This document provides important safety information and usage instructions for the Philips Shaver Series 5000X. Please read carefully before use and save for future reference.
Important Safety Information
Use the product only for its intended purpose. Misuse can lead to hazards or serious injuries. Accessories supplied may vary.
Warning:
- Charge the product using only a certified 5V, 1A SELV power supply unit. For charging in moist environments, use an IPX4 (splash-proof) unit. Suitable units like Philips HQ87 are available via www.philips.com/support. Using non-certified units can cause hazards.
- Keep USB cables, power units, and charging stands dry.
- The appliance is waterproof and suitable for use in the bath or shower, and for cleaning under the tap. For safety, it can only be used without a cord.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, if supervised or instructed on safe use and understanding the hazards. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
- Do not modify the power supply unit.
- Do not use the power supply unit near electrical air fresheners to prevent damage.
- Do not use a damaged appliance; replace damaged parts with new Philips parts.
- For hygiene reasons, only one person should use the appliance.
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning with water.
- Clean with cold or lukewarm water only.
- Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, or aggressive liquids.
- Water may drip from the socket at the bottom; this is normal and not dangerous as electronics are sealed.
- Use only original Philips accessories or consumables.
- Charge, use, and store the product between 10°C and 35°C.
- Keep product and batteries away from fire and direct sunlight or high temperatures.
- If the product becomes abnormally hot, smelly, changes color, or charging takes longer than usual, stop use and contact Philips.
- Do not place products and batteries in microwave ovens or on induction cookers.
- Do not open, modify, pierce, damage, or dismantle the product or battery to prevent overheating or release of toxic substances. Do not short-circuit, overcharge, or reverse charge batteries.
- If batteries are damaged or leaking, avoid contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, rinse well with water and seek medical attention.

Recycling
Electrical products and batteries should not be disposed of with normal household waste. Follow your country's rules for separate collection of electrical products and batteries.
Removal of Built-in Rechargeable Battery
The built-in rechargeable battery must only be removed by a qualified professional when the appliance is discarded. Before removing the battery, ensure the appliance is unplugged and the battery is completely empty. Take safety precautions when handling tools and the battery. Keep hands, product, and batteries dry. To avoid short-circuiting, do not let battery terminals contact metal objects. Do not wrap batteries in foil; tape terminals or place in a plastic bag before disposal.
- Check for and remove any screws in the appliance housing.
- Remove additional screws, panels, or parts until the printed circuit board with the battery is visible.
- Remove the rechargeable battery.

Usage and Maintenance Diagrams
- Charging: Illustrates charging the shaver using a USB cable and power adapter. Charging time is approximately 1 hour for a full charge, providing about 50 minutes of use. A quick charge of 5 minutes provides approximately 1 use.
- Shaving: Step-by-step visual guide on how to use the shaver for a close shave.
- Cleaning: Demonstrates how to clean the shaver head under running water. The shaver is waterproof (IPX7).
- Maintenance: Instructions on replacing the shaving heads (SH30) every 24 months (1x every 24M).
- Locking/Unlocking: Shows how to activate the travel lock by pressing the power button for 3 seconds to prevent accidental activation.
