Raychem NGC-40-HTC and NGC-40-HTC3 Installation Instructions
Modules de commande et de surveillance pour l'utilisation avec le système Raychem NGC 40
Product Description
The Raychem NGC-40-HTC (for single-phase heaters) and NGC-40-HTC3 (for three-phase heaters) modules control either a solid-state relay or a contactor within the NGC-40 monitoring and control system. These modules feature an alarm output and a digital input. The alarm output can control an external indicator, while the digital input is programmable for functions such as forcing output activation and deactivation. Additional features include ground fault and line voltage detection for both HTC and HTC3 models. The front panel of the HTC module includes status indicator lights and a test button for ground fault and heater status.
Required Tools

System Components Diagrams
Diagrams illustrating the front, top, bottom, and rear views of the HTC and HTC3 modules are provided, along with detailed explanations of the wiring terminals, indicator lights, and their functions.
Wiring and Connections
Detailed diagrams show the wiring for:
- RTD Input Connections: For North America and Europe, illustrating connections to a panel-mount terminal block.
- Relay Output Connections: For single-phase and three-phase contactors, showing how the internal relay transfers power to the contactor coil.
- SSR Output Connections: For single-phase and three-phase SSRs, illustrating the transfer of internal 12 Vdc power to the SSR.
- Digital Input Connections: For North American and European installations, showing connections to a terminal block.
Panel Enclosure and Mounting
Guidance is provided on selecting an appropriate panel enclosure (NEMA 1, NEMA 12, NEMA 4, or NEMA 4X) and determining mounting locations for the NGC-40-HTC or NGC-40-HTC3 modules. It is recommended to mount the units away from significant magnetic fields or excessive vibrations. The operating temperature range of the modules is -40°C to 65°C (-40°F to 149°F), and cooling may be required if ambient temperatures fall outside this range.
CAN Bus Connections
Diagrams illustrate CAN bus connections for systems with up to 10 modules and up to 20 modules, showing the daisy-chain topology, power supply connections, and module configurations.
Maintenance
The NGC-40-HTC/HTC3 contains no user-serviceable parts. Contact your Chemelex representative for service and RMA number if needed. Warnings are provided regarding explosion risks associated with component substitution and the importance of disconnecting power or ensuring the area is non-hazardous before replacing components.
