Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP Installation Guide
Designed in Austria
Welcome
Congratulations on choosing the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP. This set includes two 120mm NF-A12x25 G2 PWM fans with square frames, ideal for push-pull configurations or side-by-side mounting on radiators or in typical case cooling applications. The fans in the Sx2-PP set have slightly offset speeds (+/- ~25rpm) to prevent audible phasing phenomena.
We hope you enjoy your NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP!
Sincerely,
Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO

1 Installation
Caution: Please remove the protective paper from the inner sides of the fan frames before use.
Before installing the fan, consider the desired airflow direction for your system. Airflow direction is indicated by arrows on the fan frame. When installing in a PC, also consider the position of the fan connectors on your motherboard for optimal cable management.
For mounting your NF-A12x25 G2 PWM fans onto a CPU cooler or water cooling radiator, please use the mounting hardware (fan clips, screws, etc.) supplied with those products.
The included NA-AVG1 gasket can be used instead of the pre-installed anti-vibration pads to achieve optimal cooling performance on water cooling radiators and other applications that benefit from a tighter seal with the fan.
When replacing an existing 120mm fan in other devices, it is generally recommended to use the original fan's mounting hardware (screws, etc.).
When mounting the NF-A12x25 G2 PWM as a case fan, you can use either the supplied mounting screws or the NA-AV2 silicone anti-vibration mounts.
For installing the fan with the NA-AV2 mounts, first pull the 'F' side through the fan's mounting holes.
Then, pull the 'C' side through the case's mounting holes.
If the long ends of the mounting pins interfere, you can trim them with scissors after installation. However, re-mounting with trimmed ends will be significantly more difficult.
If you prefer anti-vibration mounts that finish flush on the case side, please purchase the optional NA-AV4 mounts.
2 Connection
The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM features a 4-pin PWM connector for automatic speed control via your motherboard's 4-pin PWM headers. The fan can also be operated on 3-pin fan headers; in this case, it will run at full speed (unless your motherboard supports voltage-based speed control).
If you are using multiple NF-A12x25 G2 PWM fans, you can use the included Y-cable (NA-YC1) to connect several fans to a single PWM header, allowing your motherboard to control all fans at the same speed.
The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM comes with a short 20cm primary cable to avoid cable clutter in typical applications. If you need a longer cable, connect the included 30cm extension cable (NA-EC1).
The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM includes a Low-Noise Adapter (NA-RC7) that reduces the maximum speed from 1800rpm to 1500rpm. You can use the adapter to run the fan at a constant 1500rpm (if your motherboard's speed control is disabled) or to cap the maximum speed at 1500rpm when using PWM control.
3 Cleaning and Maintenance
Dust accumulates on fans used in computer cases over time. To ensure maximum fan performance, please clean it regularly with a feather duster, damp cloth, or compressed air spray. Be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid damaging the fan. Do not use a vacuum cleaner, as this can put excessive strain on the fan.
When using a compressed air spray, please hold the fan blades to prevent them from spinning at very high speeds, which could cause bearing damage.
To ensure flawless operation for many years and prevent the ingress of even the smallest dust particles, the SSO2 premium bearing of the NF-A12x25 G2 PWM is completely sealed. Please note that the fan must not be disassembled by the customer. Removing the rotor from the frame will destroy the seal and void the warranty.
