1. Introduction
Please read this manual carefully before making any connections or using the product. For any questions, contact the technical support team at (18) 3266-4050 or visit www.taramps.com.br.
The TLC 3000 LONG-RANGE REMOTE CONTROL is adaptable to most CD and DVD players on the market. It is a high-tech product operating via radio frequency (RF), emulating the basic functions of your device's original infrared remote control over long distances. It features encrypted codes to prevent signal copying and retransmission.
Package Contents
Before installing your product, check the contents inside the package:
- 1 - Control (Transmitter)
- 1 - Receiving Base
- 1 - 4-way cable (already connected)
- 1 - Custom Cord Taramps
- 1 - Protective case (for color series only; refer to the purchased product label)
2. Knowing the Transmitter
The transmitter features the following components:
- 1 - Transmission indicator LED and battery
- 2 - Increase volume (+)
- 3 - Decrease volume (-)
- 4 - Previous track
- 5 - Next track
- 6 - Play/Pause key
- 7 - Power key and multi functions
- 8 - Folder up
- 9 - Folder down
- 10 - Strap for Cord
A diagram illustrates the transmitter with numbered components.
Canceling the Volume Repeat (+)
For sound system protection, the control has a cancellation feature for the VOLUME (+) key repeat. When activated, pressing the button will only increase the volume by one level at a time.
To activate this function, press the [Volume Up] (▲) and [Volume Down] (▼) keys simultaneously. The red LED will illuminate for 2 seconds and then turn off. Repeat the operation to return to the normal function.
Replacing the Battery
Your controller will alert you when the battery needs replacement. If the LED indicator remains lit for 3 seconds after pressing any key, the battery needs to be replaced.
To replace the battery, insert an object or key into the side slot to unlock the bottom and top of the controller. Replace the dead battery with a new one in the same position, observing the correct polarity. Use a good quality CR2032 battery.
A diagram shows a new CR2032 battery and the slot for unlocking the parts.
3. Knowing the Receiving Base
The receiving base has the following components:
- 1 - Infrared sensor
- 2 - SYNC/LEARN configuration key
- 3 - LED signal reception indicator
- 4 - Antenna ?
- 5 - Power input (+12V and GND)
- 6 - Infrared transmitter
A diagram illustrates the receiving base with numbered components and connection wires (+12V black/white, GND black).
Getting the Best Performance
To achieve maximum performance (range, ease of configuration, and quality), follow these recommendations:
- When fixing the Receiver Base, ensure the antenna is not curled and is pointing towards the location from which you will most use the Transmitter Control. Always leave it vertically.
- Ensure the infrared transmitter is pointed directly at the CD/DVD Player of your vehicle.
- Avoid fixing the Receiver Base on glass surfaces with films, as this may cause damage if the product needs to be removed. Install on insulated surfaces away from metal plates or other metal surfaces that can absorb or reflect RF signals.
- Once installed, for wide-range use, ensure a clear line of sight (without obstacles) between the two products. Walls, trees, and metal structures can attenuate RF signals, causing failure and reducing the device's range.
- Momentary failures may occur if the battery is low. Check the Control; if the LED indicator shows "low battery", the LEDs on the receiving base and control will stay on for 3 seconds after pressing any key. Replace with a new CR2032 battery. Refer to the battery replacement illustration on the previous page.
4. Installations
After fixing the Receiver Base in your chosen location, connect the power cables:
- Connect the positive (+12V) power cable to the positive terminal of the battery.
- Connect the negative (GND) cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
For safety, it is recommended to use a 1 Amp fuse in the positive cable, placed within a maximum distance of 30cm from the battery.
Position the Infrared transmitter so it faces the panel of your Head Unit.
The product is now ready for configuration.
Note: This product is pre-configured for Pioneer CD Player models. For other Head Unit brands, use the Memory Mode chart (page 09) for configuration. If your device is not listed, use LEARN MODE (explained on page 06).
A diagram illustrates the installation connections: Receiver Base connected to battery (+12V black/white, GND black) and infrared positioned for Head units.
5. Settings
Setting - Memory Mode
Follow these steps to configure the system using Memory Mode:
- Step 1: Press the SYNC/LEARN key. The blue LED will blink slowly.

- END: The blue LED will turn off.
Configuration is complete. Ensure the product is controlling your Head Unit correctly.
Caution: Do not place the Receiver Base closer than 30cm, as the product's high sensitivity may affect performance.
Note: You can cancel the configuration at any time by pressing the SYNC/LEARN key twice.
Setting - Learn Mode
Follow these steps to configure the system using Learn Mode:
- Step 1: Press the SYNC/LEARN key 3 times. The blue LED will light up.

- Step 3: Take the original control of the Head Unit, point it towards the receiving base (approximately 10cm away), and press the corresponding key to be copied. The blue LED will blink for 1 second and then turn back on.
- Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to record other keys.
- Step 5: After all desired keys are stored, end the mode by pressing the LEARN key. The blue LED will turn off.
Learn Mode One Function: The key will have only one function copied from the original control (use a short press).
Learn Mode Two Functions: The key will have two functions copied from the original control: the first function for a short press and the second for a long press.
Setting - Synchronizing (Up to 3 Controls)
The TLC-3000 is factory-synchronized. To synchronize additional controls or re-synchronize if the original is lost, follow these procedures:
- Step 1: Press the SYNC/LEARN key on the receiving base. The blue LED will blink slowly.
- Step 2: Press the desired keys simultaneously on the Taramps remote control (e.g., [Volume Up], [Play/Pause], [Volume Down]).
- END: The blue LED will turn off.
Setup is finished. Check that the receiver base LED blinks when control keys are pressed, indicating successful synchronization.
Note: You can cancel the configuration at any time by pressing the SYNC/LEARN key 3 times.
