Getting Started

Step 1: Download the Ruko Drone App

Download the Ruko Drone App from the App Store or Google Play Store by scanning the provided QR codes. This app is essential for controlling the drone and accessing flight features.

Step 2: Charge the Batteries

Connect the drone battery to a charger (minimum 15W) using a USB cable. Ensure the battery is fully charged before the first flight. A charging indicator light will show the charging status.

Step 3: Prepare the Drone

Unfold the drone's four arms. Gently extend each arm until it locks into place, ensuring a stable structure for flight.

Step 4: Prepare the Transmitter

Unfold the remote control's antenna for optimal signal reception. Unfold the handle to hold the remote comfortably. Insert the battery into the remote control.

Step 5: Select an Open Flight Area

Choose a spacious, open area for flying, free from obstacles such as buildings, trees, and power lines. A designated landing pad (often circular with an 'H' symbol) is recommended. Ensure the drone operates at a safe altitude, ideally above 65 feet (approximately 20 meters), and away from ground-level obstructions.

Step 6: Power On the Aircraft and Transmitter

Important Note: Please turn on the Aircraft first, then the Transmitter. Failure to follow this sequence may prevent pairing.

Press and hold the power button on the drone until it plays a startup sound. Then, short-press the power button on the transmitter to turn it on.

Step 7: Connect to Wi-Fi

On your mobile device, navigate to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (e.g., 'RUKO-GIM-******'). Once connected, open the Ruko Drone app and tap the 'CONTROLS' icon to access flight controls.

Step 8: Calibrate the Drone

Compass Calibration: Rotate the drone horizontally 360 degrees (approximately 1-2 turns), then vertically 360 degrees (approximately 1-2 turns) to calibrate the compass.

Gyroscope Calibration: On a level surface, push both joysticks on the transmitter to the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions simultaneously for about 2 seconds. This calibrates the gyroscope.

Gimbal Self-inspection: Place the drone on a level surface and allow it to perform a gimbal self-inspection for about 20 seconds.

Step 9: Prepare for Flight

GPS Signal Acquisition: The drone will automatically search for GPS signals. Wait until at least 3 GPS bars are acquired, indicated by solid blue lights, for stable flight. The search time may vary depending on the environment.

Start Motors: To start the motors, push both joysticks on the transmitter to the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions simultaneously for about 2 seconds.

Take Off: To initiate takeoff, push the left joystick upwards smoothly.

The gyroscope is not calibratedPlace the Aircraft on a horizontal surface and conduct gyroscope/horizontal calibration. Please refer to the "Calibration Before Flight" section of the User Manual.
The propellers become deformed and incompleteReplace the propellers with new ones.
GPS signal is unstable. Flying near buildings and in obstructed placesPlease fly the Aircraft in an open area free of obstacles within the circle of radius 32.81 ft (10 meters).
Out of control, spinning around on its own, abnormal soundThe Transmitter signal is interfered or the Aircraft exceeds the range of remote controlPlease fly the Aircraft outdoors without interference, and ensure that it is within a controllable range.
Compass interferencePlease manually land the drone in time and calibrate the compass. Please make sure to fly away from the buildings, trees, power lines, and signal towers.
The Gimbal is not workingThe propellers become deformed and incompleteReplace the propellers with new ones.
When Fly from the grass, the gimbal touches the grassPut the drone on landing pad or cardboard to prevent the gimbal from hitting with other objects.
When fly from the wooden floor, vibration will be transmitted through the floorTake off the drone from the place without vibrations.
The gimbal is interfered by external forces or the drone is picked up during self-inspectionPut the Aircraft on the level ground without touching. The gimbal will start to work after 40 seconds.
When turning on the drone on the desk, the desk will amplify the subtle vibrations into high-frequency vibrationsTurn on the drone on the place without vibrations.
The compass is in calibratingPut the Aircraft on level ground after compass calibration. The gimbal will start to work after 20 seconds.
