1. Learning How to Fly

To operate the drone effectively, it is essential to understand its performance, settings, and operation. The available learning resources include:

2. Flight Environment and Signal Interference

Obstacles and magnetic fields can interfere with radio signals. Flying in an open, unobstructed environment helps reduce the likelihood of interference from physical obstacles.

3. GPS Signal Searching

The quality and reliability of GPS signal reception can be affected by the environment.

4. Wi-Fi Connection Settings

The Wi-Fi signal of the drone does not require a password. A setting option or prompt will appear after connection.

iOS Wi-Fi Connection:

Wi-Fi Display Analyze
Shows 'RUKO_U11PRO_******' with 'No Internet Connection' Displaying 'no Internet connection' or 'unsafe network' is a normal reminder from the mobile phone and does not affect normal use.
Wi-Fi Setting Prompt Analyze
Prompt: "RUKO U11PRO" would like to find and connect to devices on your local network. This app will be able to discover and connect to devices on the networks you use. Options: 'Don't Allow', 'Allow' Determines whether to allow the APP to access the mobile network permission.
Consequences of Wrong Settings Solution
The phone connects to the drone's Wi-Fi, but the image transmission screen does not display after entering the APP. Reinstall the correct settings.

Android Wi-Fi Connection:

Wi-Fi Display Analyze
Shows 'RUKO_U11PRO_******' with 'Connected to device' Displaying 'no Internet connection' or 'unsafe network' is a normal reminder from the mobile phone and does not affect normal use.
Wi-Fi Setting Prompt Analyze
Shows 'WLAN assistant', 'RUKO_U11PRO_****** 5G Connected, no internet'. Prompt: 'Current WLAN can not access the Internet, do you want to switch to mobile data?' Options: 'Keep', 'Use mobile data' The drone Wi-Fi can only transmit images but cannot access the Internet. The system will ask if you want to continue using this Wi-Fi. Most mobile phones will pop up settings within 30 seconds after connecting to Wi-Fi.
Consequences of Wrong Settings Solution
After incorrect settings, the phone disconnects from the drone Wi-Fi, and the image transmission screen does not display after entering the APP. Forget this network, reconnect to the correct settings.

6. Pairing & Calibration

Item Operate Notice
Remote Control Pairing Turn on the drone → turn on the remote control → automatically complete the frequency pairing. After the drone is turned off, the remote controller also needs to be turned off, and then turned on again to link to the frequency.
Compass Calibration 1. Click on the compass calibration on the APP.
2. Horizontal rotation calibration.
3. Vertical rotation calibration.
When encountering strong magnetic interference, the APP pops up a calibration prompt or calibrates when it is out of control.

7. Check Why the Screen Without Image Transmission

No image transmission Not connected to Wi-Fi Find the Wi-Fi of the drone and click to connect (the pop-up time of the Wi-Fi of the drone depends on the performance of the mobile phone; you can refresh the Wi-Fi list more often).

9. Battery Storage & Use

It is forbidden to use the battery when it is obviously abnormal, so as to avoid safety incidents such as power failure, crash, smoke and fire.

Getting Started

1. Download App

Download the 'Ruko Fly' application. This can be done by searching for it in your device's app store or by scanning a QR code (not provided here). The app is necessary for operating the drone.

Charge the Batteries

Charge the drone's battery using a compatible charger (≤15W recommended). The charging process involves connecting the battery to the charger, which is then plugged into a power source.

2. Unfold the 4 Arms of the Aircraft

Carefully unfold the four arms of the drone from their folded position to prepare for flight. The arms typically swing outwards.

3. Unfold the Remote Controller

Unfold the remote controller. Then, place your mobile phone securely onto the phone holder integrated into the remote controller.

4. Select an Open Flying Area

Choose an open, unobstructed area for flying. Ensure the area is clear of obstacles. A minimum safe height of 65ft (approximately 20 meters) is recommended for flight operations. A landing pad graphic is shown for reference.

5. Automatically Pair the Remote Controller with the Aircraft

Follow these steps for pairing:

  1. Remove the protective sponge sheet from the drone and install the battery.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the aircraft until it plays a startup sound.
  3. Long press the power switch on the remote controller for 3 seconds until the 4 indicator lights flash.

Note: Once successfully paired, the 4 indicator lights will change from flashing to being constantly on.

6. Connect to Wi-Fi

Connect your mobile device to the aircraft's Wi-Fi network (e.g., 'RUKO_U11PRO_******'). Once connected, open the 'Ruko Fly' app to access the operation page. Refer to the User Manual for more details.

Search for GPS Automatically

The drone will automatically search for GPS signals. Ensure GPS≥3 for stable flight. The green indicator light on the drone should be constantly on when a sufficient GPS signal is acquired.

Tips:

Start the Motors

Push both joysticks to the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions simultaneously (hold for about 2 seconds) to start the motors. The drone should be on a level ground.

Take off

Push the left joystick upwards to initiate takeoff.

Landing

Push the left joystick downwards to land the drone.

New to Flying Drones?

For new drone pilots, the 'Ruko Fly' app includes a flight guide. Additionally, search for 'Ruko U11 Pro First Flight' on YouTube for instructional videos. You can also scan a QR code (not provided here) for more tech and video support.

Common Problems and Solutions

Question Reason Solutions
Short battery life The drone was not charged when received. Please use a charger with 5V/3A to charge and discharge it three times or more.
Flying in cold weather. In low temperatures, the chemical reaction of the lithium battery is slowed down, and the energy cannot be fully released.
Flying in windy weather. Flying in windy weather will accelerate power loss.
Video and photo pixels are not 4K The memory card setting is not set to 4K. In the upper right corner of the APP, enter the SD card settings and set it to 4K@15fps.
Dim light when shooting. Find the best light angle when shooting, and the shooting effect will be better.
Wi-Fi can't be found or connected Your phone doesn't support dual-band Wi-Fi. Change to another phone which supports dual-band Wi-Fi.
Your phone has a high-security system and treats it as unsafe Wi-Fi, refusing to connect. For Android phones, please wait for seconds after connecting with the drone's Wi-Fi. If there is any issue, make sure your phone treats it as safe Wi-Fi to connect it.
Wi-Fi still can't find after turning on the power. The Wi-Fi connection speed depends on the reaction speed of the phone; please try to refresh the page.
GPS signal can not be searched The drone flies indoors (not recommended). Recommend flying the drone outdoors.
There is signal interference around, such as tall buildings and trees. Go to another open-air area to fly the drone.
Pictures and videos cannot be saved in SD card The card memory is full. Delete the contents of the SD card.
Use other formats and unsuitable SD card. Format the memory card and select FAT32 as the file system at the same time. Choose an SD card with memory of 32GB or less, and a speed of Class 10 or higher.
The drone cannot return to home or drift The GPS mode was turned off. Please check the GPS lights on the remote control to see if they are off. Please check if there is a GPS signal notification of closing on the APP.
Flying altitude was lower. Turn on GPS mode when flying outdoors; Smart RTH and low battery RTH cannot be used.
The drone can't take off after unlocking Do not search GPS signals successfully. Please go to an open area to fly it. Search GPS signal again.
It does not switch to the indoor mode if you are indoor. Turn off GPS mode and switch to indoor mode (not recommended).
Can't take off after replacing propeller or flip over when taking off The propellers are installed incorrectly. Please install the propellers according to the marks on the drone arm.
