SHEHDS Waterproof LED Par 18x18W Light User's Manual
FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE READ THIS USER MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU INITIAL START-UP!
1-Maintenance
The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by non-observance of this manual or unauthorized modifications. Damages from manual modifications are not covered by warranty.
The fixture housing becomes hot during operation. Allow it to cool for approximately 20 minutes before handling.
Ensure the available voltage matches the rear panel specifications. Always disconnect power before cleaning or servicing.
Check the power cord regularly for kinks or sharp edge damage. Always disconnect from the mains when not in use or before cleaning. Handle the power cord only by the plug; never pull by the cord itself.
This device is protection class I. The yellow/green conductor must be connected to earth.
Electric connection, repairs, and servicing must be performed by qualified personnel. Do not connect to a dimmer pack.
Avoid switching the fixture on and off in short intervals, as this reduces lamp life.
Initial start-up may produce some smoke or smell; this is normal and not necessarily an indication of a defect.
Do not touch the housing bare-handed during operation as it becomes hot.
For replacement, use lamps and fuses of the same type and rating only.
⚠️ CAUTION! Be careful with your operations. With high voltage, you can suffer a dangerous electric shock when touching the wires!
2-Operating Determination
Attention: The powerCON is a connector without breaking capacity and should not be connected or disconnected under load or live.
If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuations (e.g., after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. Condensation may damage the device. Leave it switched off until it reaches room temperature.
Before switching the fixture OFF, turn the lamp OFF and allow the fixture to cool.
Never operate the device without a lamp.
Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force during installation or operation.
Never lift the fixture by the projector-head, as this can damage the mechanics. Always hold the fixture by the transport handles.
When selecting an installation spot, ensure it is not exposed to extreme heat, moisture, or dust. Keep cables clear to avoid endangering yourself and others.
The minimum distance between the light output and the illuminated surface must be more than 8 meters.
Ensure the area below the installation place is blocked when rigging, derigging, or servicing the fixture.
Always secure the fixture with an appropriate safety rope, using the correct holes only.
Operate the fixture only after confirming the housing is firmly closed and all screws are tightly fastened.
The lamp must never be ignited if the objective-lens or any housing-cover is open, as discharge lamps may explode and emit harmful ultraviolet radiation.
The maximum ambient temperature of 45°C must never be exceeded.
3-Attention Item
- For product longevity, do not place it in wet areas or above 40 degrees Celsius.
- Do not place the product on unstable or shaky surfaces.
- For maintenance, consult a professional to avoid the risk of electric shock.
- Power supply should not fluctuate by more than +/-10% while the light is in use. High power can decrease lamp life, while low power affects luminosity.
- After powering off, allow over 20 minutes for cooling before re-use.
- Review the manual to ensure normal product operation.
4-Rigging the Fixture
The intended structure for fixture installation must safely support the fixture's weight and be certified for the purpose.
Fixtures must be installed in accordance with national and local electrical and construction codes and regulations.
For overhead installation, the fixture must always be secured with a safety wire capable of bearing at least 10 times the fixture's weight.
It is forbidden to remain in the area below the installation place, on bridges, under high working places, or in other endangered areas when rigging, derigging, or servicing the fixture.
The operator must ensure that safety-related and machine-technical installations are approved by an expert before initial operation and after any changes. These installations must be approved by a skilled person annually.
Allow the fixture to cool for ten minutes before handling.
The projector should be installed in areas where persons may not walk by or be seated.
IMPORTANT! OVERHEAD RIGGING REQUIRES EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE, including calculating working load limits, installation materials, and periodic safety inspections. If unqualified, seek professional assistance.
CAUTION: Fixtures may cause severe injuries if they crash down! If uncertain about installation safety, do not install the fixture!
The fixture must be installed out of public reach and must never be fixed swinging freely.
⚠️ Danger of fire! When installing, ensure no highly inflammable material (e.g., decoration articles) is within 1 meter.
The minimum distance of 8 meters between the light output and lit objects must be maintained.
CAUTION! Use 2 appropriate clamps to rig the fixture on the truss. Follow instructions at the base. Ensure the device is fixed properly and the structure (truss) is secure.
The fixture can be placed directly on the stage floor or rigged on a truss in any orientation without altering its operation characteristics.
For securing a fixture to the truss, install two safety wires that can hold at least 10 times the fixture's weight. Use only safety wires with screw-on carabiners.
5-DMX-512 Connection
The fixture is equipped with 3-pin sockets for DMX input and output, wired in parallel.
Use only a shielded twisted-pair cable designed for 3-pin XLR plugs and connectors to connect the controller or other fixtures.
DMX Output / Input Wiring:
- Pin 1: Shield
- Pin 2: Signal (-)
- Pin 3: Signal (+)
Building a Serial DMX Chain:
Connect the DMX-output of the first fixture to the DMX-input of the next fixture. Continue this daisy-chain connection until all fixtures are linked. Up to 32 fixtures can be connected.
Caution: The DMX cable at the last fixture must be terminated with a terminator. Solder a 120 Ω resistor between Signal (-) and Signal (+) into a 3-pin (or 5-pin) XLR plug and insert it into the DMX-output of the last fixture.

7-Maintenance and Cleaning
It is essential to keep the fixture clean. Dust, dirt, and smoke-fluid residues must not build up, as this significantly reduces light output. Regular cleaning ensures maximum light output and reliable operation throughout the fixture's life.
A soft, lint-free cloth moistened with a good glass cleaning fluid is recommended. Do not use alcohol or solvents under any circumstances.
⚠️ DANGER! Disconnect from the mains before starting any maintenance work.
The front objective lens requires weekly cleaning due to smoke-fluid residue buildup. Cooling fans should be cleaned monthly. The interior should be cleaned at least annually using a vacuum cleaner or air-jet.
Remove dust and dirt from fans and cooling vents using a soft brush and vacuum cleaner.
Important! Check air filters periodically and clean them before they become clogged.
Clean the two air filters in the fixture's covers and the two in the base. Use a vacuum cleaner, compressed air, or wash them and allow them to dry completely.
8-Replacing the Fuse
Before replacing the fuse, unplug the mains lead.
- Remove the fuse holder on the rear panel of the base using a screwdriver (turn anti-clockwise).
- Remove the old fuse from the holder.
- Install a new fuse of the same type and rating.
- Replace the fuse holder in the housing and secure it.
Checking Plastic Parts of the Fixture
Check plastic parts for damage and cracks at least every two months. Inspect the front lens plastic for secure fastening. If cracks are found, do not use the fixture until the damaged part is replaced.
Cracks or damage can result from transportation, handling, or aging. This check is crucial for fixed installations and rental preparation. Any loose parts, cracked plastic, or improperly seated front lens parts must be replaced immediately.
