Product Overview

The PARKSIDE PTUS360 1 B1 is a high-quality solar-powered animal repeller designed for private outdoor use. It effectively deters animals by emitting high-frequency sounds and/or flashing lights. The device is equipped with a motion sensor for automatic activation.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes:

• 1 x Solar animal-repellent device (unassembled main unit, ground spike parts)
• 1 x USB cable (Type C)
• 1 x Instructions for use

The unassembled device consists of the main unit (1), two ground spike sections (2, 3), and a connector (4). A USB cable (5) is also included.

Technical Data

The device is marked with the DC voltage symbol (⎓) and Protection Level II symbol (□). It should only be connected to Protection Level II devices or operating devices providing SELV/PELV.

Setup and Use

Assembly (Refer to Figure B for visual guidance)

1. Assemble the ground spike by connecting the two sections (2, 3) with the connector (4).
2. Attach the main unit (1) to the assembled ground spike.
3. Stake the product into the ground at the desired location. Ensure it is not placed directly on the ground to prevent damage from flooding. Avoid using excessive force (e.g., hammering) during setup.
4. Align the product so its built-in motion sensor (1a) faces the area to be monitored, ensuring no obstacles impede the sensor.

Adjusting Settings (Refer to Figure C for visual guidance)

• Adjusting Motion Sensor Sensitivity: Use the control unit (1b) to set the sensitivity. When movement is detected, the product will emit sound or a flashing light for approximately 30 seconds. The maximum detection range is about 8m at the "MAX" position.
• Adjusting Sound Frequency: Use the control unit (1c) to select the desired program. A single beep will confirm the selection.

Program Descriptions

Sound frequencies from 0.016kHz up to 20kHz are generally perceptible to humans. If programs in this range are used, position the product out of hearing distance. The product does not affect electronic devices like pacemakers or garage door openers.

Charging the Rechargeable Battery (Refer to Figure D for visual guidance)

The rechargeable battery is pre-charged upon delivery. The charge level indicator (1d) shows the battery status with a red LED when switched on.

Charging with the Solar Panel (1e)

• Position the product so the solar panel (1e) is exposed to direct sunlight for optimal charging.
• The solar panel requires at least 8 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge a depleted battery.
• The charging process operates regardless of the selected program.

Charging with the USB Cable (5)

When sunlight is insufficient, use the supplied USB cable (5) for full capacity charging. Charging should occur indoors as the open USB socket (1f) does not guarantee water jet protection.

1. During charging, set the sound frequency control unit (1c) to program "0" to prevent malfunctions.
2. Connect one end (5a) of the USB cable (5) to the product's USB port.
3. Connect the other end (5b) of the USB cable to a USB port on a switched-on laptop/notebook or a charging station.
4. Charging time is approximately 5-10 hours depending on current charge status. Remove the USB cable once fully charged.

Replacing the Batteries (Refer to Figure E for visual guidance)

The rechargeable batteries (1g) are designed for long operation. If replacement is necessary, switch off the product before replacing them. Ensure the seal is properly inserted.

• This product can be used by children aged 8 and above, and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the risks.
• Children must not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
• The product is not a toy.
• Check the product for damage and wear before each use. Only use if in good working order.
• Do not modify the product.
• When removing the housing, ensure the ground spike is also removed to prevent tripping hazards.
• The product produces flashes that may trigger epilepsy in sensitive individuals.
• Do not use close to the ear; misuse can cause hearing damage.
• The light source is not replaceable; the entire fixture must be replaced when the light source reaches its end of life.

⚠ Avoiding material damage!

• Ensure the solar cell is not soiled or covered by snow/ice in winter, as this reduces efficiency.
• Cold temperatures can negatively affect rechargeable battery service life.

⚠ Warnings regarding integrated rechargeable battery!

• Only charge intact and undamaged rechargeable batteries.
• Use only the supplied USB charging cable.
• Protect the battery from mechanical damage. Fire hazard!
• Ensure adequate ventilation during charging as the battery gets hot. Never cover the product.
• If electrolyte solution leaks, avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and skin. Rinse affected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor immediately.
• Disconnect the product from the charging cable when fully charged.
• Never charge or store near major heat sources or open flame to prevent explosion.
• If the battery catches fire during charging, do not use water; use dry sand instead.
• Do not leave unattended during charging; guard against overheating.
• Charge only at ambient temperatures between 5 and 35°C.
• Charging contacts must not touch metallic objects.
• If the product receives a heavy blow, store it in a very safe location (e.g., metal box) for 30 minutes.
• Never manipulate, modify, or repair the rechargeable battery or product.
• Only use rechargeable batteries of the same type. Do not mix old and new batteries.
• The rechargeable battery must not be thrown into fire or short-circuited; it can overheat and explode.
• The rechargeable battery must not be disassembled.

Storage and Cleaning

When not in use, store the product switched off, clean, and dry at room temperature. Clean only with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Do not use harsh cleaning agents.

Disposal Information

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that this device complies with Directive 2012/19/EU and must not be disposed of with household waste. It must be handed in at designated collection sites, valuable substance collection stations, or waste disposal facilities. Dispose of the product and packaging environmentally responsibly.

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste as they may contain toxic heavy metals (Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead). Dispose of used batteries at a municipal collection site.

Packaging materials are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) for waste separation: 1–7: plastics / 20-22: paper and cardboard / 80-98: composite materials. Both the product and packaging are recyclable; dispose of them separately for better waste treatment.

Guarantee and Service

DELTA-SPORT Handelskontor GmbH provides a three-year guarantee on this product from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear parts (e.g., batteries) or fragile parts (e.g., switches, glass parts).

Claims are excluded if the product has been used incorrectly, improperly, or contrary to its intended purpose, or if instructions were not followed, unless a material or manufacturing defect not caused by these circumstances is proven.

Claims can only be made within the guarantee period by presenting the original sales receipt. The guarantee period is not extended by repairs or replacements.
