Samsara VG34 Installation Guide

Introduction

This document provides instructions for installing the Samsara VG34 vehicle gateway in heavy-duty vehicles. This guide is applicable for vehicles equipped with 6-pin and 9-pin diagnostic connectors.

Included Components

The following items are included in the package:

• Samsara VG34 Gateway (1x)
• Cable Assembly (1x)
• Zip Ties (2x)

Installation Steps

Step 1: Locate Vehicle's Diagnostic Port

Locate the vehicle's diagnostic port and detach it from its original location.

Step 2: Connect Samsara Cable

Connect the Samsara cable to the vehicle's diagnostic port. The vehicle's diagnostics will remain accessible via the unconnected port.

Step 3: Secure Unconnected Port

Fasten the unconnected diagnostics port to the vehicle's original port location.

Step 4: Connect Gateway

Plug the Samsara cable gateway connector into the gateway. It will click when fully inserted. Remove the rubber safety cover on the USB port before connecting the USB plug into the gateway. For best results, do not cross cables or wrap them around the gateway.

Step 5: Secure Gateway and Verify Status

Fasten the connected gateway in a secure position. Verify the gateway indicator light turns green. This process could take 1-3 minutes.
