Version 1.0

For ages 14+

1. Download App

To control the Ruko U11 drone, download the RUKO GPS application. Search for "RUKO GPS" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for Android devices. After downloading, the RUKO GPS app icon will appear on your mobile device's home screen.

2. Charge the Batteries

Ensure the drone battery is charged. Connect the drone battery to a power source using the provided charging cable and a compatible charger (≤15W). The diagram shows the battery being connected to a charger and then inserted into the drone.

3. Prepare the Drone

Unfold the Drone Arms

Carefully unfold the drone's four arms from their folded position to an extended, flight-ready state. This typically involves gently pulling each arm outwards until it locks into place.

4. Prepare the Transmitter

Unfold the Antenna

Extend the antenna on the remote controller upwards. This helps in receiving and transmitting signals effectively.

Install the Phone Holder

Attach your smartphone to the designated phone holder on the remote controller. The holder typically clamps onto the phone, securing it for viewing the live feed.

5. Select an Open Area

Choose a safe and open flying environment. The ideal location is a large, clear space free from obstacles like buildings, trees, and power lines. A helipad graphic is shown as an example of a suitable landing/take-off zone.

Flight Height Recommendation: Fly the drone at a safe altitude, recommended to be at least 65 feet (approximately 20 meters) above ground level. A diagram illustrates a drone flying at a safe height with a checkmark (✔️) and another drone flying too low near a tree with a cross (❌).

6. Pair the Transmitter with the Aircraft

  1. Install the battery into the aircraft.
  2. Power on the aircraft by pressing and holding the power button until it plays a startup sound.
  3. Power on the transmitter.
  4. To pair, push the left control stick downwards. The remote controller will emit a "beep" sound. Successful pairing is indicated by a steady red light and a flashing blue light on the controller.

7. Connect to Wi-Fi and Calibrate

Connect to Wi-Fi

Connect your mobile device to the aircraft's Wi-Fi network (e.g., "drone-******"). Once connected, open the RUKO GPS app and tap the "Go Flying" icon to begin.

Calibrate the Compass

Calibrate the compass for accurate navigation. Rotate the aircraft horizontally 360 degrees (approximately 3 turns) until the controller plays a "beep" sound. Then, rotate the aircraft vertically 360 degrees (approximately 3 turns) until another "beep" sound is heard.

8. Prepare for Flight

Calibrate the Gyroscope

Ensure the aircraft is on a level surface. Push the right control stick to the 5 o'clock position for approximately 2 seconds until the controller plays a "beep" sound to calibrate the gyroscope.

Start the Motors

To start the motors, push both control sticks simultaneously to the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions for approximately 2 seconds.

Take Off

Initiate take-off by pushing the left control stick upwards. The drone will ascend from the ground.
