1. Important Information
1.1 Safety Precautions and Maintenance
⚠️ Warning: Using controls, adjustments, or procedures not described in this document may result in electric shock, electrical hazards, and/or mechanical hazards. Read and follow these instructions when connecting and using your computer monitor.
Handling and Care
- Keep the monitor away from direct sunlight, bright light, and heat sources. Prolonged exposure may cause discoloration or damage.
- Keep the monitor away from oily substances, which may damage the plastic casing and void the warranty.
- Remove any objects that could fall into ventilation openings or obstruct the cooling of electronic components.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Ensure the power plug and socket are easily accessible when placing the monitor.
- If disconnecting power by unplugging the power cord or DC power cord, wait at least 6 seconds before reconnecting for normal operation.
- Use only the approved Philips power cord. Contact your local service center if the cord is missing.
- Use only the specified power source. Incorrect voltage may cause malfunction, fire, or electric shock.
- Do not disassemble the AC adapter; this can expose you to fire or electric shock hazards.
- Protect cables. Do not pull or bend power or signal cables. Do not place heavy objects on cables, as damage may cause fire or electric shock.
- Avoid subjecting the monitor to strong vibrations or impact.
- To prevent damage (e.g., panel detachment), do not tilt the monitor downwards beyond -5 degrees. Exceeding this angle may void the warranty.
- Do not strike or drop the monitor during use or transport.
- Prolonged viewing can cause eye strain. Take short breaks during work (e.g., 5-10 minutes every 50-60 minutes of use, or 15 minutes every two hours).
- To prevent eye strain: Look at a distance, blink frequently, gently close eyes and roll them.
- Adjust screen height and angle for comfort.
- Set brightness and contrast to appropriate levels.
- Adjust ambient lighting to match screen brightness, avoid fluorescent lighting, and minimize reflections.
- Consult a doctor if you feel unwell.
Maintenance
- To prevent damage, do not apply excessive force to the LCD panel. Lift the monitor by the frame, not the panel itself.
- Oily cleaning solutions may damage plastic parts and void the warranty.
- Disconnect the power cord when the monitor is not in use for extended periods.
- Disconnect the power cord before cleaning with a slightly damp cloth. Use a dry cloth for general cleaning. Do not use organic solvents (alcohol, ammonia-based liquids).
- Do not use the monitor in dusty, wet, or excessively humid environments to avoid electric shock or permanent damage.
- If the monitor gets wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.
- If foreign objects or water enter the monitor, immediately turn it off, unplug it, remove the object or dry the water, and send it for service.
- Do not store or use the monitor in extreme hot, direct sunlight, or freezing conditions.
- For optimal performance and lifespan, use the monitor within the specified temperature and humidity range: Temperature: 0°C~40°C (32°F~104°F), Humidity: 20% RH~80% RH.

4. NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible
When playing fast-paced games, screen tearing can occur if graphics are not optimally synchronized. NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible certification enables Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to reduce screen tearing and synchronize the monitor's refresh rate with the graphics card's output. This provides a smoother gaming experience, sharper images, and a competitive edge.
? Note:
- For optimal performance, ensure your graphics card supports the monitor's maximum resolution and refresh rate.
- NVIDIA® G-SYNC® compatible interface: DisplayPort.
- Ensure your graphics card supports NVIDIA® G-SYNC®.
- Ensure NVIDIA® G-SYNC® drivers are updated to the latest version.
- For more information, visit the NVIDIA website: https://www.nvidia.com/.

5. AMD FreeSync™™
Computer gaming experiences have often been hampered by unsynchronized GPU and display updates, leading to "screen tearing." While "v-sync" can help, it can cause image instability. AMD FreeSync™™ technology eliminates these issues by allowing the GPU to update the display as soon as new frames are ready, providing a smooth, fast, and tear-free gaming experience.

10. Customer Service & Warranty
10.1 Philips Flat Panel Monitor Pixel Defect Policy
Philips is committed to providing the highest quality products. While advanced manufacturing processes are used, pixel or sub-pixel defects in TFT-LCD panels can occasionally occur. Philips guarantees that any monitor exceeding an unacceptable level of defects will be repaired or replaced under warranty. The following describes different types of pixel defects and their acceptable levels.
Pixel and Sub-pixel
A pixel, or picture element, is composed of three primary color sub-pixels: red, green, and blue. When all sub-pixels are lit, the pixel appears white. When all are dark, it appears black. Combinations of lit sub-pixels create other colors.
Types of Pixel Defects
Pixel and sub-pixel defects appear in different forms. There are two main categories of defects, each with multiple sub-types.
Bright Dot Defects
A bright dot defect is a pixel or sub-pixel that is always lit. These appear as bright spots on a dark background.
Types of bright dot defects:
- One lit sub-pixel
- Two adjacent lit sub-pixels (e.g., Red+Blue = Purple)
- Three adjacent lit sub-pixels (a white pixel)
? Note: A red or blue bright spot is considered a defect if its brightness exceeds 50% of the surrounding pixel's brightness. A green bright spot is defective if its brightness exceeds 30%.
Dark Dot Defects
A dark dot defect is a pixel or sub-pixel that is always off. These appear as black spots on a bright background.
Types of dark dot defects:
- One dark sub-pixel
- Two adjacent dark sub-pixels
- Three adjacent dark sub-pixels
Compact Pixel Defects
Adjacent defects of the same type are more noticeable. Philips has specific criteria for compact pixel defects.
Pixel Defect Tolerance
To qualify for warranty repair or replacement due to pixel defects, the TFT-LCD panel must exceed the acceptable defect levels listed in the table below.
Bright Dot Defects | Acceptable Level |
---|---|
1 lit sub-pixel | 2 |
2 adjacent lit sub-pixels | 1 |
3 adjacent lit sub-pixels (1 white pixel) | 0 |
Distance between two bright defects* | >15mm |
Total number of all types of bright defects | 2 |
Dark Dot Defects | Acceptable Level |
---|---|
1 dark sub-pixel | 3 or fewer |
2 adjacent dark sub-pixels | 2 or fewer |
3 adjacent dark sub-pixels | 0 |
Distance between two dark defects* | >15mm |
Total number of all types of dark defects | 3 or fewer |
Total Defects | Acceptable Level |
---|---|
Total number of bright or dark defects of any type | 5 or fewer |
? Note: 1 or 2 adjacent defective sub-pixels = 1 defect point.
