Risk Reduction (Injury/Product Damage)
- Product is for indoor, non-commercial, non-industrial use for cooking waffles for human consumption only. Do not use outdoors or for any other purpose.
- To avoid a pinch hazard, keep fingers, hands, and other body parts clear of the top and bottom plates when closing.
- Always wear protective oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves.

Special Instructions (Extension Cords)
A short power supply cord is provided. If using an extension cord:
- The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as the product's.
- Arrange the cord so it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
Before First Use
- Open the unit by lifting the handle.
- Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe the cooking surfaces and let dry.
To Use
- CAUTION: Always wear protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns.
- NOTICE: Use only heat-resistant, non-metal utensils; metal utensils may scratch the cooking surface.
- NOTE: During the first use, light smoke may be emitted; this is normal and will subside.
- Lightly coat the waffle plates with cooking oil and close them by lowering the handle completely.
- Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Red Power and green Ready indicator lights will illuminate. The green Ready Indicator will turn off when preheated.
- Open the plates and pour 3/4 to 1 cup of batter into the center of the bottom plate. Spread evenly. Close the lid. Cook time is 3-4 minutes.
- When the green Ready indicator illuminates, the waffle is ready. Remove with a non-metal utensil. If not cooked to liking, close lid to cook longer.
- To cook additional waffles, repeat steps 3 & 4, recoating plates with oil if necessary. Use a spray or brush to avoid touching hot plates.
- When finished, unplug from the electrical outlet. Clean as directed in "Care and Maintenance."
Tips
- For a hearty, healthier waffle, use whole grain flour. Add chocolate, fruit, nuts, seeds, etc.
- Stir or sift flour before measuring; level with a knife, do not pack.
- Keep cooked waffles crisp by placing them on a baking pan in a 200°F (93°C) heated oven, or on a wire rack.
- For light and fluffy waffles, don't over-mix the batter. Small lumps are fine.
- Refrigerated batter kept sealed will remain fresh for one or two days. It may thicken; add milk or water and remix before cooking. Cold batter may require additional cooking time.
- Recipes with butter, oil, or eggs produce crispier waffles that brown more easily.
- Buttermilk powder is a good substitute for fresh buttermilk.
- Close the top plate immediately after removing a cooked waffle to maintain proper baking temperature.
Care and Maintenance
- WARNING: Ensure the waffle maker is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
- NOTICE: Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or pads.
- WARNING: Polarized plug (one blade wider). Fits polarized outlet one way. If it does not fit, reverse the plug. If still not fitting, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.
- Cleaning:
- Remove any remaining cooked batter. If difficult, add a small amount of cooking oil, let stand for five minutes, then remove.
- Clean waffle plates and exterior surfaces by wiping with a damp sponge or cloth. Rinse sponge/cloth frequently. Let dry.
- Storing:
- Ensure the unit is clean and dry. Wrap the power cord around the stand and store in a cool, dry location.
