Installation Steps
Step 1: Determine Arm Collapse Direction & Prepare Desk Mount
Note: Determine if the arm will typically collapse to the left or right before installation.
Optional: Grommet Mount Installation
For grommet mount installation, ensure your desk has a hole with a diameter between 0.4" and 2" (10-51 mm). The desk thickness should be between 0.4" and 2.83" (10-72 mm).
To install the grommet mount:
- Place the grommet mount on the desk surface.
- Insert the desk clamp base through the grommet hole.
- Secure the clamp base.
Note: The short screw must be reinstalled in the front hole of the grommet mount.
Step 2: Attach Desk Clamp Base
Attach the desk clamp base to the edge of your desk. Ensure it is securely fastened.
Step 3: Attach Arm to Base
Connect the main arm component to the desk clamp base. Ensure it is properly seated and secured.
Step 4: Attach Monitor Plate to Arm
Connect the monitor plate to the end of the arm. This may involve several parts and screws.
Step 5: Attach Monitor to Plate
VESA Mounting Options:
The monitor plate is compatible with various VESA mounting patterns: 75x75mm, 100x100mm, 100x200mm, 200x100mm, and 200x200mm.
For 75x75mm and 100x100mm VESA patterns, use four M4 x 10mm screws.
For 100x200mm, 200x100mm, and 200x200mm VESA patterns, you may need to use adapter plates and M5 x 7mm screws.
Note: To reduce M8 holes for use with M5 screws, or if you have a model with Samsung holder rings, follow the M8M5 KIT instructions on the next page.
Step 6: Secure Monitor
Attach the monitor to the VESA plate using the appropriate screws. Ensure the monitor is securely fastened.
Step 7: Select Correct Screws
Use the size of screw that fits your monitor's VESA holes. Options include M4x12mm, M5x12mm, and M6x12mm screws.
M8M5 KIT Instructions
Note: Follow this step only if your TV/monitor has M8 holes which need to be reduced to M5, or for Samsung models using the holder ring.
Install the M8-M5 Reducer into the M8 size hole on the monitor mounting plate. If applicable, attach the Holder Ring (Samsung Only).
Step 8: Attach Arm Extension
Connect the arm extension to the monitor plate. Ensure the arm extension is at a 45° angle or less when attaching the monitor.
Step 9: Route Cables
Route cables through the arm mechanism, ensuring there is enough slack for full range of motion.
Adjustment Steps
Step 7: General Adjustment
Important: You will need to adjust this product after installation is complete. Make sure all your equipment is properly installed on the product before attempting adjustments. This product should move smoothly and easily through the full range of motion and stay where you set it. If movements are too easy or difficult, or if the product does not stay in desired positions, follow the adjustment instructions to create smooth and easy movements. Depending on your product and the adjustment, it may take many turns to notice a difference. Any time equipment is added or removed from this product, resulting in a change in the weight of the mounted load, you should repeat these adjustment steps to ensure safe and optimum operation.
Step 8: Tilt and Lift Strength Adjustment
Tilt Adjustment: Adjust the tilt of the monitor as needed.
Lift Strength Adjustment:
- Increase Lift Strength: If the mounted weight is too heavy or the product does not stay up when raised, you need to increase lift strength.
- Decrease Lift Strength: If the mounted weight is too light or the product does not stay down when lowered, you need to decrease lift strength.
Adjust the strength by turning the adjustment screw. Typically, more turns are needed to notice a difference.
Step 9: Lift (Up and Down) Adjustment
Lift Adjustment: Adjust the monitor up and down.
Step 10: Pan (Left and Right) Adjustment
Pan Adjustment: Adjust the monitor left and right.
Friction Adjustment:
- Increase Friction: If the product moves too easily, you need to increase friction.
- Decrease Friction: If the product is too difficult to move, you need to decrease friction.
Adjust friction by turning the adjustment screw.
Safety Information
Mounting Surface Strength
Warning: Because mounting surface materials can vary widely, it is imperative that you make sure the mounting surface is strong enough to handle the mounted product and equipment.
Cable Management
Caution: Leave enough slack in the cable to allow for the full range of motion. To avoid the potential to pinch cables, it is important to follow the cable routing instructions in this manual. Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage or personal injury.
Stored Energy Hazard
Warning: The arm mechanism is under tension and will move up rapidly, on its own, as soon as attached equipment is removed. For this reason, DO NOT remove equipment unless the arm has been moved to the highest position! Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury and/or equipment damage!
Desk Clamp Installation Caution
Caution: For desk clamp installations: Do not rotate the display past the edge of the desk.
Weight Capacity
Weight Capacity: 20 – 42 lbs. (9.1-19 kg)
