3. How to Manage the Tracker to Get Online
Step 1: SIM Card Requirements
Please get a suitable SIM card from your local place. The SIM card must meet the following points:
- It must be compatible with the 2G GSM network.
- Please enable SMS, call, and internet data traffic for the SIM card.
- Enable the caller ID display feature.
- Remove the PIN code from the SIM card.
- Use a Micro size SIM card for the tracker.
- Please inquire with your SIM card provider for the exact correct APN information.
SIM Card Types:
- Nano SIM
- Micro SIM
- Normal SIM
Step 2: SIM Card Installation
Install the Micro SIM card into the designated slot on the tracker. After successfully installing the SIM card and ensuring the device is online, attach the cover.
3. Wiring
Connect the tracker's wires to the vehicle's power supply and other components as follows:
- VCC (+): Connect to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery (9-95V DC).
- GND (-): Connect to the negative terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- ACC: Connect to the vehicle's ignition switch (ACC terminal).
- MOT: Connect to the vehicle's ignition switch (START terminal) or a relay control wire.
- LIN: (Not explicitly detailed in wiring, but present on device label).
- Door Sensor: Connect to the vehicle's door sensor (if applicable).
Note: After installing the SIM card correctly, it is crucial to connect the tracker to an external power supply of no less than 12V for proper operation.
4. Configure APN
Obtain the correct APN name from your local SIM card provider. Take the tracker to a location with a good signal and configure the APN using SMS commands:
Functions | Command Format | Reply | Example | Note |
---|---|---|---|---|
APN Setting | APN,ApnName,User,Password# | SET APN OK | APN,orange, orange, orange# | Use this command if the SIM card has an APN username and password. |
APN,ApnName# | SET APN OK | APN,internet# | Use this command if the SIM card operator does not have an APN username and password. |
Note: The APN information must be 100% correct to match the SIM card. Incorrect APN configuration may result in the tracker failing to get online, even if it replies "SET APN OK".

9. Troubleshooting
Type | Use / Solution |
---|---|
Unable to connect to tracking platform | Check the APN and settings. Verify SIM card data service is enabled. Check SIM card balance. |
Tracker shows offline | Check if external power is still connected. Ensure the vehicle is not in a network blind area. Check SIM card balance. |
Unable to locate | Ensure the top side faces upward without metallic shielding. Make sure the device is not in an area with no satellite coverage. |
Location drift | In areas with poor GNSS signals (e.g., tall buildings, basements), location drift may occur. Check if vibration is occurring near the accelerator, which might trigger false readings. |
No command reply | Verify the command format is correct. The vehicle might be in a network blind area. Ensure the SIM card is properly inserted and has SMS service. |
