1 Safety & Product Information
Your device has been carefully checked and packed before shipping. When unpacking it, make sure that all the parts are included and keep the packaging away from children. We recommend that you keep the carton during the warranty period, to keep your device perfectly protected in the event of repair or warranty.
Please read the instructions before operating the device and keep them for later use. The product needs to be installed in accordance with national regulations.
1.1 Markings on the product
The following symbols are used on the product as a marker for restrictions and precautions and safety instructions. Each explanation shall be considered where the product bears related marking only. Note such information for security reasons.
- Ventilation Symbol: Please place the device at a well-ventilated location on a flat, firm, and stable surface.
- Unplug Symbol: Unplug the unit in case of prolonged non-use. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced with the power adapter 12 V 1.5 A. Please contact the After Sales Service to avoid possible danger.
- Notice Symbol: To prevent electric shock, do not expose this device to rain or moisture and protect it from high temperature, humidity, water, and dust. Do not use the unit in damp or cold locations.
- Repair Information: In case the unit needs to get repaired, please go to the website: https://tv.mythomson.com/en/Support/ and contact the After Sales Service.
- Fire Hazard Symbol: To prevent the spread of fire, always keep candles or other open flames away. Keep the device away from direct sunlight.
Battery Replacement Risks:

1.3 Apps and performance
Download speed depends on your Internet connection. Some apps might not be available in your country or region. Streaming membership may be required. Netflix is available in selected countries. More information at www.netflix.com. The availability of the language for Google Assistant depends on Google Voice Search support.
1.4 Data protection
Application providers and service providers may collect and use technical data and related information about the device, system, application software, and peripherals. This information may be used to improve products or provide services. Some third-party services may request registration with personal data. StreamView cannot be held liable for data protection breaches by third-party services.
2 Introduction
The Streaming Dongle 150 Cast upgrades your TV to a Smart TV, bringing Android features from mobile phones to your TV. You can download apps like streaming services, games, TV media centers, and more from Google Play. Use Google to find YouTube videos, search for content, or cast photos, videos, and music from mobile devices to your TV with Google Cast built-in.
3 Streaming Dongle 150 Cast
Caution: If you want to connect the device to a TV, make sure that both the TV and the device are turned off before making any connection. After the connection is done, you can turn on the units and use them.
Warning: Do not touch or be close to the HDMI, USB terminals, and prevent electrostatic discharge to disturb these terminals while in USB operation mode, or it will cause the TV to stop working or cause an abnormal status.
Note: The actual position and arrangement of ports may be different from model to model.
3.1 Product

4 Remote Control
Description of the remote control diagram: The remote control features a circular navigation pad with an OK button in the center, directional buttons, a back/return button, a home button, volume controls, a mute button, and dedicated buttons for YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and Live TV. It also includes a power button, a star button, and a microphone button for Google Assistant.

5 Installation
5.1 Packaging Content
Description of packaging content diagram: The package includes: Installation instructions booklet, Voice Remote Control, Thomson Streaming Dongle 150 Cast, Power Adapter, 2 x AAA Batteries, and plug adapters (2-Pin and 3-Pin).
5.2 Set Up
Description of setup steps 1 & 2: Step 1 shows inserting two AAA batteries into the remote control. Step 2 shows connecting the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast via its USB-C port to the power adapter, and then plugging the adapter into a wall socket.
Description of setup steps 3 & 4: Step 3 shows connecting the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast to the TV's HDMI port. Step 4 shows the dongle connected and powered on, indicated by an "On Light".
Turn on the TV and plug the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast to power and follow the on-screen instructions.
5.3 First Installation
Follow the graphical instructions on the screen to pair your remote control with the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast via Bluetooth. Once you have successfully paired the remote control, further dialog screens will appear on the screen.
5.3.1 Selection of installation language and region
Please select the installation language and your region and follow the further installation instructions on the screen.
5.3.2 Google TV Setup
You can set up your Streaming Dongle 150 Cast via the Google Home application on your mobile (phone or tablet) or manually by selecting the "Set up on TV instead" option at the bottom of the screen.
Description of Google TV Setup screen: The screen displays options to "Set up with the Google Home app" (with instructions to download the app and scan a QR code) and "Set up on TV instead" (noting it may take longer and requires typing with the remote). A setup code is also displayed.
5.3.3 Setup with Google Home App
To set up with the Google Home app, you need a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with the Google Home app installed, connected to the internet via the same Wi-Fi network as the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast. Scan the QR code on your TV or search for "Google Home" in your mobile device's app store. If the app is already installed, open it and follow the instructions on your TV and mobile device. The setup should not be interrupted.
Note: Some mobile devices with higher Android OS versions may not be fully compatible with the Google TV installation via Google Home App. Therefore, the "Set up on TV" option is recommended.
5.3.4 Setup on TV
To install using your TV and remote control, press the Down-Directional button on the remote to select "Set up on the TV instead". Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Select your Wi-Fi network: Select an available Wi-Fi network and connect your Streaming Dongle 150 Cast by entering the password.
- Google Sign in: Sign in to your Google account using your email address and password.
Note: A Google Account is required to set up the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast. You must be logged in with your Google account to access the Google Play store, use the "Hey Google" function, or launch favorite applications.
If you do not have a Google account or want to create a shared account, register it before installing the Dongle on your computer or smartphone. You can create a Google account by visiting: https://accounts.google.com/signup.
After initial installation, the THOMSON streaming device will display the Google TV home screen.

6 Home Screen
6.1 Home
From the Home screen, you can launch any installed application, watch movies from streaming applications, or access the Settings menu. You can exit any application and return to the Home screen by pressing the Home button on the remote control.
The first row, "Recommended for you," suggests streaming content based on your search history.

Note: The Home menu content may vary depending on your TV settings and country selection during initial setup.
The second row, "Your apps," lists installed applications. Select an application using the directional buttons and press OK to launch it.
Description of "Your apps" row screenshot: This shows the "Your apps" row with icons for various applications. At the end of the row are "Reorder" and "Add apps" options. Below this are further categories like "Top-selling movies" and "Popular shows."
You can select an application and press and hold the OK button to remove it from favorites, move it, or launch it.
The "Reorder" and "Add apps" options allow you to customize the "Your apps" row. Further down, you'll find additional channels displayed by genre or streaming content category.
Note: Applications shown in images are illustrative and may vary by country.
6.2 Google Account
Navigate to your profile icon at the top left corner and press "OK". Highlight the profile icon and press "OK" again. Here you can change profile settings, add a new Google account, or manage existing accounts.
Description of Google Account screen: The screen shows the "Choose an account" interface with a profile icon, options to "Add account" and "Manage accounts."
6.3 Apps
Select the "Apps" tab on the Home screen to display installed applications. Use the search bar to type the name of an application you wish to install from Google Play Store.
Description of Apps screen: The screen shows the "Apps" tab with installed applications like Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, etc., and a search bar for "Search for apps and games."
Note: Some apps work only within your own network and are not open internet services. Geo-location may affect app availability in the Google Play store. Some mobile apps may not be available for Google TV devices due to legal reasons.
6.4 Library
Select the "Library" tab on the Home screen to play streaming content you have already purchased or rented on your TV or mobile devices using your Google account.
Description of Library screen: The screen indicates "Your library is empty" and prompts to find purchases, rentals, and watchlisted content.
6.5 Google TV search field
Search tools are located at the top left. You can enter text using the virtual keyboard or use voice search via the remote's microphone. Move focus to the desired option and press OK.
- Voice search: Press the microphone icon. Ask your question to Google; your TV will answer. Ensure the TV's menu language is set to the local language for local search terms.
- Keyboard search: Select the search bar and press OK. The virtual Google keyboard will appear. Type your query.
Description of search interface: Shows search bar, voice prompt "Press the mic button to speak," and various search suggestions like "Show me my reminders," "Show me yoga videos," etc.
Description of virtual keyboard: A standard QWERTY keyboard layout is displayed on screen.
6.6 Notification
A notification button appears when there are unread notifications. Navigate to the Settings icon, then the submenu, to view all latest notifications.
7 Settings
To access the full list of settings, press the Home Screen button, then navigate to the Settings icon at the top right corner.
Description of Settings screen: The screen shows the Google TV Settings menu with options like Wi-Fi, Picture, Sound, Accessibility, Inputs, and Screensaver.
8 Connection of Bluetooth Devices
8.1 Remotes and accessories
Connect audio devices (headphones, speakers) and input devices (gamepads, mouse, keyboard) via Bluetooth to the Streaming Dongle 150 Cast. You can also configure the remote control to manage Power On/Off, Volume +/-, or Input Selection for connected devices (TV, AV Receiver, Soundbar) using the THOMSON remote control. Press the button on the remote and press OK to open the Settings menu, select Bluetooth, and press OK.
8.2 Pair Accessory
Ensure Bluetooth pairing mode is activated on the device you want to connect. Select "Pair accessory" from the menu and press OK. The Bluetooth device will be listed; select it and press OK to start the pairing process.
8.3 Remote Control
Select "Set up remote buttons" and press OK. There are two submenus:
8.3.1 Devices
Select "Add device" and press OK. Choose the device (TV, Soundbar, AV Receiver) you want to control with the Thomson Remote control unit. Select the Brand from the list and press OK. Select the control options and follow on-screen instructions.
8.3.2 Remote Buttons
Configure your Thomson RCU. Set which operating functions you want to control with the original remote of the connected device and which you want to control with the Thomson remote control.
8.4 Star Button Functionality on the Remote Control
To assign a function to the Star button, press and hold it. A dialog box will appear displaying installed applications. Select an application to launch with the Star button and confirm by pressing OK.
9 Cast Content (Google Cast)
The Streaming Dongle 150 Cast has Google Cast built-in. You can cast videos, music, or other content from your smartphone, tablet, or computer to your TV.
- Ensure your phone, tablet, or computer is on the same network as your Thomson Streaming Dongle 150 Cast.
- Open an app that supports casting (e.g., YouTube).
- Select the video and click the cast icon.
- Select the Thomson 150 and press OK.
Playback will start automatically.
Note: Not every application for streaming video content supports the Google Cast function.
10 "Hey Google" – Voice Assistant and control function
The Streaming Dongle 150 Cast supports the 'Hey Google' voice control feature. Activate it by pressing the microphone button on your remote. Use 'Hey Google' to control functions like volume, muting, launching applications, and searching for information (e.g., weather, movies, series, videos across streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and YouTube).
11 Display Format Settings
Press the Settings button on your remote or select the Settings icon on the Home Screen, then navigate to Display & Sound -> Advanced display settings.
Allow game mode: This function is activated by default.
The Game Mode on Streaming Dongle 150 Cast offers:
- Reduces Input Lag: Signals your TV or monitor to switch to a low-latency mode, minimizing delay between button press and on-screen action.
- Disables Video Processing: Turns off most TV post-processing (like motion smoothing or upscaling) for quicker response times.
- Optimizes for Cloud Gaming: Improves responsiveness for cloud gaming services (e.g., NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming).
11.1 Format selection
- Automatic: Allows applications to automatically adjust the HDR format to your display device, displaying content in the optimal, but not necessarily highest, quality.
- Manual: Allows you to manually deactivate HDR formats that may cause playback problems. Unsupported HDR formats will be listed and cannot be activated. Installed applications may select a video format that is not of the highest quality.
12 Sound Format Settings
Press the Settings button on your remote or select the Settings icon on the Home Screen, then navigate to Display & Sound -> Advanced sound settings.
The following sound format settings are available:
- Automatic: Enabled by default. The dongle automatically detects and selects the optimal audio format supported by your TV. Recommended for best audio performance.
- None: Use only if you do not want any Dolby audio playback.
- Manual: Selectively enable or disable audio formats supported by the dongle, regardless of TV or audio system support via HDMI eARC.
- Format Info: Displays the audio formats supported by your TV or connected audio system.
13 Updates
Software updates occur automatically. If updates are available, you will receive a notification on the Home Screen. Select the notification and press the OK button to read it.
