Crestron CP4 4-Series™ Control System

Overview

The Crestron CP4 is a secure, high-performance control processor featuring a powerful 4-Series™ control engine. It is designed to integrate and automate technology within modern networked homes, commercial buildings, or government facilities.

4-Series Control Engine

Equipped with an upgraded multicore CPU, the 4-Series control systems offer a significant speed and performance increase over previous generations. This enhanced performance allows for handling the demands of advanced automated systems, providing a dynamic and secure platform capable of managing diverse technologies.

Reliable networking and IP control enable seamless integration with other systems and devices. Control capabilities can be extended with Crestron touch screens, wireless remotes, and mobile device apps. Remote management is supported through Crestron Fusion® software and the XiO Cloud® service.

Modular Programming Architecture

The CP4 features a modular programming architecture, allowing it to run up to ten programs simultaneously. This enables programmers to develop and run independent, device-specific programs, optimizing each for its function and allowing modifications without impacting the entire system.

Onboard Control Ports

The CP4 offers a comprehensive set of onboard control ports for integration with various audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, thermostats, door locks, sensors, security systems, and other equipment.

Expanded connectivity is available via Crestron control port expansion modules, Ethernet to Cresnet bridges, wired Ethernet I/O modules, wireless network I/O modules, or infiNET EX® network wireless gateways (sold separately).

Crestron Fusion Room Monitoring and Scheduling

Crestron Fusion provides an integrated platform for creating smart buildings that enhance energy savings and worker productivity. Within a managed network environment (corporate enterprise, college campus, convention center, etc.), the CP4 works with Crestron Fusion to enable remote scheduling, monitoring, and control of rooms and technology via a central help desk or mobile app. It also helps reduce energy consumption by tracking real-time usage and automating control of AV, lighting, shades, and HVAC.

XiO Cloud Provisioning and Management

4-Series control systems utilize XiO Cloud services for remote provisioning, monitoring, and management of Crestron devices across an enterprise network. XiO Cloud allows for pre-configuration and program loading before system receipt, ensuring full functionality upon connection. Built on the Microsoft® Azure® platform, XiO Cloud offers unlimited scalability and simplifies deployment and management of thousands of devices.

For more information, visit www.crestron.com/xiocloud.

Enhanced Enterprise-Grade Security

The CP4 is an enterprise-class control processor designed for easy setup across numerous spaces via web browser, Crestron Toolbox™ software, or XiO Cloud. It employs standard network security protocols, including 802.1X network access control, Active Directory® service authentication, SSH, TLS, and HTTPS for reliability and compliance with IT policies. The CP4 ships with authentication enabled, requiring an administrator account creation for access to configuration and control interfaces.

SNMP V3 Support

Built-in SNMP V3 support facilitates integration with third-party IT management software, enabling network administrators to manage and control Crestron systems efficiently.

BACnet Support

Native support for the BACnet communication protocol allows direct interface with third-party building management systems over Ethernet, simplifying integration with HVAC, security, and other systems. Each system operates independently but communicates on a unified platform. A BACnet and IP license is required for this functionality. For more information, visit www.crestron.com/bacnetlicense.

Apple HomeKit Integration

The CP4 supports integration with Apple® HomeKit® technology systems. After pairing with a HomeKit system via SIMPL programming, a Crestron TSR-310 can control supported Apple devices. A pairing QR code is affixed to the CP4 for easy direct pairing with the Apple Home app.
