9. Display Format Settings

Press the [Settings] button on the remote control or select the [Settings] icon on the home screen and navigate to Display & Sound -> Advanced display settings.

The default display format setting in the Display & Sound menu is 'Automatic'. The following display and format settings are available:

  • Automatic: If you select the Automatic display format setting, the system allows installed applications to automatically adjust the HDR format to your display device. With this setting, all applications automatically display video content in the optimal video format, but not necessarily at the highest quality.
  • Manual: If you select this option, you can manually disable HDR formats that are supported by playback devices and may cause playback issues. HDR formats not supported by your playback device will be shown under 'Unsupported formats' and cannot be activated forcibly. Installed applications may automatically select a video format that will not be displayed with the highest video quality.

10. Sound Format Settings

The Thomson Streaming Stick 140 automatically recognizes the optimal sound format supported by the connected device, whether it's via the TV's HDMI connection or an AV receiver's HDMI connection. It then adjusts the sound playback parameters accordingly, providing an optimal sound experience tailored to the connected device. Press the [Settings] button on the remote control or select the [Settings] icon on the home screen and navigate to Display & Sound -> Advanced Sound Settings.

The following sound format settings are available:

  • Automatic: When using this option for sound playback, the Thomson Streaming Stick 140 via HDMI cable or digital optical Toslink audio cable will detect the best sound format supported by the connected device and adjust the sound playback characteristics accordingly. This sound format setting is recommended.

This option is recommended if you want to use a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) to convert the digital sound from the Thomson Streaming Stick 140 to analog sound, or if your connected device cannot support digital sound playback.
  • Manual: Selectively enable or disable any format supported by this device, regardless of what is supported by your audio output device.
