Programming Notes

  1. Programming can be done by standard keypads.
  2. Enter programming with Installer Code + 8 + 0 + 0.
  3. Another method of entering programming: Power system down, then back up and within 30 seconds press * and # at the same time.
  4. If the system is armed when first powering up, power the system back down, hold * and # while powering up the system (not afterwards) to enter programming.
  5. To program a location, press * then location. To view what is in a location, press # then location; the keypad will read off what is currently programmed.
  6. To erase a location (Example: Phone Number), press * then Location then * again.
  7. Duress/Hostage Code is 1 digit above any User Code.

Downloading Information

It is IMPORTANT to enable downloading when first entering programming.

  1. Press * 44 and enter 15.
  2. Press * 36 and enter 15 15 15 15 15 15 15 15.

FA1200C Programming Form

Standard default (*97) values are shown in brackets []; otherwise, default = 0.

Installer Code (*00)

Enter 4 digits, 0-9 [4140]. See *54 for 6-digit enable.

Master Security Code (*01)

Enter 4 digits, 0-9 [1234]. See *54 for 6-digit enable.

Assign Response Type for Zones 1-27 & Panics (*29)

Enter 00-10 (see Response types table below). Hard-wire zones = 1-9; Polling Loop zones = 10-64 plus RF Receiver zones 88-91.

Response Types:
01 = ENTRY/EXIT #1, 02 = ENTRY/EXIT #2, 03 = PERIMETER, 04 = INTERIOR, FOLLOWER, 05 = DAY/NIGHT, 06 = 24-HOUR SILENT, 07 = 24-HOUR AUDIBLE ALARM, 08 = 24-HOUR AUXILIARY, 09 = FIRE, 10 = INTERIOR, DELAY.

Designate Right Loop Zones 10-32

Zones: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32.

Test Report Interval (*27)

Enter interval in hours, 001-199; 000=No report [024]; Max. 024 for UL.

Power Up in Previous State (*28)

[1=Yes]; 0=No; "1" for UL.

Quick Arm (*29)

[1=Yes]; 0=No.

Touch Tone or Rotary Dial (*30)

1=Touchtone; [0=Rotary]; See field *33 for Touch-tone w/Rotary backup.

PABX Access Code (*31)

0-9; * = 14; # = 15.

Primary Subscriber Account # (*32)

Enter 00-09; B-F (11-15) [15 15 15 15].

Primary Phone Number (*33)

Enter 0-9 for each digit.

Secondary Phone Number (*34)

Enter 0-9 for each digit.

Download Phone No. (*35)

Enter 0-9 for each digit.

Download ID No. (*36)

Enter 00-09; A-F (10-15) [15 15 15 15 15 15 15 15].

Download Communication Enables (*37)

Dialer: System Not Used, Remote Arm/Disarm, Remote Upload, Download Program. See *53 for Callback disable option. [1=Enable]; 0=Disable. For UL installations, all options must be disabled.

Inhibit Bypass of a Zone (*38)

01-31; [00 if all zones (except Fire Zones) can be bypassed].

Open/Close Reports for Users 1-8 (*39)

1=Yes; [0=No].

Open/Close Reports for Users 9-16 (*40)

1=Yes; [0=No].

EOLR Disable (Zone 2-8) (*41)

[1=N.C. Loops]; 0=EOLR supervision. Must be "0" for UL. Note: If keyswitch is enabled in field *15, you must enter "0" here.

Dial Tone Pause (*42)

[0=5 secs]; 1=11 secs; 2=30 secs; 0* for UL.

Dial Tone Detect (*43)

[1=wait for dial tone]; 0=pause then dial.

Ring Detection Count (*44)

01-14; 15=answering machine; [00=no detection].

Primary Format (*45)

[0= Low Speed]; 1=Contact ID; 2=ADEMCO High Speed; 3=ADEMCO Express.

Low Speed Format (Primary) (*46)

[0=ADEMCO Low Speed]; 1=Sescoa/Radionics.

Secondary Format (*47)

[0=Low Speed]; 1=Contact ID; 2=ADEMCO High Speed; 3=ADEMCO Express.

Low Speed Format (Secondary) (*48)

[0=Ademco Low Speed]; 1=Sescoa/Radionics.

Checksum Verification (*49)

1=Yes; [0=No].

Sescoa/Radionics (*50)

1=Sescoa; [0=Radionics].

Dual Reporting (*51)

1=Yes; [0=No]. If used with Split Reporting "1" option (*34), alarms go to both primary and secondary numbers, while all other reports go to secondary only. If used with Split Reporting "2" option, open/close and test messages go to both lines, while all other reports go to primary.

Standard/Expanded Report for Primary (*52)

Alarm Rstr, Bypass, Trbl, Opn/Cls, Low Bat. [0=Standard]; 1=expanded; Note: Expanded overrides 4+2 format.

Standard/Expanded Report for Secondary (*53)

Alarm Rstr, Bypass, Trbl, Opn/Cls, Low Bat. [0=Standard]; 1=expanded; Note: Expanded overrides 4+2 format.

All codes default to 00.

Zone Type Restore for Types 1-8 (*79)

1=Enable; [0=Disable].

Zone Type Restore for Types 9 & 10 (*80)

1=Enable; [0=Disable].

System Non-Alarm Codes (*81, *82)

First Digit, Second Digit. Second digit of each applies only to 4+2 or expanded (fields *52 & *53) formats.

First Test Report Time (*83)

[Day00; hour 12; min 00] Days 01-07 Hours 00-23 Min 00-59; 00 in all boxes = instant (Day 01 = Monday).

Swinger Suppression (*84)

0-15 alarms [15]; Must be "00" (disabled) for UL.

Zone Expander Device (*86)

1 = only one 4208 installed for zones 10-17; [0 = more than one 4208 or other devices].

Entry Warning (*87)

[1=Continuous]; 0=3 Beeps.

Burg. Alarm Comm. Delay (*88)

1=16 seconds; [0=no delay].

Restore Report Timing (*89)

[0= instant, as zone restores]; 1=after bell timeout if zone restored; 2=when system is subsequently disarmed.

Secondary Subscriber Account # (*90)

Enter 00-09; B-F (11-15) [15 15 15 15].

Second Page Fields (*94)

Open/Close Report Enable: 1=Yes, [0=No]. USER: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23-70.

Assign Response Types for Zones 28-64

Enter "1" to enable a zone as wireless; 0=non-wireless.

First RF Receiver Select (*26)

1=Yes; [0=No].

Second RF Receiver Select (*27)

1=Yes; [0=No].

RF Transmitter Low Battery Annun. (*28)

1=Immediate; [0=when disarmed]; Must be "1" for UL.

RF Transmitter Low Bat Report Enable (*29)

1=Enable; [0=Disable]. Must be "1" for UL.

RF Receiver Supervision Check-in Interval (*30)

02-15 times 2 Hours; 00 disables supervision [6] Max. "6" (12 hr) for UL. 1=Immediate;[0=when disarmed]; Must be "1" for UL.

RF Transmitter Check-in Interval (*31)

02-15 times 2 Hours; 00 disables supervision [12] Max. "6" (12 hr) for UL.

RF Receiver Type (*32)

None.

Touch-Tone w/Rotary (*33)

Backup Enable 1=Enable; [0=Disable].

Comm. Split Report Selection (*34)

[0=No]; 1=Alarms primary, others secondary; 2=Open/close, test secondary, others primary; See *51 for comments.

Summary of Programming Commands

To enter program mode, enter installer code + [8] + [0] + [0]. Enter first field address to begin programming.

To set standard defaults, press *97.

To set communications defaults, press *94 + one of the following: *80=low speed; *81=Ademco Express; *82=Ademco High Speed; *83=Ademco's Contact ID.

To change to second page of program fields, press *94.

To return to 1st page of fields press *99.

To erase account & phone number field entries, press [*] + field number + [*].

To assign zone descriptors, press *93 + zone number.

To add custom words, press *93 + 00 + word number (1-20).

To enter Installer's Message, press *93 +00 +00.

To exit program mode, press *99 OR *98: *99 allows re-access to programming mode by installer code. *98 prevents re-access to programming mode by installer code.

Default values are shown in brackets []; otherwise default = 0.

Hexadecimal to Numeric Entry Conversion

0=10 (REPORT CODES)

0=00 (SUBS ID, PABX OR DOWNLOAD ID)

Wireless Keypad Disable (*48)

1=Disable; [0=Enable].

Suppress Trouble Sounder for RF Supervision (*49)

[1=Disable]; 0=Enable. Must be "0" for UL.

Babysitter Code (*50)

1=Enable; [0=Disable]; (User 22).

4281 House ID (*51)

Enter 01-31.

Cancel Report Restriction (*52)

1=No restriction; [0=Within Bell Timeout period only].

Download Callback (*53)

1=callback not required; [0=callback required]; Must be "0" for UL.

High Security Mode (*54)

1=6 digit high security; [0=4 digit normal].

User 15 Limited Use (*60)

01-15 uses, then will automatically delete user 15 code; 00 = disable this feature.

Silent Burglary Alarm (*61)

1=silent alarm; 0=external sounding.

Silent Burg. Audible Upon: (*62)

1=after alarm sounder timeout; 0 = upon communication failure.

User 15 Bypass Only (*63)

1 = can only bypass zone types 12-14; 0 = can do normal system functions.

Delayed External Sounder (*64)

1 = 16 seconds; 0 = instant sounding.

Zone Type Restore Report Enable Types 11-14 (*65)

[1=enable]; 0 = disable.

Armed Stay Dialer Report

This report will be sent for any low speed format. If Ademco high speed is used, a normal closing report will be sent. Receivers that do not have revision 4.5 or higher will print an error message in place of the english text.

RF Keypad Tamper Detect (*44)

1=Yes; [0=No].

Enable Console Annunciation. During Exit Delay (*45)

1=Enable; [0=Disable].

Auxiliary Output Enable (*46)

0=Ground start; 1=Open/close trigger; 2=Console Sounding.

Enable Chime Annunciation on External Alarm Sounder (*47)

1=Enable; [0=Disable].

Arming (Away)

Enter 4-digit User Code + AWAY (2), ARM light will turn on and the display will show AWAY. Note: If system shows NOT READY, press * to view open zones.

Disarming and Silencing Alarms

Enter 4 digit code + OFF key (1).

If turning off an alarm enter 4 digit code + OFF key (1) again to clear alarm display.

Arming (Stay)

Enter 4 digit code + STAY key (3), the ARM light will turn on and the display will show STAY.

Zone Bypassing

Enter your code + BYPASS key (6) + zone (01, 02, 15 etc). The display will show BYPASS and the zone bypassed. Note: Fire/Smoke Detector Zones cannot be bypassed.

Additional Codes

Enter MASTER CODE + CODE key (8) + User (03 to 69) + New User Code, system will beep when completed. To delete a code, Enter MASTER CODE + CODE key (8) + User (03 to 69) + Master Code again. Note: The Master Code can only be changed by a Service Technician or by Downloading.

Door Chimes

To turn chimes ON or OFF enter Master Code + CHIME key (9), if activated the display will show CHIME.

Instant Doors

Enter 4-digit Code + INSTANT key (7) to arm, all Entry/Exit doors will arm with no entry delay and all motion will be bypassed. Display will show both STAY and INSTANT (Instant zones will return to normal when disarmed).

(The Exit Delay is still active with this command).

Trouble Display

NO AC = Loss of AC power to the system.

LOW BAT = Main panel has a low battery, if LOW BAT appears with a zone number that zone has low battery.

CHECK = There is a problem with a zone (system will show zone number on display).

ALARM = An alarm has occurred, enter 4-digit User Code + OFF (1) to remove.

Panic Buttons

By holding down a combination of numbers will activate the Police, Fire and Medical Panics.

Press and # at same time for Police Panic.

Press 1 and * at the same time for Fire Panic.

Press 3 and # at the same time for Medical Panic.

Note: The Fire and Medical Panics may be reversed or disabled on some systems.

Do not pause more than 2 seconds between each keypress or system will ignore above commands.
