure that you don't overlook any of your chair's features, and that you use it safely, read this manual carefully. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Servicing of Double Insulated Products

In a double-insulated product, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated product, nor is a means for grounding to be added to the product. Servicing a double-insulated product requires extreme care and knowledge of the system, and is to be done only by qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for a double-insulated product must be identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated product is marked with the words "DOUBLE INSULATION" or "DOUBLE INSULATED." The symbol [square within a square] is also able to be marked on the product.

Get Ready

Unpack the box

Contents include:

Incline the chair

  1. Plug the chair into an appropriate power source.
  2. Push down on the recline lever to incline the chair to the upright position.
  3. Unplug the chair.

Your Human Touch Perfect Chair requires some simple assembly. Simply fold the seat pad forward, slide the backrest pad onto the chair frame, connect the heat and air connectors, reinstall the seat pad, and you're done!

Partially remove the seat pad

  1. Detach the flaps that secure the top of the seat pad to the chair frame.
  2. Lift the seat pad upward and fold it forward, to expose the chair canvas.
  3. Open the chair canvas zipper to expose the air hose connectors.

Install the headrest frame

  1. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the two screws from the back of the headrest frame.
  2. With the headrest frame positioned so that the headrest can tilt forward, slide the two ends of the headrest frame into the open tube ends of the chair frame.
  3. Replace the two headrest frame screws and secure them using a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Place the plastic headrest frame protector

Place the plastic protector over the headrest frame and pull it down over the backrest frame as far as it will go (this protects the backrest pad from getting caught on the frame during assembly).

Install the backrest pad

  1. Standing behind the chair, gently slide the backrest pad downward onto the chair frame, using a side-to-side motion.
  2. Smooth the flap on the bottom rear of the backrest pad upward against the chair frame to secure it using the hook-and-loop fasteners.
  3. From the front of the chair, connect the backrest heater cable connector to the corresponding connector on the chair base.
  4. Connect the backrest air hose connector to the corresponding connector from the seat pad.
  5. After connecting the backrest air hose connector to the corresponding seat air connector, secure the two connectors together using the two provided zip ties.
  6. Close the chair canvas zipper.

Reinstall the seat pad

  1. Fold the seat pad forward into position.
  2. Wrap the bottom flaps on the top edge of the seat pad around the chair frame, then secure them using the hook-and-loop fasteners.
  3. Smooth the top flaps on the top edge of the seat pad up into the backrest to secure the two pads together using the hook-and-loop fasteners.
  4. Tuck the flaps on each side of the seat pad between the seat and the armrest, then smooth them against the bottom of the chair to secure them using the hook-and-loop fasteners.

Attach the headrest pillow

Attach the headrest pillow to the headrest using the hook and loop fasteners.

Take a Seat

Plug it in

Plug the chair into an appropriate power source.

Adjust the Recline Angle

Before adjusting the recline angle, be sure there is nothing located directly behind or beneath the chair. Gently push down on the electric recline lever to recline, or pull up on the lever to adjust the angle forward. Release the lever when you reach the desired angle. The chair automatically stops when you reach the maximum recline or the full upright position.

NOTE: Lean back against the backrest before reclining the chair. Do not put any extra pressure on the footrest while reclining, as this may prevent the footrest from properly deploying and locking.

When adjusting the footrest up and down, you may notice a slight bumping sensation. This is caused by the footrest locking mechanism, and is perfectly normal.

Adjust the Headrest

While seated, reach up with both hands and grasp both sides of the headrest. You will feel the rigid frame beneath the soft headrest pad. Grasping the rigid frame, tilt the headrest forward or backward for maximum comfort. The headrest remains in this position until you adjust it again.

NOTE: From time to time your headrest screws may need tightening. DO NOT attempt to remove the backrest pad without disconnecting the heater cable and air hoses - doing so will likely cause permanent damage to the heater wiring. See Fig. 7 on Page.

Getting out of the Perfect Chair

While seated, pull up gently on the electric recline lever until the backrest automatically stops in a full upright position and the footrest automatically stops in a vertical position (the backrest stops before the footrest). Use the armrests for support when getting up from the chair.

Take Control

Now add heat and gentle-wave air. With the touch of a button, transform the perfect seating experience into true serenity. Choose from three different heat levels, enjoy soothing full-body gentle-wave therapy, or combine them. The choice is yours—and it's all at your fingertips.

Jade

Toggle between high (III), medium (II) and low (I) far-infrared heat.

NOTE: The jade stones continue to heat slowly as long as the heat is running. The heat automatically turns off after 30 minutes, as this is the recommended duration. Wait 30 minutes before starting another session.

Wave

Turn the soothing gentle-wave therapy on or off.

Strategically positioned jade stones and air cells provide targeted full-body relief.

HT Wellness Council Insight

"The Jade found in the Serenity® chair consists of many of the same elements found in the human body. Because they emit similar frequencies, the vibration from the jade stones goes deeper into the cells while the far-infrared heat penetrates the muscle layer. The result is better circulation, increased oxygen in the blood and fast recovery from pain and disease."
