Introduction
This guide provides essential steps for a swift and straightforward installation of the ReadyGuard security system, utilizing its built-in default settings. For comprehensive details and important considerations, please consult the full ReadyGuard Installation Instructions.
Installation Overview
The following steps are designed for installations using one of the system's pre-defined default tables. For programming data and Powerline Carrier Devices not covered in the default tables, refer to the detailed Installation Instructions.
Key Installation Steps
- Preparation: Separate the front assembly from the back plate and mount the back plate. Ensure the ribbon cable is disconnected only from the front assembly board.
- Wiring: Connect the incoming phone line, handset phone lines, optional piezo sounder or bell, Powerline Carrier Devices, and the AC transformer to the appropriate terminals.
- Power Up: Reconnect the ribbon cable, snap the front assembly to the back plate, and plug the transformer into a 24-hour, 110VAC unswitched outlet. Install batteries as required.
- Default Programming: Enter programming mode using the installer code + 800, then select a default table using *97.
- Variable Data Programming: Program essential fields such as RF House ID, phone numbers, and account numbers using the specified codes.
- Transmitter Enrollment: Enroll transmitter serial numbers by entering programming mode and following the prompts for each zone.
- Keypad Configuration: Set the RF House ID on wireless keypads to match the system's programmed ID.
- Clock Setup: Enter time/date setting mode using the installer code + 63 to set the system's real-time clock.
- System Testing: Test the system's functionality by entering installer code + 5.
- User Codes: Assign user codes by following the procedures outlined in the User Guide.
- Downloader Session: Initiate a site-initiated downloader session to load the central station ID.
Keypad Functions
The ReadyGuard system offers various keypad functions for security and system management:
- Security Functions: Arm in STAY or AWAY modes, disarm the system, and bypass zones.
- Message Center: Record, stop, and play back messages.
- Volume Control: Adjust message playback and system announcement volume.
- Other Functions: Set time and date, activate/deactivate devices, add/delete user codes, and enter test mode.
