Safety Precautions
Always follow these safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure proper operation:
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the cooking area. ?
- Keep flammable materials, such as curtains or paper, away from the hot hob surface.
- Do not operate the hob if it appears damaged or if any part is missing.
- Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
- In case of a gas leak (you might smell gas), immediately turn off the gas supply valve, open windows for ventilation, and do not operate any electrical switches or use open flames. ⚠️
- Always turn off the gas supply when the appliance is not in use.
Operation
Each burner is controlled by a dedicated knob located on the front panel of the hob.
Ignition:
To ignite a burner:
- Ensure the burner cap and base are correctly positioned.
- Turn the corresponding control knob counter-clockwise to the 'Ignition' position.
- Press and hold the knob. The automatic electronic ignition system will activate, producing a spark. ?
- Continue to hold the knob for approximately 5-10 seconds after the flame appears to allow the safety device to engage.
- Release the knob. The flame should remain lit.
- Turn the knob to the desired flame setting.
Flame Adjustment:
Turn the control knob clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the flame size. The lowest setting provides a simmer flame, while the highest provides maximum heat.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your hob.
- Always ensure the hob is completely cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the hob surface, control knobs, and burner surrounds with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. ?
- For stubborn stains, a paste of baking soda and water can be used, followed by wiping with a damp cloth.
- The burner caps and heads can be removed for thorough cleaning. Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and ensure they are completely dry before placing them back onto the burner bases.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or sharp objects that could scratch the hob surface or damage components.
- Periodically check the gas burner ignition spark plugs for dirt or debris. Clean gently with a soft brush if necessary. ?
Troubleshooting
If a burner fails to ignite or the flame is uneven:
- Check that the gas supply is turned on and the cylinder is not empty.
- Verify that the burner cap and base are correctly seated and aligned.
- Ensure the ignition spark plug is clean and free from obstructions.
- Check that the burner holes are clear of food debris.
