JBC Instruction Manual: Firmware Update

For Control Units with USB-A Connector

Download: JBC Firmware Update File

Download the JBC Firmware Update File from www.jbctools.com/software.html. This file contains the latest update package. Save it onto a USB-A pen drive, preferably one that contains no other files.

Connection: USB-A Pen Drive to Control Unit

Connect the USB-A pen drive containing the latest update file and the update notification to the control unit. The notification will be displayed automatically.

Note for DME users: If the DME station does not detect the USB pen drive, please use a pen drive partitioning software.

Installation: JBC Firmware Update File

For DME:

Follow these instructions for DME:

Press "Install" on the pop-up window. If the pop-up is not displayed, click on the notification icon [bell icon].

For DDE / HDE / NAE / JTSE / TESE / JNASE / ACE (Preheater Console):

Follow these instructions for these models:

Press the 'i' [info icon ℹ️] key and confirm with "yes" in the pop-up window to begin the updating process.

For ALE:

Press the 'i' [info icon ℹ️] key and confirm with "yes" in the pop-up window to begin the updating process.

Updating Process

During the updating process, do not turn off the control unit. It may turn on and off automatically. The installation finishes when the updating bar is completed and the work screen is displayed.

The work screen will be displayed after confirming the "Welcome" pop-up.

Troubleshooting: If the process stops for a long time (over 30 minutes), reset the station and wait until the installation is fully completed.

Checking Firmware Version

For DME:

Check that the new firmware has been installed successfully by following these steps:

  2. Select "Information" (3) and then press the right arrow [arrow icon ▶️] (4) to check the firmware version. [Visual: Screenshot showing the Station menu with "Information" highlighted, and the next screen showing version details.]

For DDE / HDE / NAE / JTSE / TESE / ACE (Preheater Console):

Select the menu key [menu icon ☰] to access the main menu. Then select "Station" (1). Afterwards, select "Info" (2) and finally select "Software Version" (3) to see the installed software version.

For ALE:

Select the menu button [menu icon ☰] to access the main menu. Then select "Station Settings" (1) and finally select "Program Version" (2) to view the installed software version.
