SR SUNTOUR Suspension Seatpost Guide

Important Safety Information

WARNING! Failure to follow all warnings and safety instructions can cause your product to malfunction, resulting in an accident, severe personal injuries or even death to the rider.

Before Every Ride

WARNING! Avoid serious personal injury or even death. Do not ride the bicycle if any of the following criteria is not met. Correct any condition before you ride.

Suspension Seatpost Installation

WARNING! We strongly recommend that your suspension seatpost is installed and set up by a qualified and trained bicycle mechanic. Improper installation can result in product failure, accidents, injuries, or death. If installing yourself, have it inspected by a qualified mechanic.

  1. Remove your old seatpost.
  2. Clean the inside of the seat tube, ensuring no old grease or dirt remains and that there are no burrs.
  3. Install your seatpost, inserting it past the “MIN INSERT“ mark so that the marking is completely below the top of the seat-tube.

Installation Instruction (Saddle Attachment)

  1. Unscrew the two fixing bolts on both sides using a 5mm Allen wrench until the saddle rail fits between the clamp halves.
  2. Install the saddle by inserting the rail into the clamp from one side.
  3. Press the saddle down until you hear a "click" noise.
  4. Adjust the saddle to be centered and the top surface horizontal.
  5. Tighten the fixing bolt with a 5mm Allen wrench to a suggested torque of 15-18Nm.

Preload Adjustment

WARNING! Proper preload adjustment is critical for safe functioning. Repeated bottoming-out or topping-out can lead to structural failure, accidents, and/or injuries.

  1. Check the adjustment: Sit on the bike with support and check if the seatpost is approximately 1/3 compressed.
  2. If compression is not within range, remove the seatpost from the bicycle frame.
  3. To increase preload, turn the adjuster clockwise with a 6mm Allen key. To decrease, turn counter-clockwise, leaving a minimum of 10mm of exposed threads visible at the bottom.

Note: If adjustment is not within range, an optional spring may be needed from an SR SUNTOUR dealer. If still not within range, the seatpost may not be compatible with your setup.

WARNING! Do not turn the adjuster bolt counter-clockwise beyond the initial position at delivery (approx. 10mm of seatpost thread visible).
