Connection Diagram

Follow these steps to connect your system before final installation:

  1. Connect Network and Mouse: Connect the NVR's LAN port to your router using a network cable. Then, connect the USB mouse to one of the NVR's USB ports.
  2. Connect to Monitor: Connect the NVR to your monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable. NOTE: A VGA cable is not typically included in the package.
  3. Connect Cameras: Connect your Reolink PoE cameras to the PoE ports on the NVR using network cables.
  4. Power Up: Connect the NVR to a power outlet using its power adapter and turn on the power switch.

Set up the NVR System

Upon initial startup, a setup wizard will guide you through configuring your NVR system. You will be prompted to set a secure password for your NVR. It is crucial to remember this password.

Accessing the System:

You can access your NVR system via the Reolink App on your smartphone or the Reolink Client software on your PC.

  • On Smartphone: Download the Reolink App from your device's app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play). Scan the provided QR code if available.
  • On PC: Download the Reolink Client software from the official Reolink website. Visit https://reolink.com/support/app-client/.

Mount Tips for the Cameras

To ensure optimal performance and image quality, consider these mounting tips:

  • Avoid facing cameras directly towards strong light sources or bright windows, as this can cause glare and affect image quality due to reflections from infrared LEDs or ambient light.
  • Position cameras in areas with balanced lighting. Avoid placing them in shaded areas while pointing towards brightly lit scenes, as this can degrade image quality. For the best results, ensure the lighting conditions for the camera and the subject are similar.
  • Periodically clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to maintain clear images.
  • Ensure that power ports are protected from water, moisture, and dirt.
  • While Reolink cameras feature IP ratings for weather resistance (e.g., IP66) allowing them to withstand rain and snow, they are not designed for underwater use.
  • Do not install cameras where rain or snow can directly hit the lens.
  • Cameras can operate in cold temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F). The internal heat generated during operation helps maintain functionality. You may consider powering the camera indoors for a few minutes before outdoor installation in very cold conditions.

Troubleshooting

No Video Output on the Monitor/TV

If you are not seeing any video output on your monitor:

  • Ensure your TV/monitor resolution is set to 720p or higher.
  • Verify that the NVR is powered on.
  • Check HDMI/VGA cable connections. Try swapping cables or using a different monitor to test.

If the issue persists, please contact Reolink Support at https://support.reolink.com.

Failed to Access the PoE NVR Locally

If you cannot access the NVR locally via your phone or PC:

  • Confirm the NVR's LAN port is connected to your router via a network cable.
  • Try using a different Ethernet cable or connecting the NVR to another port on your router.
  • Navigate to Menu > System > Maintenance and restore all settings to factory defaults.

If the issue persists, please contact Reolink Support at https://support.reolink.com.

Failed to Access the PoE NVR Remotely

If you cannot access the NVR remotely:

  • Ensure you can access the NVR system locally first.
  • In the NVR Menu, navigate to Network > Network > Advanced and confirm that 'UID Enable' is selected.
  • Connect your phone or PC to the same local network (LAN) as your NVR. Try browsing any website to confirm your internet connection is working.
  • Reboot both your NVR and your router, then try accessing the system again.

If the issue persists, please contact Reolink Support at https://support.reolink.com.
