1. Important Information
This electronic user manual is a guide for Philips monitor users. Please take the time to read this user manual before using the monitor. It contains important information and notes related to monitor operation.
The Philips warranty applies if the product has been handled properly according to the operating instructions, and if the original invoice or cash receipt showing the date of purchase, the name of the seller, and the model and product serial number is presented.
1.1 Safety Precautions and Maintenance
Warning: Using the monitor with controls, adjustments, or procedures other than those described in this document may expose you to shock, electric shock, and/or mechanical hazards.
Read and follow the instructions in this manual when connecting and using your computer monitor.
Operation
- Do not place the monitor near direct sunlight, very bright lights, or other heat sources. Prolonged exposure to such environments may cause discoloration and damage to the monitor.
- Do not allow oil to come into contact with the display. Oil may damage the plastic cover of the display and void the warranty.
- Remove objects that could fall into the ventilation holes or prevent the monitor from cooling properly.
- Do not block the ventilation holes in the cabinet.
- When positioning the monitor, ensure the power plug and socket are easily accessible.
- After unplugging the power cable or DC power cord to turn off the monitor, wait for 6 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Always use the certified power cord provided by Philips. If you lose the power cord, contact the local service center. (Refer to the contact information in the Important Information manual.)
- Operate only with the designated power supply. Operating the monitor with an incorrect voltage may cause malfunction and fire or electric shock.
- Protect the cables. Do not pull or bend the power and signal cables. Do not place the monitor or other objects on the cables. Damaged cables may cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not expose the monitor to extreme vibration or impact during operation or transport.
- Excessive use of the monitor may cause eye discomfort. It is recommended to take short breaks frequently rather than taking long breaks when working at a workstation. For example, taking a 5-10 minute break every 50-60 minutes of continuous screen viewing is better than taking a 15-minute break every 2 hours. To prevent eye strain during prolonged screen viewing, try the following:
- After focusing on the screen for a long time, look at a distant object or space to relax your eyes.
- Blink consciously while working.
- Close your eyes slowly and roll them to relax your eyes.
- Adjust the screen height and angle to match your eye level.
- Adjust the screen brightness and contrast to an appropriate level.
- Adjust the ambient lighting to match the screen brightness and avoid fluorescent lighting, using surfaces that do not reflect light excessively.
- Seek medical attention if symptoms occur.
Maintenance
- To protect the monitor from potential damage, do not press excessively on the LCD panel. When moving the monitor, lift it by the frame. Do not place your hands or fingers on the LCD panel.
- Solvent cleaners may damage the plastic parts and void the warranty.
- If you do not use the monitor for a long period, unplug it.
- If you need to clean with a slightly damp cloth, unplug the monitor.
- You can wipe the screen with a dry cloth when the power is off. However, never use organic solvents such as alcohol or ammonia-based liquids to clean the monitor.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock or permanent damage to the monitor set, do not expose it to dust, rain, water, or excessively humid environments.
- If the monitor gets wet, wipe it with a dry cloth as soon as possible.
- If foreign objects or water get inside the monitor, turn off the power immediately and unplug the power cord. Then, remove the foreign objects or water and send it to a service center.
- Do not store or use the monitor in places exposed to heat, direct sunlight, or extreme cold.
- To maintain the monitor for optimal performance and longevity, use it in a location within the following temperature and humidity range:
- Temperature: 0°C-40°C (32°F-104°F)
- Humidity: 20%-80% RH
Important Information Regarding Burn-in/Image Persistence
If you leave the monitor unattended, always enable a screensaver program. If the monitor displays static content without change, always run a periodic screen refresh application. If static or fixed images are displayed on the screen continuously for a long time, it may cause "burn-in", "image persistence", or "ghost imaging".
"Burn-in", "image persistence", or "ghost imaging" are well-known phenomena in LCD panel technology. In most cases, "burn-in" or "image persistence" or "ghost imaging" gradually disappears after turning off the power switch for a period of time.
Warning: Failure to enable a screensaver or periodic screen refresh application may lead to severe "burn-in", "image persistence", or "ghost imaging" which will not disappear and cannot be recovered. Damage mentioned above is not covered under warranty.
Service
The monitor case cover should only be opened by qualified service personnel.

* This monitor supports 10-bit color processing, but for this to function properly, a compatible GPU and device are required. Actual color output performance may vary depending on the monitor's display color.
Notes:
1. For the monitor to function properly, your PC's graphics card must support the following: HDMI 2.1 FRL (Fixed Rate Link) with a bandwidth of up to 48 Gbps, and DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC (Display Stream Compression) for display resolution and refresh rate. The display resolution and refresh rate may vary depending on your graphics card's performance.
2. NVIDIA® graphics cards may experience compatibility issues with HDMI 2.1 (FRL6 48Gbps) signal output, leading to abnormal display or unexpected computer restarts. For optimal performance with NVIDIA® graphics cards, DisplayPort interface is recommended. AMD® graphics cards generally support both HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. Due to varying strategies by manufacturer, some configuration options may be hidden in driver settings, and actual graphics card support indicates actual support status.
7. Power Management
If your PC has a VESA DPM compliant display card or software installed, the monitor will automatically reduce power consumption when not in use. The monitor will automatically "wake up" when input is detected from the keyboard, mouse, or other input devices. The following table shows the power consumption and signals for this automatic power-saving feature.

8. Customer Care and Warranty
8.1 Philips Flat Panel Monitor Pixel Defect Policy
Philips strives to supply products of the highest quality. We employ state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and strict quality control. However, it is sometimes impossible to completely prevent pixel or sub-pixel defects from occurring in TFT monitor panels used in flat panel monitors. No manufacturer can guarantee that all panels will be free of pixel defects, but Philips will repair or replace monitors with an unacceptable number of defects within the warranty limit. This guide describes the different types of pixel defects and defines the acceptable level of defects for each type. To qualify for repair or replacement under warranty, the number of pixel defects on the TFT monitor panel must exceed the acceptable level. For example, there should be no more than 0.0004% of sub-pixels with defects on the monitor. Furthermore, Philips applies higher quality standards for certain types of pixel defects or for combinations of pixel defects that are more noticeable than others. This policy is valid worldwide.
Types of Pixel Defects
Pixels and sub-pixels are the basic elements of a pixel, which are red, green, and blue. Multiple pixels form an image. When all sub-pixels of a pixel are lit, the three sub-pixels combine to form a white pixel. When all are off, the three sub-pixels combine to form a black pixel.
Sub pixels
Combinations of sub-pixels, some of which are on and some of which are off, appear as single pixels of various colors.
Bright Dot Defects
Bright dot defects appear as pixels or sub-pixels that are always on or in the "on" state. That is, bright dots are sub-pixels that are conspicuous on the screen when the monitor displays a dark pattern. Bright dot defects include the following types:
A single red, green, or blue sub-pixel is on.
Two adjacent sub-pixels are on:
Red + Blue = Purple
Red + Green = Yellow
Green + Blue = Cyan (light blue)
Note:
Bright red or blue dots should be more than 50% brighter than adjacent dots, and bright green dots should be more than 30% brighter than adjacent dots.
Dark Dot Defects
Dark dot defects appear as pixels or sub-pixels that are always dark or in the "off" state. That is, dark dots are sub-pixels that are conspicuous on the screen when the monitor displays a bright pattern. Dark dot defects include the following types:
Three adjacent sub-pixels are on (a white pixel).
Pixel Defect Tolerance
To qualify for repair or replacement due to pixel defects during the warranty period, the Philips flat panel monitor's TFT monitor panel must have more pixels or sub-pixels with defects than the tolerance levels listed in the following table.
Proximity of Pixel Defects
Because the same type of pixel and sub-pixel defects that are close together are more noticeable, Philips also specifies the tolerance for the proximity of pixel defects.
Bright Dot Defects | Acceptable Level |
---|---|
1 sub-pixel on | 2 |
2 adjacent sub-pixels on | 1 |
Three adjacent sub-pixels on (one white pixel) | 0 |
Distance between two bright dot defects* | >15mm |
Total bright dot defects of all types | 2 |
Dark Dot Defects | Acceptable Level |
---|---|
1 dark sub-pixel | 3 or fewer |
2 adjacent dark sub-pixels | 2 or fewer |
3 adjacent dark sub-pixels | 0 |
Distance between two dark dot defects* | >15mm |
Total dark dot defects of all types | 3 or fewer |
Total Dot Defects
Acceptable Level | |
---|---|
Total bright or dark dot defects of all types | 5 or fewer |
Note:
1 sub-pixel or 2 adjacent sub-pixel defects = 1 dot defect
