Hardware Contents

The following hardware is included:

Initial Installation

  1. Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. ? DANGER: Failure to disconnect power may result in serious injury or death.
  2. Determine the mounting method:
    • Standard Mounting: Best for ceilings 8 ft. or higher. A longer downrod may be needed for taller ceilings (sold separately).
    • Angle Mounting: Best for angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod may be needed for proper blade clearance. Ensure ceiling angle is not steeper than 16°.
    • Flushmount Installation: Not available for this model.
    • Closemount Installation: Suitable for ceilings lower than 8 ft. high.
  3. Ensure blades (M) are at least 30 in. from obstructions and the downrod (A) allows blades to be at least 7 ft. above the floor.
  4. Mounting Bracket Attachment:
    • Loosen mounting bracket screws (R) on the canopy (E). Remove two screws from the round holes of the canopy and set aside. Detach the mounting bracket (D) from the canopy (E).
    • Attach the mounting bracket (D) to the outlet box (not included) using screws and washers provided with the outlet box. ? CAUTION: Use proper hardware as it supports the fan.
  5. Motor Assembly Preparation:
    • Remove the 10 preassembled motor screws (O) and five preassembled motor blocks from the underside of the motor assembly (I). Discard motor blocks, but save motor screws (O). The notch in the fitter plate (J) provides access to motor screw holes.
    • For Standard or Angle Mounting, proceed to page 9. For Closemount Instructions, proceed to page 11.

Standard or Angled Mounting Instructions

  1. Remove the downrod clip (C) and downrod pin (B) from the downrod (A). Partially loosen the set screws (P) in the yoke at the top of the motor assembly (I).
  2. Insert the downrod (A) through the canopy (E) and yoke cover (K). Feed the wires from the motor assembly (I) through the downrod (A).
  3. Slide the downrod (A) into the yoke of the motor assembly (I). Align the holes, then re-install the downrod pin (B) and downrod clip (C). Secure with set screws (P) and slide the yoke cover (K) down until it rests on the motor assembly (I).
  4. Wire Preparation (if needed): If using a shorter downrod, you may need to cut lead wires. Measure 8 inches of lead wire from the top of the downrod and cut excess with wire cutters.
  5. Wire Stripping: If wires were cut, strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the end of the white wire. Twist the stripped ends together with pliers. Repeat for black and blue wires. (This step is not necessary if wires were not cut).
  6. Install Downrod Ball: Install the ball end of the downrod (A) into the mounting bracket (D). Align one of the four slots in the downrod with the tab in the mounting bracket (D). ? DANGER: Failure to align the slot with the tab could cause the fan to fall, resulting in serious injury or death.
  7. Proceed to Wiring on page 12.

Closemount Instructions

Note: Downrod (A), canopy cover (F), and yoke cover (K) are not used in this installation.

  1. Remove the canopy cover (F) from the bottom of the canopy (E).
  2. Remove three Phillips-head closemount screws (Q) from the top of the motor assembly (I). Align the canopy (E) with the holes in the motor assembly (I) and re-install the screws (Q) to secure the canopy (E).
  3. Raise the fan and place the canopy (E) on the hook on the mounting bracket (D) to free your hands for wiring.

Wiring

⚠️ WARNING: Use provided wire connectors for one 12-gauge house wire and two fan lead wires. Consult an electrician for proper connectors if house wires are larger or more numerous.

? CAUTION: Ensure the outlet box is properly grounded (green or bare wire present).

  1. Connect Wires:
    • Connect the Green wires (from downrod/bracket) to the Bare/Green (ground) supply wire. (For closemount, there are only two Green wires).
    • Connect the White wire from the fan to the White (neutral) supply wire.
    • Connect the Black and Blue wires from the fan to the Black (hot) supply wire.
    • Secure all connections with wire connectors (AA).
    • Note: If a second hot power wire is available, connect it to the blue wire for separate light and fan control.
    • Wire identification: Blue = light power, Black = fan power, White = neutral, Green = ground. If household wire colors differ, consult an electrician.
  2. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around each wire connector (AA) down to the wire.
  3. Turn the spliced/taped wires upward and gently push them into the outlet box. ⚠️ WARNING: Ensure no bare wire strands are visible. Place Green and White connections on opposite sides of the outlet box from Black and Blue connections.

Final Installation

  1. Secure Canopy: For closemount, align the canopy (E) over the mounting bracket screws (R) on the mounting bracket (D). Place the keyholes of the canopy (E) onto the screws (R) and rotate clockwise.
  2. Secure the canopy (E) with the mounting bracket screws (R) removed earlier. Tighten all screws securely.
  3. Attach Blades: Partially insert three blade screws (BB) with three blade washers (CC) through one blade (M) and into one blade arm (L). Tighten each screw (BB) with a Phillips screwdriver, starting with the middle one. Repeat for all blades (M) and blade arms (L).
  4. Attach Blade Arms to Motor: Install each blade arm (L) to the underside of the motor assembly (I) using the previously removed motor screws (O). Tighten with a Phillips screwdriver.
  5. Connect Light Kit: Remove fitter plate screws (S) from the fitter plate (J). Connect the 9-pin connectors from the fitter plate (J) and the light kit (G).
  6. Assemble the light kit (G) to the fitter plate (J) using the fitter plate screws (S).
  7. Install Glass Shades: Unscrew the socket ring (T) from the light kit (G). Lift the glass shade (H) into the light cup. Secure the glass shade (H) by reinstalling the socket ring (T).
  8. Install bulbs (N) into the sockets of the light kit (G). Important: Allow bulbs (N) and light kit (G) to cool before replacing bulbs.
  9. Attach Pull Chains: Attach the pull chain extensions (DD) to the fan and light pull chains. The center pull chain on the light kit (G) controls the light; the side pull chain controls the fan.
  10. Turn on the power supply to the fan. Assembly is complete.

Operating Instructions

  1. Fan Speed Control: The fan pull chain has four positions: 1 pull = HIGH, 2 pulls = MEDIUM, 3 pulls = LOW, 4 pulls = OFF. The pull chain in the center of the light kit (G) turns the lights ON and OFF.
  2. Reverse Switch: Using the ceiling fan can allow for thermostat adjustments without comfort loss. Note: Wait for the fan to stop before moving the reverse switch.
    • Warmer Weather: Push the reverse switch left (sun icon ☀️) for downward airflow (wind chill effect).
    • Cooler Weather: Push the reverse switch right (snowflake icon ❄️) for upward airflow (moves hot air).
    • Important: The reverse switch must be fully left or right for the fan to operate. If set in the middle position, the fan will not function.
