Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this CCTV camera from ZOSI. This camera operates in various light conditions, from bright daylight to near-total darkness. It is sensitive to light and can create an image even with minimal illumination, appearing in black and white in low light. In darkness, built-in infrared LEDs illuminate the area, which are invisible to the human eye, though a faint red glow may be visible. In well-lit environments, the IR Cut Filter optimizes color image quality by filtering out useless light wavelengths.

Important note: Jurisdictions may have specific laws and regulations regarding camera use. Buyers are responsible for being aware of and complying with all applicable laws.

Warning: Modifications not approved by the party responsible for compliance may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Important safety instructions

  1. Ensure the product is installed correctly and fastened stably.
  2. Do not operate if wires and terminals are exposed.

Choosing a Location for this Camera

Camera placement is crucial for optimal effect. Consider the distance to the subject for a good view. Choose appropriate mounting places, such as under eaves, to avoid easy targeting by vandals or interference from constant light reflections (e.g., from moving vehicles causing false motion detection). Numerous factors should be considered beyond just the monitoring area.

To mount the camera

Place the camera at the desired location and mark screw holes on the surface. Use appropriate screws for the surface to fix the camera stably. For wooden surfaces, screw directly. For masonry surfaces (bricks, concrete, etc.), use the included wall plugs.

Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted onto a flat, vertical surface using screws. The surface must be strong enough to hold the camera. Suitable materials include hardwood, brick, or masonry. Mounting onto a metal surface is possible but requires separate mounting hardware.

Position the Cables

  1. When routing cables, avoid winding them on objects with sharp angles.
  2. Do not place cables near live electrical wiring, as AC electricity can generate radio "noise" that interferes with the camera's signal.
  3. All wiring and connectors must be suitably insulated and protected from moisture and sunlight, as they are not weather-resistant.

A diagram illustrates the camera components:

Mounting the Camera Steps

Follow these steps to mount the camera:

  1. Step 1: Separate the Mounting Plate (1) from the Dome Base (2) by twisting the Mounting Plate in a counterclockwise motion.
  2. Step 2: Remove the Dome Base (2).
  3. Step 3: Remove the Dome Cover (3) and Dome (4).
  4. Step 4: Install the Mounting Plate (1) to the ceiling or wall using the supplied screws. Note: The cable should pass through the Mounting Plate.
  5. Step 5: Attach the Dome (4) and Dome Cover (3) to the Mounting Plate (1).
  6. Step 6: Attach the Dome Base (2) to the Mounting Plate (1), then rotate the Dome Base counterclockwise until a "click" sound is heard. Note: The cable should be fixed on the slot hole.

Troubleshooting

Q: Video Loss display on my monitor where is supposed to display image?

A:

  1. Check if the extension cable (power and video) is securely connected to the camera.
  2. Check if the video output from the camera is securely connected to the video input channel on the DVR.
  3. Check if the camera's power is firmly connected to the power supply.
  4. If the camera mode does not match your DVR, there are two methods to adjust it:
    • (1) Press the [Down Arrow] button of the OSD Joystick for five seconds. If no picture appears, continue to press [Left Arrow], [Right Arrow], [Up Arrow] buttons in sequence, each for five seconds, until the signal matches your DVR.
    • (2) Ensure the camera has the same signal as the DVR. Use the OSD Joystick to switch the camera's mode to correspond with your DVR's video mode.
